A few weeks ago my DS broke.
Screen Shattered.
I cryed.
Have any of you broken a gameboy?
a)your spelling sucks and b)you can still play it. I know because i did.
Their spelling is fine. Here's a rundown of my previous gameboy's and my luck with them.
1)GameBoy Advance: R and L buttons stopped working
2) GameBoy Advance SP: Same problem
3) Nintendo DS: See problems above, but add a cracked top screen.
ahh.. whoops. saw the wrong letters i guess. sorry bout that. none of my gameboys have broken unless you count the part that keeps the batteries in.
yes gf suffers from the nintendo curse while i suffer the sony curse. my psx was peed on and doesnt close and my ps2 rarely reads anything
Ouch. I still cant see somebody crying over that, but still, man, my sister would cry too. When i had a gamboy Advance, it worked just fine! When I got my SP, the R button stopped working. There are some games that you really need the R button for, and I found my self with Calased and bruised fingers from pressing the stupid button hard enough to get it to work. Anyways, sell all your games for it, and buy something nice. Thats what i would do anyways. ;)
yes, DS's have a history of jamming buttons...
I haven't had that problem (because I treat all my gaming equipment like invalids...), but I can imagine how much that sucks. Did you have a warranty on it, and is it still covered?
The Wii has a one year waranty because it's new software, or so I was told by the cashier at Best Buy when he woke me up. :P
It was the top screen that shattered. Depressing. I'm trying to get a DS lite though, to replace it. None of my other GameBoys really broke; just the battery packs on the Pocket, Color, and Advanced were loose, so I used tape. And the R button on my advanced and SP stick, but they still work.
And Pyrgus, as for it being playable, it is. But only for tetris; the other games I have need the top screen. WHich you can't see. :-(
Actually, none of my Nintendo handhelds have ever brokedn exceot my DS, which doesnt charge when you plug it in. Maybe I'm just a tad lucky ;)
In days before, the original Game boy was a TANK. I read something in an old Nintendo POwer where the guys at NoA were throwing Gameboys off of the roof to test how much they can stand and how the durability could be improved.
But these days, there seems to be a LOT of problems with the DS, dunno why though. My brother's DS had that crack in the joint, but that was it. Maybe Nintendo needs to come out with more tests and improve the durability of the DS, come ou twith a DS mark 2.
The only trouble I had was losing my original GBA and my first GBA SP, which had a malfunctioning R button anyway, so no lost there.
I wonder if the PSP has ever had any problems... :-\

Haha that's funny. I've dropped all my gameboys on concrete, and they've been fine. Ive even had my SP go through the wash. it still works fine. My advanced got run over by a tri-cycle, which is what broke the battery holder. and the color and pocket have been through a lot. i was pretty amazed when my DS screen broke. It was one of those things where it just fell the right way.
My handhelds have been fine I guess.
The only thing wrong with my DS is the touch screen tends to get kinda scratched but it can't be helped.
My cousin got playdough in my brothers GBA speaker though, and the sound became totally distorted but that was my cousins fault you can't exactly blame Nintendo. :)
Actually, I've dropped my GameBoy Color several times, and it still plays fine. If i had dropped my DS that many times, then it would be snapped in half.
I'm pretty sure my Color has been dropped in mud. . .or was it my Advanced?
;D Either way, it probabaly still works. My Color was dropped in snow and it still worked.
Oh they do. Like I think I;ve stated, my SP (with my blue pokemon version) has been through the wash. Works great. :P
Try putting a DS through the washer, it would explode; you'd need to buy a new one.
Dude, I'm gona try that. Mine's screwed anyway. Might as well have funn with it. :o
Once I accidently dropped my DS into a sink full of water. It would not turn on or anything. I was a little freaked out, but I took the battery out and let it dry while searching Ebay for a new DS. Luckily after a day of drying it worked perfectly.
My DS has a broken scrren cause i dropped it once. The hinges on the die are broken, so it kind of hangs there...at least it's still playable... :'(
I'm just thinking about a few posts back, wouldn't it explode in the dryer, not the washer? The washer is wet, so..anyways, don't try it. No house fires or Smokey the Bear will be all over you.
The funny thing is that I think the handhelds Nintendo makes are sturdier than the 360 and PS3.
Oh, yeah, definently.
You need fans to run the 360 properly so it doesnt overheat (how pathetic is THAT?)
And the PS3 is bound to have some sort of trouble in the future...
they have had trouble, aren't they also overheating or freezing up or something, I heard about that...
I'm not really suree, but i do know for certain that the 360 is terrible, the PS3 is overpriced, and the Wii is just right. Like porridge :P
The only thing good about the 360 that I heard from people was that the graphics were cool.
YeaOkSrsly.
Wii is cooler. Ownage. :P
Ownage to levels unimaginable by mankind...the Wii is the best, hands down.
Amen.
Back to hand-helds. . .
Does anyone know if there will/will not be a new gameboy? Just curious.
It's WAY too soon to tell. I once saw a video on youtube about a couple of guys who did several stuff to their gamecube, even dragging it behind their truck with a rope, and the gamecube was STILL able to play. Of course, they eventually destroyed it by smashing it with a sledgehammer, but it's amazing it could survive such abuse as dragging it at 40+ MPH.
Of course, even the gamecube needs fans to prevent overheating, but no where near as much as the Xbox.
A sledge hammer? Still got the link to that? Lol I would never dream of destroying my GC. Love it too much.
And the whole new Gameboy thing, just wondering.
I'll bet they will. although you will have to give them time, it's gonna take a whie to think of something to top the DS...
Again, just wondering. Someonme told me that the micro was it, but I didn't believe him.
And what can top the DS?
like I said, leave that to them. They'll blow us away somehow, it's what they do.
Here it is, I digged it up from Zeldablog
http://youtube.com/watch?v=FRmPOByeXIw
really funny
I heard the new DS touches you back ;D
yeah, they worked together with Michael Jackson to develop it ;D
:D :D You guys...
But seriously, what do you mean by the new DS touches you back?
Its a joke, because the slogan for the DS is "touching is good"
so the new one touches back.
hope i dont need to explain the Micheal Jackson joke...
(BTW that video had me rotflmao. ;D)
