Title: Sword Techniques
Post by: Mysterious F. on January 01, 2007, 04:10:35 PM
Well, how many do you have so far? I have three, Finish, Shield, and Back Attacks. The first two I have mastered, but I can't perform Back Attack for my life. I'm terrible at it.

For some reason I cant get the great spin! I've beaten the game, and done all the howl stones, and I just cant get it! It's like a glitch.

I was slightly disappointed that most of them were TWW's parry moves, but with button combinations.

How did you not get the Great Spin? I think its howl stone is the one in the Hidden Village.

I got all of the stones already! And I met the wolf in front of hyrule gates, but he taught me a different attack.

You cant do back attack? Just hold L, walk sideways and press A again and again until he starts rolling, then start pressing B like crazy, works for me.

I have all the Sword Techniques. I might aswell list them below.

Ending Blow.
Shield Attack.
Back Slice.
Helm Splitter.
Mortal Draw.
Jump Strike.
Great Spin.

You learn the attacks in one order. You cant just first learn Sheild Attack and after mortal draw. So you have to learn all the other 5 Techniques and then you can learn Great Spin.

If he taught you a different technique, that means there's another wolf out there you missed. Because the moves HS teaches Link depend on what Link already knows, not where the wolf is located.

My favs are the Mortal Draw (perfect for any not heavily armored enemy), Back Slice (In case I got no bombs anymore and am facing a darknut) and Helm Splitter (Again, bye bye Darknut)

He'll do it after killing a Moblin or Lizalfos, no matter how you kill them. it has to be with the sword though. and I don't know if he does it for other monsters.

I hate it when he does that when there are still enemies nearby. It looks so stupid.

I got them all and I loved the Mortal Blow. I just wish he could have done some taunt first.

From what I noticed, that happens if and only if you sheath your sword. Therefore, don't do it if there are other enemies around. ;)
