i like all but i mean the tri-focre in ocarina of time 8) :)
Let's see, Ganon's piece of the Triforce is Power, Zelda's is Wisdom, and Link's is Courage.
Also, the Triforce is just a mere item, albeit a powerful item. For all practical purposes, each piece of the Triforce is the same for me. So here's the question I'm going to answer: Which value represented by the Triforce do you value most?
I value all of them. To me, the Triforce is about the balance between Power, Courage, and Wisdom. You must be wise to know what courage is. There are three things about power you should be wise about. One, you must be wise about the limits of your power. Two, you must be wise to know that if you don't exercise your power, it will corrupt you. Three, you must be wise to know that there is more than one type of power. You must be courageous to seek out both power and wisdom. And you must have the mental power to be both courageous and wise.
Eh, wisdom might look like there's more to it, but once you think about it, it is somewhat balanced.
The Light Force! I mean, if that alone can give me godlike powers....^^
I don't think I'm interested in the ToC. I got plenty of courage already. Power would be nice considering it can keep me alive in situations that'd kill everyone else. If wisdom means "having knowledge" and "being smart" too, I mightgo for that though. Got a test tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it.
i wish i could be link because i need courage

Wisdom isn't knowing a bunch of stuff. It's more like knowing when and how to use the knowledge you have.
am going for power 8)
yeah, wisdom isn't knowledge. You can be a wise idiot and a foolish genius.the way I define it:
knowledge: knowing useful facts, numbers, and such.
wisom: Knowing how to use that knowledge in a creative way to make good decisions and get through situations.
but yeah, I would go with wisdom.
i'd say power...
i mean if you have power, who needs courage or wisdom?
Ganon did. He got the power, but wasn't wise enough to use it correctly, and was corrupted.
well, if i had power, that wouldn't happen...
I wouldn't be so sure about that....Power does things to people...
okay, i kinda see what you mean...
and, I quote the Hero Shade:
"A sword has no power unless the hand which wields it has courage."
Ganon hardly ever uses a sword :).
I'm definetely going for power. Sure, I know power can totally mess me up, but it's the best I can get out of the three.

in the elder scrolls you can make a sword have power
EX.fire sword :)

And a similar asium: Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I desire no parts of the triforce. There seems to be little point in wanting something that you already possess.

That is not exactly what the saying means.

yes, not to mention this is an entirely different game....
I vote Link's, courage is the best virtue to have in my opinion.
i pick all so i can have all the power
i guess know one thinked of that
Um, I sort of did. I said I value all of the virtues that the Triforce represents.
i guess i did not read that :)
I'd choose Link's peice; I have power and wisdom but not the courage to use it.......
but without power, what could your courage accomplish? and without wisdom, how would you use the power well? and without courage, how would you be brave enough to test your wisdom? It's a repeating triangle, everything has a strength and weakness. That's why you have to decide what you need more based on who you are now. I could use more wisdom.
Oh, I understand. I guess each has their weaknesses and strengths, I'd still choose courage or maybe wisdom. It makes my head hurt :'(.
Everything has strengths and weaknesses. It's just about balancing them out.
exactly, what you need most.
Which is why Ganondorf will never win, he has no wisdom to control his immense power.
Link is the only one that can hold all 3 pieces in perfect balance, as he did in ALTTP at the end.
And Link doesn't have the power to defeat him, yet he always manages to do so...
i sooo need link's courge
i changed my mind... i need wisdom... im always tripping over things :-*
but then again im not that strong either... ahh!
i changed my mind again ;)
Well, wisdom doesn't exactly stop someone from being a tad bit clumsy.
I'll just take all 3, ok? :)
actually Alex, if you have trouble making decisions, maybe having wisdom could help with that...and the reason Link always beats Ganon even though he doesn't have power is because of the Master Sword, Evil's Bane. Except for ALttP where he used Silver Arrows...
Ummm... I think the master sword was called the 'sword of evil's bain' in LttP...
"On cataclysm's eve..."
well yeah, he used the sword in ALttP, I'm just saying he needed the arrows as well.

Both swords indeed help Link, but I have a hard time believing those swords, which sometimes are completely useless, are the complete key to defeating someone who is already incredibly powerful without the ToP. And the Silver Arrows were used in TLOZ as well, btw.
Well the sword helps to seal Ganon away, so to some extent he does need it. and I did not know about LoZ, been forever since I played it.
In ALttP Link retrieves the Master Sword to defeat Agahnim, NOT Ganon. The only weapon that can defeat Ganon in that game, and the first, are the Silver Arrow.
Anyway, this topic reminds me of the clash between cold iron and hot iron. I'll quote what I quoted on another forum to explain what those terms mean.
QuoteThe more heat you use to temper iron and the faster it's chilled, makes it harder, but also makes it brittle. If you take raw iron (aka cold iron) and hammer it, it will shape better because it's soft and will absorb the blow and spread the tensions and last a long time. So hot iron means, even if you're full of life and ferocity it doesn't matter, once things get tough you will break off and die out. Cold iron means you are made stronger by your hardships and won't die out when the going gets tough for you.
Therefore...
Power= Hot iron
Wisdom= Can be either
Courage= Cold iron
You could say this is why Ganon is always defeated by Link. History shows that most times -- 3/4 out of 5 times, I think -- cold iron beats hot iron.
So, I'd definitely choose either Wisdom or Courage. Wisdom is my favourite, though. And if I add Courage, and with that the right types of Power, I'm cold iron.
QuoteI desire no parts of the triforce. There seems to be little point in wanting something that you already possess.
The Triforce is more than just that. According to TotG, ALttP's Japanese brother, each Triforce has a crest, or soul. So, them having a small but powerful portion of the power of the Gods may not be such a big mistranslation after all. :-*
Courage. I... need it. -lame-
Zelda's. With knowlage, you can rule a country. A country with people of Courage and people of Power. Wisdom rules!
BLUE POWER! BLUE POWER!
Wisdom isn't knowledge, though. Wisdom is more like the application of knowledge to benefit others.

Such as ruling a country.
True, but not necessarily. After all, even an ignorant fool can be wiser than an educated man.
They can be, yes, but...
OK, whadaya want to hear me say? ;)
What do you have to say? I'm just saying wisdom isn't knowledge, nor do you need a lot of knowledge to be wise.
...
OK, I've got nothing...
