I'll decide soon. It's between Tokay and Subrosians. Cresent Moon Island of the Tokays is just so colorfull and beautiful. The Subrosians I love. I will also mention this, the Subrosians seem to be influenced by the Gorons in Labrynna's past, after talking to a few Subrosians there in a linked game.
Also, the Jeopordy thing counts as the Rito.
what about the Rito? I like them
I like all the races about equally.
Count the Rito as Jeopordy music, then.
Hmmm, no Keatons, "Goblins", Fishmen, Merfolk (real or not, they were featured/mentioned in two games), Fairies, Deities, Ikanans, Wind Tribe, Garo and with Zoras, do you mean both "river" Zoras and "sea" Zoras, or only the latter?
No Twili and Minish either. ^^
I can't really decide, and now you've got the cursed Jeopardy theme stuck in my head. garrr ...
no oocca wither, thay are my second favorite. okay then, jeopardy music it is.
I knew I was forgetting something! No Oocca or Yeti.
Well, we only saw Two Yetti in the game, so i dont think they count.
Those two Yeti showed intelligence and could talk. And I highly doubt they are the only members of their race, so they are a new race 100%.
Edit: Damnit, LadyNintendo! *shakes fist in air*
one warning CA. Please watch your language, this is a forum for all ages man.
Well technically this was before the other one, but sure whatever. :)
i like bretons from the elder scrolls games
you see am a big rpg fan
You didn't mention Minish. They're my favorite.
If Yeti counts then dwarves should be on the poll. And what about Moblins? They are definitely a race. And there's the Goriyas, Dairas, etc. People always tend to forget the 'bad' races.
As for favourite race, it's definitely the HYLIA. They are the most powerful race in Hyrule, both in terms of magic and army.
I can't fit them all in. Ikanains are humans, Fishmen are a family of fish, Garo are from another land, so we have little on them, Twili are new, so I guesses you should wait until TP is a little older so that more people know about them. I forgot Minish (sorry Vaati), so count them as random. Wind Tribe are only a tribe, like Native Americans or pre-Industrial Age Africans, so it is most liekly they are humans or Hylians. Fairies might count, but they paly no significant role outside of healing and being partners with Kokiris or children. Keatons are animals, and what are "Goblins"?
I think it is Moblin.
and the Wind Tribe is most likely Hylian, since they were given tremendous magic by the gods.
Oh yeah, and the Zunas played SUCH a big role that they are in the poll, but Fairies not. ::)
I don't need to know alot about something to like it. In fact, I like a bit of mystery. You only asked for fav race. :)
Keatons are not less "human" than Zoras as you may remember from their (new?) looks in TMC.
Note the "" surrounding the word Goblins. Goblins is my way of refering to the Bokoblins, Bulblins, Moblins and Miniblins.

Ikanains are humans,
How do you know this?

The word "tribe" in the Zelda games is used interchangeably with the word "race." I remember numerous times in TP when the Gorons and Zoras were referred to as "tribes."
I went with Hylians/Humans just cause that is what Link is and he is the man (or boy depending on the game). Close second to me were the Gorons, don't know why if it is the way they talk, their strength, or that they love to wrestle.
Only three Ikanians are shown alive in MM, all three with Human Ears and other qualities. Also, Keatons, in that game, were monsters. There are two Zora races, River and Sea (using OOA quotes here). They are both very different. It is possible that a branch (not the whole group) became more monsterous slowly. Nintendo commonly uses monsters and races the same way (Zoras, Gorons, Dekus, and Twili) or by giving them very similar qualities.

Edit: Sorry, I misread your post.
Where were these "living" Ikanians? (Is that even the right word? I always called them "Ikana.")
MM. The farther who turned into a Gibdo, his daughter, and the Thief who takes the Bomb Bags on the First Night in Clocktown.
The Professor and his daughter were from Clock Town. I distinctly remember someone saying this.
And Sakon wasn't from there either. He just moved there because it was barren and deserted, and would make a good place for a hideout.
Gerudoooooo. <3
Although I do really like the Rito. Shame it isn't there, as has been pointed out.
Those three aren't Ikanans. The kingdom of Ikana has fallen quite a while ago and only a few undeads and some ruins are left.

