so what games should we get first, I'm looking at Kid Icarus and Starfox 64...the zelda games we already have access to, so they won't be priority one at the moment...
Kid Icarus is probably the greatest game you have never played. It's difficulty will make you go crazy at first but once you get the hang of it you will love it, and the music (despite being NES) is one of the greatest ever. There is a reason we are seeing Kid Icarus return on the VC as well as Pit, the main character of the game, appearing in SSBB...expect a return of Kid Icarus games...finally
As for Star Fox 64, it is a great game as well, but not as great as the original SNES game in my opinion, save that 10 bucks for something else, unless you are a die-hard Star Fox fan. I am not but I would rather see the SNES version of Star Fox first. Not to mention Nintendo Power's latest issue mentioned Zelda II coming to the Wii. I figured it was this week as none of the games released were mentioned, but it must be in the up coming weeks and I would rather spend my money on the hardest Zelda game ever made before Star Fox.
Zelda 2? You've been GANNON-BANNED!! It's called Adventure of Link. Sorry, it's like his number 2 rule or something, pretty high up there...anyways, we already have access to that one as well, so we probably won't get it...and I remember playing Starfox 64 as a kid is mostly why I want to play it again, and Kid Icarus sounds great...that will probably be the first thing.
I'd like to see the rest of the main Sonic series come out for the Genesis even though I have the Mega Collection+ with all of the Genesis titles on it.
I currently own Gradius (which I finally beat!), Legend of Zelda (which I also beat) and Sonic the Hedgehog. Personally, I'd much like to see Majora's Mask released on the VC, and Donkey Kong Country 3. Those two games are pretty great.

Personally I don't care what his stupid Gannon-Banned rule thing is, I have called it Zelda 2 (sometimes AoL) since I owned it as a kid and I will continue to call it that cause I don't care about some stupid list someone made.
I would also like to see more Sonic games as I really enjoyed the original when I was a kid (and now) and really liked the Wii and DS Sonic games. Also I would like to point out, do not be surprised in the future you see more systems added to the VC as apparently Japan is already getting another system added on to it soon.
Thanks for the list bgrugby!
I think I want some of those NES games. Most likely Super Mario Bros. or Kid Icarus.
Say what now? NEW SYSTEM?!
YOu think it's the GB?
Hah... Castlevania III would be so nice for everyone to play... as would the original uber-hard original Castlevania, but then again, super Castlevania IV is basically an enhanced remake of that...
And I also agree that the original StarFox is so MUCH more fun than Starfox 64, not to mention MUCH harder. Just try playing through ALL three routes and live to tell the tale. They're quite hard...
Before they release DKC 3, they should come out with DKC 2. Which stays closer to the original DKC, but still makes out for quite a bit of new ground. Awesome music too.
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH
Earthbound, definitely. This game would fit SO WELL with american pop culture, it's got EVERYTHING!
Not to mention the awesome RPG known as Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. Really beautiful game with a really beautiful story, akin to FF 6 and the Lunar Games.
Chrono Trigger....
Yeah, I know too many great games. SO sue me.
Edit: OH DARN! I also forgot about Super Metroid...
The Wii needs Pokemon!
In all seriousness though, there are a lot of good games that are not on the Wii yet. I hope they make it soon.
I personally think it's rather dumb. It's hard to believe that this person think he can set an entire standard of what's permissable in the Zelda community all by himself.
But I don't feel like getting into that right now.
DOUBLE POST!!!!!!!
just wanted to point it out, back on topic y'all
No, violinist, deleted her post.
what did it say?

