Title: Hero's Shade & The Howling Stone Songs
Post by: Eralk Fang on January 22, 2007, 05:13:08 PM
A major sticking point in the debate over the identity of the Hero's Shadow in Twilight Princess is the Howling Stone songs. What songs are they, and do they have any clues pertaining to the Hero's Shade's identity? I've managed to find all of the Howling Stone songs, courtesy of The Hylia. I've titled them with their file names, and just highlight and paste the URLs.

Mystery Song

The last two seem to be original compositions for Twilight Princess.

I think these songs point to the Hero of Time himself as the Hero's Shade. However, I can see where having a song from Wind Waker could throw all these songs out the window as clues for identifying the Hero's Shade. It's either that or the Hero of Time is a songwriter, as Potato_King said in another thread.

Any thoughts or song identifications (specifically, the Wind Waker song)?

Well...there are some people who say TWW comes first, though I doubt that and don't believe it's true.

it wont play TWW song for me. perhaps the song could be an old one passed down, and it just isn't used in the games til TWW.

and also remember that in the wind waker all the songs are learned from stones, so they existed after TWW, even the ballad of gales which stone was broken.

I agree with Shikamaru..
Maybe the song that is found in WW is originaly from TP, but first heard in WW... I don't think TP is after WW either :)

yay! for once people agree with me! lol. You have to remember, that even if the WW was made first and that was the first game MADE with the song in it, it doesn't mean it's the first game in the STORYLINE to have it.

Shikamaru Nara, perhaps you just need QuickTime, or update your QuickTime? That's what I'm "viewing" the .mp3s as.

I don't think that song's from TWW. It has a similar feel to the title theme, but it's not the same song.

Evahn, that's what I was thinking. It's stylistically very similar (especially the background music), but it doesn't quite sound like anything I encountered in Wind Waker. The closest thing is the opening theme, like Shikamaru Nara said. Of course, there's the possibility I am completely blanking out on the song that it actually is... hmm.

That is really good work Eralk Fang.  I never go to the Hylia, but it is supposed to be a good site.

It is possible that the music team based it off TWW's title.
