Title: A Tribute
Post by: MasterKeyX on March 08, 2007, 04:57:10 PM
Today, my friends, there was  terrible fire here in New York City. In the Bronx, which is a county of the city, there was a terrible fire that cost the lives of 7 children and 1 adult because the landlord didnt have the proper safety equipment.

So, I wanted to start this topic in honor of those lost. Say a prayer with them in mind tonight, ok?

wow...and they all died because a landlord was too stingy to get decent equipment...I hate when innocent people pay for the stupid people's mistakes... :'(

Well, I don't have a religion, so I don't pray, but my heart is going out to them anyway.

I thank you all. That landlord...the scum of the city, my friends.

You know, I heard that on the news this morning (which is strange because I usually don't watch the news due to stress prevention).

Unfortunately for the innocent, some people think that money makes the world go 'round. And look what happens as a result.

My thoughts are with them.

Oh, I'm sorry. How could one even think of risking lives over a couple hundred dollars? Which is more important?
I know my answer.

Figured I would take a brief absence from my sabatical for this thread. I certainly mourn for all those involved as it is a sad tragedy and something we saw here in Cleveland last year when a house burned down killing 6 children (they had no fire alarms in the house).

It is a sad reality that many landlords practice this inexcusable act of disabiling saftey devices to save money. The landlord should be sent away for the rest of his life or executed (preferably in the same manner as those poor children). If one good thing can come out of this is maybe it will be a wake up call to city officials everywhere to impose more of a strict law on landlords and the saftey of their tenants. I pray for the victims of this senseless tragedy.

Well, my friends, in light of this tragedy, some good did come out of it. The nes station ABC went around to various other homes throughout the city and gave them free saftey devices (like fire alarms and burglarly alarms) to those who could not afford it, or were undfer the same conditions as the home that burned down.

Hopefully, this teaches a lesson and will save some other lives in the future.
