Ok Hero's Shade is the guy who teaches you the hdden skills, and I found some REALLY weird things, I'm gonna cover EVERYTHING about him.
His wolf form: Did you notice, the fur marks are the same, as wolf-Link's fur
He howls songs ONLY Oot Link and MM Link (their the same person) know.
Two-leg Hero Shade: He says somthing like this "I have passed on my lost art. Don't leave this bloodline " His LOST art, bloodline? If this IS OoT Link, he must of been married or something.
What do you think
I've heard that theory somewhere else too. I have to beat him once more myself though, so I cannot really give my thoughts about it yet, allthough it seems likely.
Oh, but you don't have to be married to have kids.^^
Yeah, but as noble as Link is, he would wait till he's married
what is what that skeleton said the first time we met him, something such as that a sword had no power until the hand that had it had courage. please tell me the exact words I really loved what he said.
I think he means, that Link's powers has not been awaken yet. All the Link's true power, is thier Courage. So TP Link had to awaken his true power, which is his Courage. And that thing about Courage at hand... Link does have the ToC mark, on his hand.
ahh,the saying, I remember it, I love that saying. It is:
"Remember-The sword has no strength unless the hand that wields it has courage."
awesome line.On my wall in bold, underlined letters.
Hero's Shade's sword looks like the Master Sword
what about the shield though?I remember no round shields in any of the games. Except shield that the soldiers used in ALttP...
It's been a few days since I completed TP and now I'm helping my sis on her first playthrough. And I do not think he is OOT Link. "Possibly" an older Link, but I'm pretty certain he's not OOT Link.
First of all, the only similarity between the looks of Gold Wolf And Wolf Link is that they both are wolves. That's it. They do not look alike in any way.
Secondly, mind telling what the songs are that are being howled? Because I did not recognize the last two. And the others are (likely) known by more people than Link.
If it's his lost art, then why haven't I seen OOT Link ever perform such moves? Okay, it may be not relevant because it wasn't untill TWW that the basics of those moves were introduced. However, it's also stupid to think only OOT Link (or Link for that matter) knew those moves. Many games feature teachers who teach Link most of his moves, meaning they too know them. And I wouldn't be surprised if Ashei for instance also is familiar with them.
There were some other things I wanted to say, but since I don't know the exact quotes (know where I can find a good script file?), I'll leave it at this. Point is, I haven't seen or heard anything that gives a clear hint this is OOT Link. He doesn't look like Link, no matter what form he has (Link isn't that big and wears different clothes) and did not remind me of Link in any way.
Well.. HS wolf form, is like TP Link's wolf form right? They are both Left Handed (GC Version), and he said that he accepted his life, as a hero. Dunno... He could be another Link. <_<
BTW... The two last songs... I think that they are Oath to Ordor and the Song of Time...
I'm pretty sure I'd recognize the Song Of Time. An entire list please, because if I read gamefaqs, another howling stone is said to play Oath to Order.
HS Wolf and TPL Wolf DO NOT look alike! Anyone ever bothered to compare the two? Just because they both are wolves doesn't mean they look like eachother. For instance, TPL Wolf has a (mostly) black tail (maybe with some white under it) while HS Wolf has a golden tail with a white point.
Hmm, hadn't thought about him being a lefty. Yes, it's a stong indication (like I said, he could be an older Link), but Link is not the only lefty in the entire world.
true, Zelda is also a lefty. In the concept drawings she always wields the sword with her left.Besides, which hand you use isn't hereditary...I think...
From what I can remember, there's Song of Healing and Oath to Order, and maybe one other old song, but the others are new, and the last is some song used elsewhere in TP.
I don't think Hero's Shade is actually a real person, but rather something like, a piece of Link's imagination or something. I mean, just look at his name. He's probably something like Dark Link.
But he said that he his old life, he accepted his life, as "the" Hero... :-\
when i first met him i was like 'oh my god' but i soon relised he teaches me things

it is
but i'm not sure if it is OoT link... too much doubt
i like the hero's shade now i think he's cool ;D
I actually tend to believe he really isn't after replaying and meeting him again.
Suppose he is a Link, he says he wasn't able to pass on his knowledge to the ones who came after him (or something like that). Now, I believe there could've been one other Link between OOT and TP, but I still need at least two for the sentence to make sense. I'm gonna be mean: OOT Link didn't have the moves taught by HS.
