For those of us of the yuletide persuasion, I have the following inquiry: what are you asking for for Christmas (or, any other holiday that occurs next month)?
Hoping I get a DS for Christmas, along with Metroid Prime Pinball and/ or Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.
Maybe some paintball stuff too. That's about it I guess.
I have a load of stuff that I want and probably won't get but here's the good stuff.
-scanner
-pc speakers
-Okami(PS2)
-Burnout Revenge(PS2)
-Gamecube
-Wind Waker & SMBM
-A new t.v.(The screen is as big as a small pillow)
-Cash...lots of it.
-Animal Crossing:Wild world
There was more but I bought them with my money earlier.
Maybe an IPod. How much does one of those run these days? If I had a computer that worked well, I might get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.
Good choice SL, KoTOR II is a great game (though the ending is... well, you'll see).
As for me, I'm getting a Palm Pilot T|X (can play MP3's, videos, and do the normal Palm-y things). A few games (SW: Battlegrounds 2, Shadow the Hedgehog), some DVDs (like The Critic), and a few other things.
They never put any of the good Star Wars games out for GameCube. It makes me angry. Rogue Squadren games are fun, but I was disapointed with Rebel Strike, which I got last Christmas. They cut down WAY too much on the flying missions and focus too much on the pilot running around on the ground shooting people. The ground fighting is underdeveloped and not much fun. I could see it being better being like a good first person shooter, but it is that third person mode where the camera doesn't follow the guy around the room. The best part of Rebel Strike is the Co-op and Dogfight modes. Co-op uses the missions from RS: Rogue Leader, which are entirely air missions, and frankly a lot better.
What about Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast? That's for Gamecube, and I have it; it's awesome. I mean, running around in first person is fun alone, but then you add in a third-person mode with a lightsaber and force powers and its just.... wow. There's literally roomfulls of enemies for you to completely annihilate using force Grip or Lightning or just plain hacking away with the lightsaber.
Overall it makes for a pretty good Star Wars experience. No flying, though.
I just got Rouge Leader a week or two ago, it's a great game. I've done the Battle of Endor mission around forty times, jsut because I like flying around and dogfighting to the music from the battle in RoTJ. Very dramatic.
I got Jedi Outcast a loooong time ago for the PC, another amazing game. Have you played Jedi Academy, the sequel? It improved a lot on the Jedi parts of the game, and the combat was great fun, though a lot harder to implement with a mouse and keyboard than with a controller, I imagine.
Well, I haven't played Jedi Academy yet, but I hope to get it some day. If and when I do, it'll be on PC; I actually have Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II for PC and I don't mind the controls too much... Though I don't really know about the Force Powers. You use the function buttons for Force Powers in Dark Forces II, but I think that takes a little too much time to select them. But, if anything, I could always use my gamepad and set the controls to my liking.
You use WASD to move in Jedi Academy (and Outcast) and can set the other letters to the powersd. For example, I set Q and E to Push and Pull, respectively, so they're right there.
Oh, good! 'Cause I have yet to use any force powers at all in Dark Forces II for the lack of convenient control settings.
But maybe I'm just too lazy to set the controls myself. Oh well.
Oh the Jedi Knight Games! I own both of those! I love them! I haven't been able to play Academy for a while ever since I took out my old graphics card and haven't been able to get the new one working. I have been without a good graphics card since summer. I wish I knew more about computers.
