Well, I've just gone over the second temple in death mountain, and I feel that TP seems to be lacking a special something that's become standard fare in Zelda games: Humor.
This Link is totally different, and I just want to comment that... it doesn't feel like the other Zelda's feel, it's even lacking majora's mask's depth of emotion and attachment... You know, in previous Zelda games, Link was almost completely anynomous. The characters in the games would often do and say funny and weird things, like some of the stuff in Windwaker and OoT's Kakariko Village. Maybe it's just me, but it seems as if the atmosphere of a nameless hero has been cast away... Because this Link has something that ALL of the other link's seem to be lacking: attachment to home and a sort of family...
What I mean is, in the dialogue, they always address Link as if he's there in front of them, they (as far as I've seen thus far) don't really give out some musings that reflect on their character or their concerns... It's just that Link's part of them, and to me it seems like TP is lacking something...
I mean in WW, MM, and OoT, we could go to all these towns and have fun, because the characters didn't know Link. But in this game, everyone knows Link, so it's like a part of the 'link' between the You as the viewer and 'you' as the personification of Link becomes lost...
It just doesn't feel... the same...
Maybe it's just me... but I'm kinda annoyed that everyone in TP makes a big exclamation when Link does something... Like with the children... and the feeling of connection seems a little forced... I know I might get a bit of hate from some people, but... I think it was more interesting when the characters didn't know you from the beginning, and then you could make bonds and emotions (to yourself) with the people you meet... It seems that the atmosphere of subtlety has... disappeared...
You're practically judging the game before you've played it. Look at your map, there's so much left to come. How many dungeons do you think there are that it's important what happens prior to dungeon two? Personally, I thought the beginning wasn't that great either. It's practically movie sequence after movie sequence with hardly anything in between. Also, I thought it was strange how everyone relies on Link for some reason.
Most of the drama of the game feels incredible fake. The first time I felt it was real was when finding Illia. However, when at the end of the game I still had no clue why the children of a farmers' village located as far from Hyrule Castle as possible got kidnapped, I felt deceived. Also because I don't get why Illia is in *that* condition. Doesn't make sense at all. Oh, and let's not forget "Sorry for shoving you, Beth" part. I want to strangle Colin, badly.
However, the game does get better. Personally, I thought that didn't happen untill the Lakebed temple (I love how people whine about the water temples. Makes me feel good for considering them easy). No humour? Just wait untill you see what kind of genius Malo is, what kind of loveable creatures live in Snowpeak, or my personal fav,the boss of the 6th(?) dungeon. And there's more, but I don't feel like spoiling it. The best parts come later. Just enjoy Ooccoo's weirdness for now or something and keep playing. :)
a) Lady Nintendo has many valid points. You have only come to the second dungeon, you're nowhere near the end.
b) Malo is a little genius isnt he? How a baby could conduct a buisness, while knowing about things such as Grand Opening Sales, and funding.
c) It does seem as if everyone knows him. You're right about that, I liked MM and OoT when he was only known inside the forest.
malo seems to be some genius and it seems he's really the eldest or at least the most mature of the three
The game gets better, believe me! :D
And I've only saved Lanaryu County and I already love it! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
and there is a very funny part with guards after saving the last light spirit.
I thought it was funny how King Bublin(is that his name?), he is the Moblin on the blue boar lifted his helmet visor and how Barnes closed his.
Yeah there is not as much humor involved in the game then in some of the past games but this is also a much darker game then others...especially WW. There are some humorous moments like Snowpeak and of course I get a chuckle out of everytime I see the Postman running up ( I can see why GI listed him in their top 10 dorks of 2006).

One of my favourite parts.
It was pretty funny at the beginning when Ilia is whining about Epona getting scratched on her leg, and Link and Bo look at eachother like "wtf?"
I can remember more funny moments in TP than in a lot of other TLOZs.
And his "name" is King Bulblin. I say "name", because it's likley more of a title. He's NOT a Moblin, but a Bulblin. It's a new race (though likely related to the Moblins) created for TP.
One of my favourite parts, are where you bomb the volcano rock in Zora's Domain. Something unexpected happened and maked me go "WTF?!" ;D
lol, didn't do that yet, gotta try it. *runs of hurriedly to try*
Yeah, that was funny. It was scary looking at it. Hmm, I just don't get this: Wasn't water + Goron a bad mix in MM?
Yeah, you're right. I dont know how the Goron managed to survive that long, but whatever. And I loved that part where telma mentions that they need an escort. All the guards stand up, and talk about how they cant let a pretty young lady go alone. Then, they're all cheering and shouting, when Telma talks about how it would be very dangerous, and how they might die. They slowly descend from their manly roar, and take off out the door, leaving the small fat guard behind. :P
Who then runs of as well. Heh, I actually thought Telma saw that coming and was being sarcastic.
If you visited the Gorons in their hot spring, there's a child who claims that "No matter how long he stays underwater, he never feels the need to breath. Weird, huh?". I'm pretty sure by now that Gorons aren't organic or organic like Zoras, Ritos and Hylians (in MM, Gibdos attack both Zora Link and Hylian Link, but not Deku or Goron Link. Might be a mistake in the programming, but those two races both don't seem to be made of the same material as pretty much every other race). I just wonder why you died if you hit the bottom in Goron form in MM? Maybe just the idea that a Goron normally wouldn't really be able to get back up himself?