No, JQ it will be Neo Geo, took me a while to find the article but here it is. And also so far this is only confirmed for Japan.
http://wii.ign.com/articles/767/767123p1.html
Heheh... The Neogeo... I bet not even a QUARTER of the people here would be able to tell the powers of that beast.
Ladies and Gentlemen, The Neo Geo was a console system AND an arcade system. The Console system was simply a copy of the arcade system, being able to play the exact same games. The Neogeo and SNK used to be a freakin' powerhouse when it came to arcade games... at least in Japan. If they ever do release games for that in AMerica, I GHIGHLY recommend checking out King of Fighters. The sprite management of the Neogeo WILL_BLOW_YOU_AWAY. I'm not kidding, folks.
What exaclty is sprite managment? You mean like something to do with pixels?
Anyway. speaking of the Virtual Console, I would really like to see some form of Tetris released, preferrably the original one for the NES.
Tetris.... ;DI swear there is like five tetris games for every system now. It is fun though, I remember there was one where depending on how good you did at Tetris you would get blocks that would go towards building these ancient monuments like a sphinx and stonehenge and such...that was for the 64, I would like to see that...we never did get it finished...
When I Talk about sprites, I mean animations. The NEO GEO could produce some BEAUTIFUL animations, very vivid and very very well detailed and flows beautifully. If you've ever played King of Fighters, You'll know EXACTLY what I mean...
Though there aren't many in america that are familiar with that franchise... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
althoguh hopefully we soon will be, right?
Well the MSX and Neo Geo should be appearing in Japan either the spring or summer so we may get it over hear by years end or early 2008.
Ok in VC news I thought I would share this, these are the top titles that have been downloaded so far from the VC:
Super Mario 64 - 4.19%
Super Mario Bros - 4.12%
Super Mario World - 4.01%
Gunstar Heroes - 3.74%
Mark Kart 64 - 3.59%
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - 3.46%
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - 3.30%
Sonic the Hedgehog - 3.17%
The Legend of Zelda - 3.16%
Kirby's Adventure - 2.65%
So far, Mario 64 is the top downloaded game. The stats are based on how many games are downloaded per 100 VC users. However this could be misleading as Mario 64 has been on the VC since the beginning. To me the only surprise on the list was Gunstar Heroes and I am surprised games like Donkey Kong Country, Kid Icarus, and others did not make the list. If you want to see the whole article go here
http://wii.ign.com/articles/777/777960p1.html
hmm what is this gunstar heroes, for it to be there it must be good, and it is the only one on there I have not played...do you know anything about it?
Gunstar Heroes was a game on the Genesis and was probably one of the most innovative games of it's time. Its a side-scroller that has alot of different elements (combo weapons for instance) in it and one of the few side-scrollers with a really good storyline with it. It is a great game and one I am going to get eventually but I have too many VC games as it is.
I see, that'll probably be the second one we get after Icarus...
Yes, Icarus is a must to begin with. Icarus is one of the greatest 50 games ever made and it must be played if you want to know who Pit is in SSBB. But Icarus may take you a while to beat, so Gunstar Heroes might take a back seat for a while.
I'll play it during breaks ;Dis either one multiplayer?
No, but Icarus is the better game, while it is 8 bit, the main character and enemy were transformed into a cartoon. What more incentive do you need then that with Kid Icarus?
honestly I don't care if it's 8 bit, I still play the original legend of zelda for cryin' out loud...and I really need to see how much Scotty has now, I think he gets allowance in a few days...so we may get both...
I have a hard time with the LoZ second adventure... it's like Omega difficulty level.
but it's still so addictive...I'm almost there...must beat it...
The second adventure ain't that hard if you have enough practice. I beat it with only like 10 deaths or less. And this was ON the COllector's edition disc.
Really? Cause i still didnt beat it, and I have 86 deaths. :P
Well then :PI think you may be one of those in need of a guide.
Dungeon Six is Scary in BOTH. SO MANY FREAKIN' WIZZROBES!
*shudders*
Oh, no, you see, I beat the first quest with 86 deaths. The second quest, i havent died yet, and I'm up to dungeon six.
Ok three new games have been added to the VC, one Sega game, one TurboGrafx game, and one NES game. Nothing too spectacular really, check the list to see what the games are.
Mehhhh, nothing of any real importance to me...
yeah, may be of some interest after I've gone through my priority list though...
It's Monday and you know what that means, three new VC games. Today we get a great, even if it is a remade game for the NES, a fantastic fighter for Sega, and another TurboGrapx game featuring their mascot.
Ah, I think I have played that punch out game before....is it the one with Mike? I remember that as a kid, it was so fun...definitely one to look into...
Virtua Fighter 2 was a crappy downsize of the original arcade. Apparently, Genesis hardware can't support 3-D that well...

Well it is the exact same as Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! However they changed it after Tyson got into his troubles and replaced him with Mr. Dream so it is exactly the same except the last guy you face.
Ah I see. I love that game, good times...I remember that one guy we had trouble beating until we figured out we had to dodge certain attacks...that'll be hecka fun to play again. Also there was a TMNT game I would like to play again for the NES.
Once again, nothing I really know of, so I wont be buying those either.
Wait, so you won't get it because you don't know it? Bad choice. Punch out was a great game. GREAT.
I suppose that would be foolish of me... and was bgrugby banned? Cause we need someone to kepp this topic alive!
That's up Whocares's alley. I'm not the one who issued the order. If you want to talk about his banning, you'll have to talk to him.
But about the topic, somebody (if they want) needs to keep updating it... if they want..
Pretty much any mod who has a Wii, or I could send the mods the new games.
That would probably be a good course of action Shikamaru. I don't have a Wii or intend on getting one since Dr. Rabies lives five minutes away from me and I can go over whenever I want.
I just got Kid Icarus. Its hard. :(
*coughdialupcoughcough*
Oh yeah, Dr. Rabies has dial up. My bad.
Well, I don't have a Wii, but I can find out what new games are released on Nintendo's official site, right? When I get back from classes on Mondays, I could just head over, take a look, and report what I find. To someone. And then they can report it to a mod. Because if I have to PM it to a mod, I'll be losing a bit of my sanity with my stupid inbox trouble. I suppose I could suck it up though....Nah. I'll just find a willing lackey. :P
If you want, I can do it, I have a Wii and plenty free time when they add new Games every Monday.
Yeah, and seeing as how the Wii isn't mine, but Scotty's, I wouldn't be as effective as others...
and can't Rabies get a wireless router?
