I named my Pony Freddy, lol, what did you name yours?
I just kept the name already written: Epona.
same hear i kept with epona
You Ladies aren't very creative are you? ;D
I am! In the first file, I named Link "Link" and Epona "Epona", the second file is "Ganon" and "Vaati" and the third is "Hayley" and "Billy". :)
there cool names but i am going to start agin with a second file and i'll call link craig and epona snowball
Snowball, that's a cute name. ;)
LInk is Jackal, because thats my nickname(I felt I should have changed it on the forums because it was too close to Jack) and my horse is Torus, because that's the name of the horse in the story I'm writing...
then my mom made a file and she didn't know how to name, so she put in MA, and her name was LinkMA, then her horse is EponaHA...
That almost sounds like pig Latin, except it's "a" instead of "ay". My dad made a file, but I erased it because I knew he was never going to play it again. He named Link "Cartman" and Epona "Homer". He's obsessed with South Park and the Simpsons. It was funny, when he was playing it, he said the controls were backwards (I have the GC version) I don't know what game he's been playing, but the controls are NOT backwards.
How could the controls be backwards? They only have inverted axes on flying games....

come to think of it i don't think snowball would suite the horse (i don't no why i just does'nt seem right to me )
Cause maybe the horse is brown, and not white. You should call it Dirt bag. ;D Kidding.
that would'nt be very nice ;D
Link and Epona, but on my next play through, it will be Kaelin and Stormrider.
Link and Epona, but next file I'll name Link Eragon and Epona Saphira (sp? and I LUV Eragon! (the movie duh not the kid) ;)
Next time i will name Link: "Tensuke" (My fictional character" and Epona: "Fyra". Dont ask where i got the name...
1. MCRFreak, your sig is stretching the page.
2. For a Lord of the Rings feel, I named it Shadowfax.

I named my horse Zephyr, 'cause it can run like the wind! :)

i wanted to keep with epona in which i did but when i start again i'm going to call epona=lucky and link=russell
I started a new file, and named my horse Ande, I had to start a new file cause I thought I was deleting my wind waker file from my memory card. :(
yep,Midori means green ;D
I Called Link..Well link and Epona...Epona!
If I start again im going to call them, Syaoran and Suki! ^^ :D
Well...Maby ;)
Suki, that sounds like a good name for a horse. and or pony.
Suki...where have I heard that before...
Suki means *love* in japanese. ^^ :D
yeah, but I've heard the name Suki somewhere...
no it doesnt,in japanese,¨"Ai" means love ,not suki.
(i said that in a nice way) :D
and I named Epona "Himaware" in my second profile.
And Link,i called him tha japanese word Ba******shi
uuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... ooooo.kkk., and why did you do that?
because in Loz ,he really is ;)
but due to circumstances,i like the other links.
and in slot 3, Link is Tadashi and the horse is

There are two ways of saying it like there are two ways for saying me *for a girl* in japanese, e.g. Adashi and Watashi, you can also add "wa" on the end of them! ^^
Just thaught I would say ;)
so there are 2 ways of saying 4 and 7?
yon and nana.cool ;D
lol! I think we are getting off the subject a little bit now, ^^
Any way....
Do u think the name Tasuku would sute link?
yep,Link would be sure to like it. :D
Epona, of course, any other name would be wrong.
i stuck with the originals and named them link and epona, im suprised no one named link epona and epona link. :)
I think one person did that.
They posted befour if I'm not mistaken.

My bro though of that lol he does everytime I get a new LoZ game.
Depending on what you name your pony, funny things will come up when she is talked about. Like if you name your horse Wii, Llia will say something along the lines of: "I washed your wii for you. Why dont you bring her over later?" (I meant Wii as in the system too)

I can think of so many nasty things to name her now..thanks, ZV...
I called her Farisee (Swahili for horse)
And I called Link Ilex.
Weird I know

