AGAIN :'( How many times does this have to happen to me? Im so sick of it all!! Never again, I go through this everytime! I just found out that somebody i truly love does weed. When I asked her if she would stop, she said she's not changing. And she wont even tell me she loves me anymore. Im just so sick of it all.... I wont be on for a while...
Sorry to hear that man, but unfortunatly you have to wait these things out. Alot of times people won't listen or admit that it is a problem but eventually they will realize they are making a mistake. Just give it some time and distance and I am sure things will work out. You always have all of us here to take your mind off things and attempt to cheer you up.
wow man I'm sorry...I've had a lot of problems with people I like too...I've seen a lot of friends go down the drain...At least you haven't been wrapped up in it, some people are desperate enough to start doing drugs so they can keep the person...I'm here if you need to talk...

well just because they do drugs doesnt mean they arent good people man, ive liked tons of girls that were like that and they are some of the best friends i have
1. Im lucky my dad made my sister do her homework, or I (like I said) would not have been on for a long time.
2. It's not that fact that she did drugs that makes me worry. it's that facts that i said "Listen, I have never begged you to do anything, but Im begging you right now, dont ever smoke weed! Its real bad for you, and it's just messed up." She said that she wasnt going to change, and she started getting all sarcastic. She loves her weed more than she loves me, thats how I put it.
You poor thing, God all my relationships have been so simple and ended so simple. I guess I really don't have any experience to know what to say but if you ever need to talk, we're all here.
I hate to say this but if she puts drugs before you, she may not be worth it.
That said if you truly feel you love her, it might be worth it to keep with her and try to help.
Sorry I can't be very useful.
(Oh and sorry about AIM, I didn't see it until just now...)
Oh, my gosh, ZV... How terrible! :-*
She would ACTUALLY go for weed instead of you!? That's one of the stupidest things a girlfriend/boyfriend could do to his/her boyfriend/girlfriend! I mean, she's missing out on someone great, and all because of drugs! That's just sad...
I'm with TZ on this one. Of course, if you still have very strong feelings for her, do what you think is right. Keep persevering and trying to get her off of that stuff. Who knows: she might stop and evade the dangers involved with weed.
Yeah...I'm not very much help, too, am I? :(
Anyway, just remember that we're all here for you, man! You'll get through this! Don't lose hope!
yes...you can't give up on someone on the wrong side of the tracks...stay with her and try to help her change, eventually if she cares for you she will see how much it is hurting you, then she will stop and think about it....stick in there man. If she is going to pick pot over you, she doesn't deserve someone like you.
It's depressing. I feel like I cant eat. Im good at masking it in front of friends and family. I can laugh real hard, but not find anything funny. I tried to take a nap while my sister got online, butn I find it impossible to even take friggin nap with all of this weighing on my mind. I met her when I went into 8th grade, and we've been together for what seems like forever. And for her to just do this to me... It's as if she has no concious at all! Im totally baffled by it.
Im prepared to drop the bomb, and tell her we shouldnt talk anymore. I love her more than than life itself, and dying for her would be easy. But when you dont get the same vibe you put out, you feel lower than the dirt in your lover book. Im lower than weed, which is even lower than dirt. You guys are a big help. You might have even helped me make my final decision on what to do here. There have been plenty of girls that have asked me out, and i turned down like 3 of them for this one girl... I feel like I might have missed out on something better.
ZV, I feel that this is the best advice I can give you, whether you are Christian or not: Pray. Pray that you can find the best choice for you, whether it's to break up with her or not. Pray that you can still be friends afterwards. Most of all, pray that she can get over her addiction and discover that you are so much better than a temporary high. If you do break up with her, maybe she will miss you enough to see how badly marijuana has affected her life, and stop.
I don't have a lot of experience dating, only two weeks with a girl who didn't even like me but thought she could use me, but I do know that God can help.

