Anyone here ever see any of mel gibson movies? My favorite would have to be the Passion of the christ, I remember an episode from the simpsons where they made fun of the movies and called it the fassion of the christ, lol.
I really did not like the Passion of the Christ as it was basically two hours of Jesus getting the tar beaten out of him. But I love alot of his movies, Braveheart (despite the historical inaccuracy), The Patriot (which I show parts of in class because there are actually some facts in the movie), all the Mad Max movies, Maverick, and all the Lethal Weapon movies.
How could you not like the passion of the christ? It was so sad, but it was really good, how do you not like it?
Because as South Park called it, it was like a snuff film. I do not need to see a movie on how Jesus was treated to reaffirm my faith in him. When you have to be beaten, wear a crown of thrones, carry a heavy cross, and then have nails put through your feet and hands...I do not need to see it, I know you suffered.
Well, that is true, but its still a very good movie, yet the loser cridicts(probably spelled wrong) think different, I mean, how did that get rated R, when the fourth harry potter movie was rated PG13?
Well the critics do not make the ratings, cannot remember what exactly the group is called that does it. But come on all the violence in the movie I am surprised it did not get a NC-17 rating. I will never forget the part when he was getting whipped and a piece of his flesh came off and flew. All the blood and violence made it a R movie.
I know, but harry potter should have been rated R too, cause of all the witch craft, and to top it all off, they showed a kid dying in it. I think critics are just evil like that.
Not really, although I have never seen Harry Potter (or ever will) look at Star Wars Episode III, you had tons of dead kids in that, and a guy get his arms and legs cut off and that was PG-13.
I know, ok, back to mel gibson, the only movie I've never seen of his is maveric, has anyone seen his version of hamlet? I did, a long time ago, but I don't remember it, so I just got it on dvd, and Im ready to put it on after our play saturday, lol.

Sorry to stray off topic, but if Harry Potter was rated R because they showed magic in it, I would hunt down the group who gave it that rating and give them a demostration of what would be suitable of an R rating. Also, keep in mind that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was rated PG, yet they showed Professor Quirrell dying (remember, he turned into dust and crumbled? That's pretty much dying). Then there's Disney's The Lion King, with the death of Mufasa.
Anywho, back on topic, I haven't really watched any of Mel Gibson's movies, but I wouldn't mind watching Braveheart. Maybe this summer when I have time.