Not a pony! A steed, a horse! It's Epona man!
Anyway, me and my friends named one Uwe Boll, after the nightmare of a lunatic who ruins games by making sucky movies outa them, and then we have Link and Epona.
on the Uwe Boll file Link was named Bjartulf. It's a norwegian home made combination, was hilarious for us who played it though. ;D
On my first file I decided to keep Epona, and in my second one ami ( I called her in that way because ami means friend in french)
I didn't know Ami ment friend in french, heck, I don't even know french.
You're sig is still stretching the page MCRFreak.
Hey, my bro named his horse "Goron" :o :o :o
Why change the names? Link is Link and Epona is Epona.. I'm never gonna name them anything else :)
Btw Epona was the horse god in greek mythology.. She wasn't a horse herself though. Maybe someone else wrote it earlier in this topic but i didn't read it all :P
Somebody said Poseidon was the horse god before, but I could have sworn Poseidon was the God of the sea or some water related thing.
He is. Zeus gave Hades the underworld, himself the heavens, and Poiseden the sea.
I'm just gonna set the record straight here:
Epona was the Celtic goddess of horses.
Poseidon, and by extension Neptune, was the god of horses as well as the god of the sea. Greek and Roman gods often represented many different things.
And I named my horse "Babieca", and Link "El Cid." You see, I'd just read El Cid in Spanish class. ;D
Epona.
eponamoo. i am new to tdc. i heart these smilies! ;D
Link is Link and I named the horse on one file Flower and on the other Honey.
On my first file (first runthrough) - Link and Epona, 19 hearts.
Second file (my friend's file) - Sorata and Icaritu, 5 hearts.
Third file (completion file) - Error and Falsetto, 7 hearts.
I had another file with Epona and Link, names backward, and another friend of mine had a file named Rinkuru and Epona.
Edit: By the way, Epona isn't a pony. It's a common misconception, but a pony is a seperate subspecies of the domestic horse. Epona is a Clydesdale (which don't run very fast, which is weird, bad choice for Link's noble steed if you ask me.) and very much different. xD; But it does make sense for her to kill some enemies by ramming them, Clydesdales have very large and powerful hooves.
It could be a Hylian breed of a clydesdale, because Epona is definatley fast.

True. She doesn't really look that fast, though, because when you dash, the screen goes all weird and Epona looks to one side and... I dunno. But it disorients me, personally. xD
I don't think she's big enough to be a Clydesdale, going by Link's height in OoT. The diving pool in the house by Lake Hylia gives him a height of 1.6 meters, or 5 feet and 3 inches. Hylians are pretty short apparently. ;D
She's more likely based off the horses knights used to use, which Clydesdales are descended from btw.
In Ocarina of Time, she was a warhorse. xD In TP, she got a lot bigger, and being a Clydesdale really kinda fits, in the beggining, we see her carrying a bunch of stuff, and Clydesdales were used as carthorses a lot in the middle ages. Well, they're still used as carthorses today, but moreso in the old days. o:
it's not like they haven't made their own kinds of our familiar animals before, like Cuccoos from chickens.

Yeah, yeah, I guess you're right. I
was going to say something about how the anatomy of a horse that size would make running fast difficult, but... then I realized that if it is a seperate Hylian Clydesdale or something, then it's okay. xD After all, you wear a tunic and then you're able to walk on lava, and the tunic did nothing to your boots.
:-[
I'm sure they don't breed horses with teh magiks.
I believe that in Zelda games, anything is possible. >>
You can walk on lava? When, I only remember walking on lava in Snowpeak as a Goron.
But, yeah, maybe Epona isn't that fast. But the question is, is a clydesdale faster than a were-wolf and bokoblins?
Well I wouldn't know for a were-wolf, but a regular timber wolf can go at like.... 30-35 mph. (Yay google!) Clydesdales aren't real fast, maybe 20 mph, and bokoblins... Uh. ... xD If they're humanspeed, then 5 mph just chillin', 21 mph at top speed.
Oh, and your average racehorse can go 30-40. xD
So, Epona must not be a clydesdale. Because Link is slower than her in wolf form.
Bokoblins are more like 10mph at top speed.
True, true... I was referring more to body type than speed. Clydesdales are gigantic in muscle and size in general, Epona in previous games has always been sleeker and less burly-- like a racehorse or warhorse.
Well, I finally got the game for the wii, actually, I've had it for quite awhile, just haven't got to playing it cause of basketball and the new baseball season starting up soon, but none the less, I have started a game on it, and I just left it as link and the horse as Eponda, I was to lazy to rename them... lol
On my Second play through I called them link and Epona but I added accents on some of the letters.
I know it would change the pronunciation but it looks awesome.
I don't even know if it WOULD be pronouncable anymore...
on my second game i called link kerr and epona natasha but i think i will call my third game link kris and epona natasha (same as the second game) ;D
Don't steal my name...
I always call my horse Epona. I NEVER use another name.
I named Link, Epona and Epona, Link!!! ;D ;D ;D
Oooooh, tricky.
i just kept with the whole epona and link thing cause i thought it was way to uncool to rename the hero of time ,i thought it was sad
have you been able to name your horse in any of the other zeldas? I named mine epona by the way
this is the only game where you have been able to name your horse ,if i'm wrong plase correct me but if i'm right don't bother argueing
I named mine ookiitomo(big friend in Japanese).
Link was Rinku.I never change links name in the coolest games.

Maybe he's been playing the wii? And I named Link=Link and Epona=Epona.
I started (yet another) file on the GC version, and I named Link "Loser" and Epona "My bum."
"My bum needs a day off too, Loser."
"You were pushing my bum too hard again, weren't you?"
"Without my bum, the gift won't be delivered in time!"
That was brilliant, Fisk!
