Well I was reading something about the Gerudu tribe on another site saying how in MM they where pirates living ina foretress on the coast of Termina. So could this foretress be the same one that Gannon hides out in? Well in WW Tetra said that a famous band of piarates once lived there. Could the forbidden Foretress actually be the remains of the Gerudu Tribes' hideout before the great flood?
Well, if you put thieves on water, they'll probably turn to piracy.
It's been speculated, and I've posted something in the Phantom Hourglass subforum about the latest trailer: there's a woman fighting Link who looks suspiciously Gerudo.
But there is also proof that the foretress could have been used by the Sheikah. In WW the Sheikah symbol is on the door that leads to Gannon.
The Forsaken Fortress seems to change hands constantly; it's entirely possible that the descendants of the Sheikah are involved in piracy.
EDIT: It's a good thing to call things by their right names.
Why do people always call the Forsaken Fortress the Forbidden Fortress? :P Anyway, I have mixed feelings about either Gerudo's or Sheikah.
Whoops.
I think the Gerudo are more plausible than the Sheikah. Sheikah artifacts are still around in The Wind Waker, but the Sheikah themselves have the problem of having such small numbers such a long time ago, in Ocarina of Time. I's possible that the previous occupants stole some old Sheikah shields and decorated the place, Gerudo or not.
Impa was the last Shiekah, so it would be difficult/almost impossible for the tribe (only her) to produce enough numbers for the Foretress to actually matter.
Termina is another dimension. It cannot be the same as the Foresaken Foretress.
It's never stated that Impa is the last Sheikah. TP proves that she isn't.
Impa's specific family line is mentioned in the first few Zelda games, so we can assume she had children, the other Impas her descendants.
However, there is still only a handful of them, and the Sheikah blood dwindles as we go down the timeline; not enough that a specifically Sheikah band of pirates could exist. A few pirates with Sheikah heritage might have brought in the shields, or they could have been found treasure the current owners of the Fortress liked. The Fortress seems to be a contested piece of property amongst pirates.

That really meant the last living sheikah, not the last ever.
As for Impaz, she's to old to reproduce anymore, so the last KNOWN shiekah is dead. And that's only TP. TWW is another dimension and holds all the other games. And somehow I feel she isn't the Shadow Sage anymore after TWW. Mabye someone else entirely.

Buh? TWW is another...dimension? And..."holds" all the other games?
Another timeline, Akatsuki- Majora's Mask is the one with a different dimension. I would agree with you in assuming there's a different Shadow Sage after The Wind Waker, as Impa's, well, dead.
Some have speculated that one of Tetra's pirates may be a descendant of Impa, due to the fact his counterpart in the royal portrait found in flooded Hyrule is a woman, and outside of immediate family, the only other woman connected to Zelda is really Impa.
Even if that's not true, the line lives on, since the other Impas are related to Sheikah Impa. I'm not saying that the other Impas are in fact Sheikah, but at least have Sheikah heritage.

That's just silly. I'm sure the Princess (in all the games) has multiple female attendants and such. And even if that's not true, assuming all descendants of someone to be the same gender as them is ridiculous.
Fair enough, Commodore Axilon. It could simply be an attendant, and have no relation to Impa.
However, I think you'll agree with me that Impa's bloodline must get through the flood in order to produce the Impas of games set after it, whatever your personal timeline is. Having one of her descendants be that particular pirate keeps the bloodline close to Tetra (and therefore the royal bloodline), instead of the bloodlines meeting up in New Hyrule.
By dimension, I refer to TP being Child Link's world, TWW Adult Link's.
I believe that LTTP is in TWW's world/time. All other games therefore go there, too long to explain why.
I mean that these are jsut randomly named Impas, they don't appear to be connected to the shadow sage after OOT.
I agree with Kannochi (what the?). I really don't think the Impas of the earlier games are related to the OoT Impa at all. Not that your theory doesn't make sense too; there's not really any evidence to go either way.
Timeline is the word you're looking for,
Kannochi, not dimension;
Ocarina of Time is where the timeline splits, just as you say, and we get the two timelines.
The Impas are all related, or at least can be construed as such.
QuoteFor generations, my family has been handed down these things which have been
set aside for a time when a great king will come. They are written in an
ancient script that no-one can read now. But you who have the crest may be able
to read it. It is said that the key to uniting the Triforce is hidden there.
Now it is time for you to read it.
Impa, Adventure of Link manual
Her family's been in service to the Royal Family for generations. Who else has been in service for generations? Impa and the Sheikah. Impa's family may have been the last Sheikah family to continue to serve the Royal Family, if the Sheikah rebelled instead of died out. This brings us to the pirate of Impa's line, who continues the tradition of serving the Royal Family.
The Sheikah blood seems to diffuse throughout the years, leaving the chronologically later Impas with just Sheikah heritage, nothing else.
Blimey, that's weird.
Eh, I concede the point then. You're probably right. It's not like it's something important.
While I have no idea what happened to Impa during Link's seven years of sleep, Sheik states "Im the survivor of the Sheikah."I quickly checked the dictionary and found that survivor means last living relative. When Sheik is reavealed as Zelda's alter ego, what becomes of the Sheikah? Could this mean that there could be no blood-living Sheikah in the Adult-Link timeline? That would mean Zelda in TP was the very same one from Oot (although im sure that has already been proven).
What the? Sheik was never actually a Sheikah. And Impa is still around. Also, once again, there's Impaz.
And how would that make OoT Zelda and TP Zelda the same?
Zelda had to make "Sheik" a living, breathing person, almost a like a second skin. Since there are so few Sheikah around in Ocarina of Time, she may have introduced herself as such to avoid further questioning.
To agree with Commodore Axilon; in the adult timeline, we have Impaz, so the Sheikah have survived.