Dude, that is the MOST untrue thing I heard all day. Do not EVER think that! You may feel that way, but that is NOT true. You can't base your status (need of a better term) on how someone else prioritizes things.
I repeat: DO NOT THINK THAT. IT IS NOT TRUE.
Thanks Shikamaru. That might actually work. I'll give it my all, because even if she's not the one for me, i would still like her to quit. I've been resisting temptation for 3 years now. I guess some people are stronger mentally than others. I cant really blame her. I should have been there to pull it out of her mouth, and stomp it into the ground. Still, Thanks guys, it helps, all of it.
no problem. let me know how it turns out, okay?
EDIT: By the way, man, I''ll be praying too.
Well, magmar, It's not my opinon, It's her's. And thanks for the reassurance, and I am in fact a big christian. Thanks for your prayers.
You say it's her opinion? Well, even so, don't fall under the influence of that poisonous opinion. The advice from my last post still holds true: Do not falter from helping her by listening to negative opinions like that.
I remember a part from Fever Pitch that could come in useful...the guy is trying to decide whther to give up going to every Red Sox game for the girl, and this kid on the team he coaches asks him, "You love the girl and the Red Sox, but have the Red Sox ever loved you back?" So maybe if you asked her that...except replace Red Sox with weed...it could get her thinking. I think the most important step to her quitting is for her to actually step back and think about it anyways.
Well, I'm probably gonna get off until maybe later tonight, I have stuff to do...
Nice one! Great one, i'll use that, thanks!
Just glad to help! *logs off and goes to the livingroom* "See Ma, Television isn't evil!"
SN, that's actually a very smart quote! Nice job salvaging it! :D
I store a lot of stuff in my head...without a brain, there's lotsa space! So yeah, gotta go, bye.
Lots of people do drugs, but there's still plenty of people that don't.
Perhaps she should decide what is more important: doing weed, or being with you? However, perhaps you should decide what is more important: being with her, or being with someone that doesn't do weed?

yeah, and its not like mary jane is comparable to cocaine or E. the worst thing that comes from it is munchies and loss of recent memory. it also depends if she smokes day in and day out so shes like a zombie (which probably would be noticeable that she did pot in the first place)
If I may add my two cents?
My god, do you listen to yourselve's people? You all sound like a freaking after-school special!
There's nothing wrong with pot. It's if you move on to the harder stuff that things go wrong. Pot, what are the actual health risks? It seems as if we are exaggerating because the word 'drug' is so taboo, and especially with pot. Now, I have not smoked pot (not yet at least...) But I've known quite a few who do, and also a few who smoke cigarettes. I do not find anything wrong with how people choose to live their lives. Pot is relatively soft compared to the other stuff out there like Heroin and Coke.
There's very little wrong with actually smoking pot. I don't really understand the full reason behind why pot is itself, illegal. They go off on big raids for something that hardly even matters. Just try to stay with her for a bit longer. If she or anyone else gets incridebly violent, or incredibly addicted, so much to be on a collision course with self destruction, THEN I'd be worried. But Pot, pot's nothing, it's hardly anything at all.
I'm pretty sure that Marijuana is not addictive. Unless I've got my facts all messed up.
actually anything can be addictive. It's just not AS addictive as other drugs. and yes, it does have bad effects on health. Not to mention the right-away effects that could kill you, since you are out of your mind and everything.
That's why, if you're smart, you don't smoke it. Happy Brownies anyone?
Gimme a list of those health risks, eh? Enlighten us on what actually happens to your physical health with pot.
Well, there's lung problems. But like I said, that's only if you smoke it.
yes. not to mention addiction, then buying the stuff takes a huge lump of cash...
plus, you run the risk of dyin gevery time you take it, you aren't in your mind, who knows what you would do.
Actually, compared to other stuff like Coke, crack, and Heroin, Pot is CHEAP. It really is. Hey, you could die at any given moment. So people are afraid of pot? Let them be. But let others live their own lives. I don't think it's about pot inasmuch that people think "ZOMG ITSS A DURRRRRG! STMAP AIT DWON MAN KIK UT DE NOOBS!"

Marijuana itself is less addictive than alcohol. The reason people get hooked is because it's usually laced with other drugs.
Quoteplus, you run the risk of dyin gevery time you take it, you aren't in your mind, who knows what you would do.
The same thing applies to alcohol.
I'm not saying getting drunk is good either. Look, this isn't what this topic is about, we should make a different topic for this if we want to discuss it.
Yeah, I guess you're right. Still, doing pot isn't the evil thing that Zelda Veteran thinks it is.
Okay. I need to set this straight. He isn't saying pot is evil and he hates her for it. He is saying she is putting the pot before him. I think noone should post until he gets back now, this is his topic, and we have been posting quite a bit of irrelevent material...lets just yell at each other on the battlefield...
It's not the fact that she's putting pot before him; it's the fact that he's trying to force her to stop using pot, because of the percieved negativity of it.
Most of the negativity surrounding pot is due to propaganda, nothing else than propaganda. In fact, Pot is actually SAFER than quite a few common and legal drugs, believe it or not.