So can we vote for them or not?
QuoteThe word "tribe" in the Zelda games is used interchangeably with the word "race." I remember numerous times in TP when the Gorons and Zoras were referred to as "tribes."
That's because they ARE tribes. The Gorons in TP are obviously a
different tribe from the ones in OoT. The ones in OoT lives closer to the crater (in TP the crater is always far in the background), they are ruled by a Big Brother, not a patriarch, etc. The Zora tribe in TP is probably the same as the one in OoT and ALttP, but I believe there's probably other Zora tribes as well.
QuoteAlso, Keatons, in that game, were monsters.
The Moblins, Dairas, Goriyas and Bokoblins are also 'monsters'. They should still be counted as races. Those other types of monsters, like Tektites and Octoroks, are closer related to animals. The Keatons, however, wear clothes and wield weapons.
Evilslayer, they are referred to as the "Zora Tribe" and the "Goron Tribe." I also remember hearing "tribe" refer to the Kokiri in TWW, and the Sheikah in OoT, not just one particular group within them.
I was torn between Shiekah, Zora, and Rito. >:
And the Twili and... yeah. I like Gerudo, too. And the Minish. >W< I should have put all. D:
I loved the Shiekah, even if they had a limited appearance. Zoras... just.... rock. owo; And Rito = birds, therefore they win 809 points for me. And... I like Skull Kids, but I doubt that's a race. (That, and things without faces make me happy. owo;)
It used to be the Zora, but now I prefer the Rito. Majestic, powerful, honor-bound people. Gotta love 'em. The Zora come next, for the same reasons, except not as majestic. In third come the Gerudo, 'cause amazons and deserts are cool. Plus the Arabian theme; I love Arabian themes.
I choose the Kokiri, but I also like the Zoras and Twili.

The Kokiri and Sheikah in particularly ARE tribes. Also, how do you know Zora is the name of a race? With the exception of OoA (which was made by Capcom) all the Zoras so far are in the Death Mountain Area.
As for the Gorons, I can't remember them ever referring to all Gorons as a tribe. They speak of
the Goron tribe.
QuoteThe Kokiri and Sheikah in particularly ARE tribes.
Saying the Sheikah and Kokiri
are tribes only helps you if you can prove "races" and "tribes" are different.
QuoteAlso, how do you know Zora is the name of a race? With the exception of OoA (which was made by Capcom) all the Zoras so far are in the Death Mountain Area.
Because they are also referred to as the "Zora Race," perhaps?

Exactly my point. If they are the "Goron Tribe," and seeing as how the race is referred to as the "Goron Race," then that kind of suggests they're the same, no? Having a tribe within a race with the same name doesn't make much sense, does it?
Their tribe doesn't have a name because the developers were too lazy. Like with Hyrule Castle. They're the only Goron tribe in the game, so why not. I've never seen 'Goron Race' being used in the games.
The same goes for 'Zora Race'.
Were they not both referred to as "races" in OoT?
Not to my knowledge...
Why are the Twili not on here? I demand justice. Anyway I vote for the sheikah, a race of ninjas with red eyes is just awsome.
On the race/tribe thing. A tribe is a group of people. A race is a physical caracteristic. The Souix and the Apache were both diffrent indian tribes, but they were both the same race.
The Hylians are a diffrent race than Humans because of the pointy ears. However, the Hylians in Hyrule and the Hylians in Termina are diffrent tribes.
All these things on this list are races

Maybe because the poll was started way before TP was released... :-*

Cresent Moon Island? Thats an Island in WW, but it's completly deserted.
No thats an island in OoA where the Tokay live.

Nope. The topic was started Jan 12 2007. TP came out in like November of 06
