OMG SPOILER ALERT
After playing "shadow the hedgehog"
And watching Sonic x episode 36-38 I can't help but feel sorry for this little black (possibly emo) hedgehog.
Even though he's the "ultimate lifeform" his life is kinda sucky.
I mean he lived happily abord "the ark" with his best friend Maria robotnik until the place was raided and destroyed by "G.U.N". Many died. Shadow and Maria try to flee, but she was accidentally shot and killed right in front of poor shadow. On her dying breath she seals shadow in an escape pod and tells him to "Bring hope to humanity" and pulls the lever , sending him to earth.
And everyone tries to destroy poor Shadow.
*sniff* Poor shadow, Poor maria.... :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
8) 8) 8) 8) ::) ::) ::) ::)
That could not be more cliche...
No, my dear friend, I prefer something with MADNESS in their cup of tea.
Why did maria have to die? :( :(
Im just a sucker for emotional stories *wehh*
It's just a common plot element. Kind of overused.
Besides, after being the 700th character designed for the Sonic series, character plots tend to be a little thin.
After all, I have two fanfics. (One that I already finished) And in both of them at least ONE person dies.
Letting someone die is the easiest (not cheapest, btw) way to make the (dead) character "more of a character" and at the same time "improve/keep interesting" the stories for everyone related to the dead character.
From all stories I created, I think there's only one in which no one dies. But of course, some important characters already are dead by the start of the story.
Plus, it adds some drama into the storyline.
Yah like Dumbledore in Harry Potter. :(
Exactly, but it tends to get old.
