Er the poll is still going on people but if you go to the end of the topic you can see I'm trying to get people to nominate 8 anime opening songs for a poll I'm making after. YOU all have to nominate them because you know if I pick them then it will be a disaster. ;)
mod edit: You can always modify your last post if you have something more to say, rather than double post. Keep that in mind, alright? ^_-
You could've waited for someone else to reply. Double posting isn't really liked here.
Fullmetal Alchemist!
I like Bleach but you should have put down: Ouran High School Host Club. The name is much worse then the anime, I swear.
Naruto. Just because.
Rurouni Kenshin, cause Rurouni is epic, and it's perhaps the best Manga I have ever read- check out the avy ^_^
I have to agree with Key here. Rurouni Kenshin stirred up different emotions in me, and I think its a master piece amoung animes and mangas.
Sorry for double posting :'( sorry....
Don't worry about it Rinku! Show that you're sorry by not posting an apoology when you screw up a rule, unless you plan on adding to the convorsation, you dig? Anyways, you'll get used to the rules. If you have further questions, PM me, I'm ZeldaVeteran.
Heh, I voted Akira, mainly because I prefer cyberpunk themes. In truth, my favorite anime of all time is one that isn't that well known, yet it has a whopping 52 episodes: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, also Cyberpunk.
Akira is quite violent. I REALLY should watch it again. While it may be violent, and the story, dark, it's actually quite something... it's always about exploring dystopian themes with me, and this is especially true when it takes place following a cataclysmic world war. It may be gritty, but at least it's more realistic (even though there are elements of sci fi, I'm talking about characters) than a lot of other anime/manga.
I plan on reading the whole manga when I find the time to. It's over 2000 pages and 6 volumes long.
i picked naruto
you forgot three
trinity blood
yu-yu-hakusho
and probably the best anime EVER, BOBOBO-BOBO-BOBO
You don't seriously like Bobobo do you? Please no...
and there wasn't enough room for every anime.
Yeah, Bobobo is a little... uh yeah, so anyway...
I also liked the KH Manga, but that doesnt really count at all.. it was good, though...
Yes.... Yu Yu Hakusho really should have been in there too.
Well, surprise surprise... Naruto's winning.
Is it against forum rules to start a topic within a topic? I seem to be violating the rules every time I post *but see, Zelda Veteran, the part about Yu Yu Hakusho contributed to the forum so its not against the rules*
Now the topic withing the topic: How many volumes/episodes of each manga/anime have you people seen/read.?
I voted Naruto, obviously.
My favorite anime after Naruto has to be 'MAR: Marchen Awakens Romance'. It's awesome, and I suggest some of you start to read the manga. I would ask you to watch it, but the whole 'Anime Crusade' on youtube ruins it.
Don't worry about breaking the rules if your intentions are in the right place.
I've watched every episode of Ghost in the shell, have and have seen both movies. I have and have seen Neon Genesis Evangelion and both movies. I've also seen Escaflowne, Boogiepop Phantom, and a truly weird one called "Serial Experiments Lain"
I don't really favor anime that's based completely off of the manga, so much that it's practically a Carbon copy of it. I prefer stuff that's original.
With that in mind, I've read EVERY volume of Rurouni KEnshin and EVERY volume (so far) of BLEACH.
I really liked Rurouni Kenshin, but I don't want to watch the anime because it's basically the same thing and...
Up to about episode 168(?) of Naruto, read about half of the manga. Read about 5 of rurouni kenshin. Seen half the episodes for Karin, read all of the Chibi Vampire ones. Read 3 volumes of Akira, have yet to see the anime. Trying to get into Evangelion. Seen at least 10 or 15 of Bleach, read at least half the manga. Seen all but 3 episodes of FMA, trying to read all the manga. The reason I havent finished all the series is that recently I've been studying my head off for the SAT's/CST's/Cat 6's or whatever they call them. Once summer vacation starts I'm going to try to finish everything up.
I like YuYuHakusho, Naruto, MAR, and InuYasha as both the anima and manga. It also read Case Closed, Shaman King, and watch BLEACH.
What abut DeathNote? My friend said that it was awesome!
A friend of mine has the mangas for deathnote (Same friend that let me borrow Ruroken and BLEACH)... But I'd rather not read it just yet, mainly because there are so many other mangas that I wanna read...
I never heard of it.
I personally have never watched it. But its about this guy who gets a notebook and if he writes a person's name in it, they die. It sounds like it could get repetitive after a while though.
Out of these, Naruto. It's something I enjoy, has an entertaining story, fairly unique setting, and doesn't have over-the-top, fish-eye-lense illustrating.