*gives ZV a hug* *crys* STUPID ILLGEAL DRUGS
Thanks howl! (hugs)
And thanks guys, but for the last time, It's not the weed that worries me! It's the fact that i begged her to stop, and she still hung on to the weed! She loves her weed more than me, which is what creeps me out. I've said it before, so before any of you start saying that slowly killing yourself isnt a bad thing, think about what im saying. Im going to college, getting a degree, and a high paying job so that I can support the woman I fall in love with, and possibly raise a family. I've been told by many reliable sources that smoking drugs doesent help that kind of dream.
and those reliable sources are definitely reliable then.
I hear what you are saying ZV and it is unfortunate. When someone chooses an addiction over other people, especially those that care for them, it is tough. I have seen it before. You just have to wait it out and hope that she will realize that if she continues down her path she could easily end up alone and broke. Just have faith that she wises up. Plus we are all here for you bud.
I'm behind of what brugby's saying 100%. Just keep trying to help her, pray, and hope for the best. And, once again, we're here for you, man. We've got your back.
"Sometimes the people that hurt us most...are the people who are closest to us." I really do not entirely remember where I heard that, but I definitely agree with it.
Whoever said that is right. It's because a heart wound is much worse than a flesh and blood wound. It can have devistating effects, and can result in suicide. Good thing Im stable enough not to commit suicide. Some people commit suicide over the stupidest things. And I wonder what she does when she's depressed. I have a family like you guys to fall back on when Im down. I wonder what she does... I think it would be a good idea to call her and sort things out tomorrow morning.
Well if she is anything like me that is probably when she smokes the most. I drink the most when I am depressed and I know I have a drinking problem. However, if you really want to talk to her, do not call her up go see her face to face, maybe then she can not only hear how much you care for her but she can see it in your face.
ZV, I know the response is a little late, but I just wanna add my thoughts to the mix.
I'm terribly sorry to hear what you're going through, but that doesn't mean that it can never be reversed. Try and talk to her some more; try and get her to realize that waht she's doing is incredibly stupid and possibly dangerous. You can be the one to save her from it, ZV, just never EVER give up hope, always keep trying.
And, as I'm a big Christian, I will say this: Pray everyday for her to wisen up, and know that my prayers and everyone else's here will be with you as well.
I've said it before, so I'll say it again. YOU ALL SOUND LIKE ONE BIG AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL! Heh, You can't force people to change, gotta realize that, it's not that she chose pot over him; it's that ZV believes the bad things about pot. Heh, he's making effort for something that won't work out in the end. Face up to it, If you think you can make people change instantly, and restrict them from living their lives however they will, of course she's going to want to get away from you. Take my advice man, forget about her, heh, if you're really so concerned, forget about the whole thing.
Otherwise, you'll be stuck in the same rut. Neither you nor her are mature enough to realize what's going on, you're naive thinking you can force people to stop something like that. CHange comes from within. No point in going about this still.
You know what DPM, Im not listening to your advice. I know you understand, because I've talked to you over AIM, and you know what this is about, yet you choose to criticize the people who try to help.
I just wanna add that Marijuana DOES have harmful side effects. Many of them. If you want me to say them, I can, but I really don't wanna because it may make things worse for ZV.
Actually a list would really help. Maybey I could point it out for her. Go ahead MK.
Don't forget to cite your sources!

Hmm... I'm not so sure about sterility, and information on the rate of loss of blood flow and lung cancer would be nice.
most of those other symptoms are also true of most other drugs out there, even those OTC, those side effects are quite common. Heh, and outlawing it because you get the munchies sounds like very flawed logic to me. Hey, distortions in time are an effect of getting high, just don't exaggerate the incidence of symptoms.
Thanks a bunch man, This helps. I'll be sure to use this next time I talk to her over AIM

weed was outlawed because of the racial stereotype that blacks smoke pot
i dont know if this episode of bullsh!t states that but proves a lot of "facts" about marijuana are false, and can help cure things such as anorexia and ease the pain of cancer.

Okay, really, can we stop the debate? I'm sure the last thing ZV needs is for us to get ticked at each other over one of his problems...we are here to help him, not to argue.
Good point, so either someone else post something helpful, or ZV or a mod should lock this topic.
yeah, I'll lock this. Thanks guys :)
*locked*
is it Zelda Veteran
we thought it was...oh well, the fighting seems to have calmed down...actually, has anything happened yet ZV?
Yeah, when you talk to her, tell us how it turned out if you want.
I thought I locked this :P
And no, I cant get ahold of her. NOW locked. :)
