This may be a spoiler if you haven't actually played TP yet, so be warned..
Anyway, did anyone notice that there were no Deku's anywhere in TP? I mean, they haven't been in any Zelda games recently? I wonder what happened to them?
Anyone have any ideas?
Dekus only appear in MC, OoT and MM which are in chronlogical order, this could mean they dissapear, if you consider the split timeline theory none of the games in hyrule B have dekus (well I don't really know if they appear in Oracles)
Unless you think TMC was in Hyrule B.
I think it was the first game before OoT and the timeline splits after OoT so it isn't in hyrule A or B it happened before
If you believe it came before OoT. That's not a given. I, for one, don't.
well is just my form of seeing the timeline of zelda and as it isn't a definitive one, everyone has it's own thinking.
I think they're merely laying low- they appear in enough games spread out over my personal timeline (see signature) to make me think they don't really work to stay in Hyrulean society, but pop up every once in a while.

They do appear in OoS. I can't really remember if they were in OoA, but in the past there was a Deku Forest.
They also appear in FSA! That game is probably the second most important appearance of Deku Scrubs.
Anyway, it seems to me Deku Scrubs, being plants, capable of flying (small distances?) and a race that appears to be able to do well in lots of different areas, have a rather good chance of surviving. I doubt they are "gone/dead" in any game.
Unfortunantly, the a very cold winer hit Hyrule and all the Dekus had to be chopped up by the Hylian Lumber Yard and used as fire wood.
lol well that seems very possible.
Mabye the game designers got sick of them?
maybe they got sick of their friends making fun of them for having Deku toys, saying they were playing with wood ;D
:P :P This is not what i expected to become of this topic
you are right, I'm sorry. I'll go get the soap :'(
Man, i think I found a little part of Deku in TP!
Ok, go to the docters office in Castle Town, go straight and turn left. Go to the chair, look at it, and it has 3 leaves like the top of those guard Deku's in MM. :D I think...
I will look into it eventually...so they were all turned to chairs...what a way to go...
Well, it has a design on it. :D
I finally beat sky, so I'm outta there, but now I'm tired so I'll look at it tomorrow...
EDIT: Okay, I looked this morning, and it has the shape of an entire Deku Head carved into it :-[
So they were turned into fine wood based products? Wow, that's pretty sad. Those darn Hylians did this! >:(
So the Deku's haven't disappeared!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
no, they were just mutilated.
Well, there is the Lakebed Temple's miniboss, Deku Toad.
Huh?

Hmm didn't know it was called Deku Toad. Maybe it just likes to eat Deku's...they are quite delicious with Italian dressing
they probably taste like nutlogs.
What are those?
really good snacks. Don't eat too many though :-*

Maybe the Deku
Scrubs just aren't important in the game? The developers doesn't add everything there is. Then the fields would be filled with farmlands and villages (and Kakariko Village would have more than just three inhabitants; Talo say that he don't want to leave
all these people just so he and the other kids can save themselves, so in reality Kakariko Village is inhabited by more than just Renado, Luda and Barnes).
Actually I saw a timeline explaning that The Minish Cap came first in the list, then Oot then MM, then it splits. But to tell the truth I think that the Deku are just in forests, which would explain whay you don't see them much. In the latest games there havn't been many forests.
You've got a point there.
Unless the timeline was made by a Zelda creator staff, it isn't true.
I think he's referring to the GameTrailers theory. Personally, I wouldn't put that much trust into a site that believes that the PSX was superior to the N64 in terms of graphics, or claims that King Gustaf was the hero of men. :-*
Yeah, gametrailors theory was so wrong, with the Oracles in seperate timelines. How did they get that? Just link them!
Yeah, Takun, that site is almost 1 billion% false. I don't really think you should listen to what they say.
Part of the reason people put games before OOT is because they want to be the 'Great Almighty Zelda Timeline Deity' who proved OOT wasn't first. LOZ and AOL were put after OOT by Miyamoto. LTTP and LA are after it for sure. MM is just a little after OOT. TWW and TP are, obviously, after OOT. Oracles: After, meaning ditto with MC, FS, and FSA.
Also, I just realized, this has nothing at all to do with Dekus.

MC has alot of forests. As for TP, though, you're probably right.

Well, there's one forest-- on the way to the Temple of Time, yes? Skull Kid lives in the Lost Woods last time I checked.
Yes, but in the forest on the way to the Master Sword, there were no signs of Deku's anywhere... me thinks maybe they were abolished from the series...
I meant that the forests in TP were small and tiny. There were alot of large forestsin MC.
If the game designers says OOT comes first, it comes first. If they made the sieries they could put what ever they wanted first, so OOT is first. Don't argue with the game designers.
We aren't discussing that anymore, you know.
I personally think they are just hiding out.
Link just doesn't meet them! They aren't dead, they haven't moved, they aren't hiding, etc. There's so much one never sees or hears of, does that mean it doesn't exist? No, because the world is a big place and even the most known place will have spots you have never seen and will never see.
That's a good point that nobosy here seemed to notice, as well... they may be hiding in places that we just can't see or weren't put into the game.
Places only Deku can get to.
Like the Deku Palace, maybe there's a similar place in OoT. >>;
Or maybe they are capable of more magic than meets the eye and are able to be cloaked in invisibility.
