I saw Epic Movie tonight. It was fairly okay, and had some very good parodies, but it also had a lot of really stupid moments. It was better than Scary Movie 4 though, and is worth seeing.
Frankly I am sick of these kinds of movies, parodies are good but only when done the right way. Having two of these kinds of movies come out a year where all they do is make fun of recent movies is pointless.
yes, they should take the time to produce decent films...but when they are a guaranteed success because of past films, why bother? Hollywood doesn't think about the future.
I haven't seen Epic Movie, but I'm tiring of parodies that try to parody every big movie that has come out recently. I mean, Borat is certainly a big movie, but it's not an epic, so why parody it in a parody of the epic film genre? And it wasn't made the writers were sitting around and thought parodying epic films would be funny, it's because they were thinking of the box office.
I love satire and parody to death, but it is getting so hard to find good ones...
I think Epic Movie looked stupid, as did Scary Movie 4. All it is a a pointless movie that makes other good movies look stupid. I mean, sure, there were funny moments in Scary Movie,but generally, i didnt like it too much.
I'm going to see it in about 5 hours.

borat didn't play a big part, though he did have a funny part at the ending. he was only in it for about ten seconds.
Scary Movie and the all the movies that have come from it are total crap. Those movies should have laugh tracks, because I'm never really sure what's supposed to be funny.
mostly you have to see the movies that it parodies to understand it, like some jokes in Epic Movie I didn't understand but other peole did, becuase I hadn't seen the movie.
I've seen the movies they make fun of, but it's still not funny to me. I've seen all of those movies Epic Movie parodies, but it still looks like crap to me.
I actually just got home from seeing it. I thought it was hilariously funny at some parts and in others it frankly sucked... but it was deffinately worth seeing.

its worth watching as long as you've seen Narnia, Pirates 2, Willy Wonka, and basically any recent relatively well known movies. same as always with those movies.
I'll wait for Epic Movie 2...which should be out in about 2 months as that is about as long as it takes to make this kind of garbage.
you are right about it sucking in some parts and being really good in others. Sometimes it made me want to cry it was so pathetic, but other times it was great.

I went to see it with Pyrgus and a group of friends. I could not stop laughing. Somtimes though it was pathetic, but I really enjoied it. Other paroidies include harry potter, davinci code, and nacho libre. XD

personally, i hate sequels. a series is ok or a trilogy but i just hate things like "Cinderella 2" where they just add on to a already finished story.

Which is sad but true, apparently Epic Movie was number 1 in the box office this week. Of course, there was not many good movies to choose from but to think alot of people went to see Epic Movie...and people wonder why the education of America is declining.
no, it's not making us stupider, it's just proof we've become stupider....I only went to see it because my friends weren't into stuff like Freedom Writers, which I wanted to see. Plus, I hoped Epic Movie would be good.

Normally I would be interested in Epic Movie because I do like parodies, but after seeing Scary Movie I'm reluctant. The people who made that movie seem to think you have to resort to all manner of vulgarity and nastiness to be funny. What could have been very humorous parts were ruined with scenes so explicit that at times I felt more like I was watching a porno.
Those of you who have seen both movies, would you say that EM is more vulgar, less vulgar, or about the same as SM?
Epic movie was too different from the Scary Movies (more language and sexual content), but overall it was about 4/5.

Well, the Willy Wonka movie just wasn't good because it didnt live up to the book. And Willy was a realy creep, not at all Wonka-ish.
Oh, and the Jackass movies were just dumb because I don't enjoy seeing people acting like idiots...
I thought Wonka was great, it seemed more realistic for him to be creepy if you look at his background, which I'm glad he actually has in this movie.

Yeah, Napolean Dynamite is a giant steaming pile of crap. The acting was pretty good, but my god, what a terrible movie. Nacho Libre was crappy too.

Willy Wonka (character) did scare me when I was forced to watch it with my cousin. Sometimes I don't want to eat chocolate because of his freakiness.
Exactly, and not only that, when the other children were harmed when they didnt listen to Willy, I didnt find it funny, I found it cruel and disturbing.
