Piece of advice, when starting a topic like this do not say one sport is better then the other just because you think so, because there is not such thing, your just opening yourself to get flamed. All sports are equal in their own way (with a few exceptions but I won't name them).

I have a lot of friends though who support teams religiously. Most of my friends like Liverpool though, no idea why.

I don't think there is anything wrong with stating which you prefer, you aren't the immature one who will get warnings. Unless you respond the same way that is.
the reason we call it soccer is because we already had a football I think.
I like soccer(football)but I don't watch it much, I just never get around to it, I always have more things to do. It is really fun to play and good exercise though, so I enjoy playing it.
I really don't understand why is called soccer because it uses more the feet than the other football also I think it was created first but it just a doubt I had because here everyone knows it as "futbol". And which is your favorite posistion? I like goalkeeper and playing in the center of the field I don't know the exactly form of saying it in english.
A friend of mine is OBSESSED with soccer. It's not fair... she has no time to spend with friends, and I rarely get to talk to her on AIM, because she's always so busy... She's also the coach of her team, at least, a student-coach...
I like playing Goalie, I'm good at it. I also like being anything else but forward. The guys in the middle are midfielders, typical no? then you have the fullbacks, the defenders in the back. Then there are the stoppers which are defenders who play slightly forward, and the sweeper who plays back even more, in the goalbox usually.
My mom and dad met through soccer, so I almost have to like it. I play fullback, stopper or center mid.
I never play proper club football so I don't really have a position. But I like midfield (if that's what you call it) and defence.
We used to play every break time in primary school!