I think, with the songs, they're trying to make it, at least, feel like Ocarina of Time-era Link. As said above, the songs are the Oath of Order and the Song of Healing from Majora's Mask, and the Minuet of Forest from Ocarina of Time. However, as LadyNintendo says, that Link didn't know the moves he's teaching this current Link. This could be explained away by saying that the Ocarina of Time-era Link, after Majora's Mask, went and learned them elsewhere and then returned home to Hyrule, but still... it's far-fetched. The Majora's Mask songs point to Ocarina of Time-era Link, as he's the only Hylian we know that's ever been to Termina (and I doubt the Hero's Shade is Skullkid!). The Minuet of Forest could be explained away as a common song in the forested areas of Old Hyrule after Ocarina of Time, so that doesn't really make me think. It's the Majora's Mask songs that make me think it's Ocarina of Time-era Link. But then why appear as a golden wolf to this Link? Does the Hero's Shade transform in Twilight? Oh, so many questions.
I have played the game again, and i have read something like this from HS.
"Only those with the hero's blood, can learn these attacks." and "Those who have the hero's blood, will turn into a wolf."
I dunno if it wrong... But something like that...
okay, that you're making up. I've replayed the game recently and I KNOW he doesn't say that. Never!
And no, Link is not the only Hyrulean to go to Termina. Forgot about The Happy Mask Salesman? It's not impossible his descendants/family also went to Termina, that another Hyrulean went to Termina or better, that a Terminan CAME to Hyrule. After all, Tatl and Tael also appear to be from Termina.
And I don't care about those few songs that people recognize. I want to know what each of them is, so I can figure out if anyone else could have known them. And since I can't recognize two of them, if OOT Link knew them all.
Oops! I'm remembering my Majora's Mask wrong- I was of the mind the path couldn't be reused after Majora's Mask, but it obviously still can be, and totally forgot about the Happy Mask Salesman. Sorry about that, LadyNintendo.
The Oath to Order, The Song of Healing, and the Minuet of Forest are the only three songs used in any other Zelda titles that the Hero's Shade howls. The others are original compositions for Twilight Princess, and are either used just for the Howling Stone or re-used elsewhere in the game. If anyone knows that another song is absolutely used (not just that you think it is, but the structure of the two songs are identical), please correct me!
The Happy Mask Salesman is the one who teaches Link the Song of Healing, so that song can't point to just Ocarina of Time-era Link, since The Happy Mask Salesman probably spread the song around, seeing as it's useful. The Oath to Order is taught to Link by one of the four giants, and therefore could possibly be an old and well-known song of Termina.
So the songs don't scream out "I AM OCARINA OF TIME-ERA LINK!", but they certainly point to someone with a working knowledge of Termina, and currently, the only "Hero" (Link) with a working knowledge of Termina is Ocarina of Time-era Link. Although it would be awesome if there was a title wherein the hero is Link's Terminan counterpart saving Termina instead of Hyrule, and he turns out to be the Hero's Shade, having settled in Hyrule for some bizarre reason. Heh. I'm more of the mind now that he's a very good possibility, but that doesn't mean the Hero's Shade is not another Hero.
Actually, I don't think the other is Minuet of Forest. I believe it's one of the other warping songs from OoT though; either Requiem of Spirit or Nocturne of Shadow, I have always gotten those two mixed up.
Hmm. Wikipedia says Minuet of Forest in its Twilight Princess article, but Wikipedia's not infallible. If you've heard the howling stone in question recently, here's a link to vgmusic.com's section with Ocarina of Time in it, to compare the song in question to Ocarina of Time songs:
http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/n64/index-gr.html
There is also Prelude of Light.
I think it's Nocturne of Shadow. I'm not sure about Prelude of Light, but it's a possibility for another. I'm going to be playing through again very soon; I think I should just record the Hero's Shade songs and upload them somewhere so we all know for sure.
I am 100 % sure, that there is a Prelude of Light! I still have the howling song in my head!
Evahn, that would be great- and would that be audio or video? Either would work wonderfully, I'm just curious. Come to think of it, Prelude of Light and Nocturne of Shadow would make more sense being placed in a game about the Twilight Realm then the Requiem of Forest, unless it was that howling stone before the Sacred Grove... oh boy. Twilight Princess leaves you with so many questions...
I swear I heard the Song of Time too....