My real favourite animes are Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, G-Force (oh yeah. that's right.) and most things Miyazaki.
Yeah, I've heard of death note, my friend is obsessed with it...I don't know if I want to see it though. case closed was awesome, wish they still showed it...

... i was joking
and i may get flamed, i may not, but i didnt think prince of tennis was that bad
POT is okay.
Yeah, Case Closed was one of the best shows ever. I'm collecting the manga. I have five volumes so far.
I'm the one who came up with Prince of Tennis.
OMG! I actually know a mangaka! :)
Seriously, about four years ago, I was playing tennis for gym. I told my friend, "Hey, wouldn't it be interesting if they made an anime for tennis?" He said, "That would be the dumbest idea ever."
It was made before four years ago, they're usually started around five years before it is released in America. And it was a manga first.
Well, POT isn't the best, but it's not entirely bad.
I love tennis, I would probably like the show but haven't gotten to see it...and Bobobo is an abomination...
I sympathize with you guys... my best friend is also obssessed with death note at the moment and won't pay attention to me :(
I hate being the only person at my school who hates Naruto. They should have never brought it to America. Full Metal is the best anime I've seen, but Inuyasha is my second choice.
Now since I dissed Naruto, Im ready for the onslaught.
En garde!
:-[....that's it....I'm calling in Whocares and his deus ex machina...
Dum Dum Deh Dum!
I'm here!
I paly 'Screw the Rules, I have Green Hair!', which ups all my stats and decreases yours because I have green hair. ;D
I love InuYasha too, but why do you hate Naruto?
Two words...
"BELIEVE IT!"
:-*
He actually stops saying that later, it wears off.and you seriously can't hate it becasue of that. Watch the Japanese version, he doesn't say it there, the American version they did it because it 'matched his mouth' movements or something like that.
I have no problem with the Japanese version. Its the American version that really pisses me off. And, I like to be different.
I know what you mean about being different. I hated so many things for so long... but Naruto is good, maybe the Japanese is better, but I hate subtitles. >:(

Subtitles are all I've got my friend. The video business doesn't seem too friendly to deaf people...
Wow your deaf? That sucks.
:o Sorry, man, but when you can hear, they are very annoying. Off-topic, but couldn't you get a colear(sp?) implant?
I COULD get a cochlear implant. But I simply don't want one.
When you've lived with captions and subtitles as long as I have, they stop being annoying and start becoming a NECESSITY.
My mom's also deaf, by the way.
Yeah but I guys it helps with your reading speed and grammer, so thats a plus! ;D
So that's 3 people I've met in my life who hate naruto! :o
And I would be No. 4. It attracts attentions AWAY from the good anime.
I would have to reinforce my opinion and say Rurouni kenshin- I actually cried a little at the end of volume 7 of the Manga... and thats a very good thing, means the Manga is good.
Naruto!
It's just awesome. I love the time-skip manga the best. I have them all (on the computer).
Fushigi Yugi and Furuba are great too.
When Nuriko died in FY I was in my garden and I just sat there on a rug whimpering, and when Tamahome's family got massacred...
I have seen almost all of the studio Ghibli films, my favourite being Princess Mononoke.
I also have some Bleach and D.N.Angel.
But I keep running out of money.
Well, I agree partly JQ, MAR is a very good series, and InuYasha would also be more popular, so it should stop having as much attention. Too late, though. Naruto, and in Japan One Piece, are the Dragon Balls (multiple series) of today.
Sorry about you being deaf... it must be kinda hard on you sometimes, i guess. And would it be wimpy if i said i cried after watching certain naruto and fma episodes?
Personally i also think inuyasha has lost its touch... recent episodes seem a little lame and repetitive.
Well, they made alot of fillers. And the series ended a while ago, at least in Japan.
I actually read a little bit of Naruto Manga, and it's very good... I think I'll read it eventually.
Yes it is very good.
I just thought of something: mabye they won't show the fillers in America. We're already several episodes ahead of where the manga is, and by the time we get to 135, the manga would be very far behind. The fillers would be useless.
Dragon Ball Z should be in that list, it is great although Dragon Ball is not that good.
Well, it could just refer to everything that is 'Dragon Ball'. There are multiple series, but they're all basically the same.
MAR is a very good manga.
I tend to like the manga's over the actual show. I always miss an episode or get confused, so with the manga, I can always go back and re-read. Im ok with Naruto manga, but I , as I said, I like to be different, so I rarely read my two copies.
I agree DBZ should be on this list.
*speaks REALLY quickly, like Rolan*
OMG! I thought I'd never meet another MAR fan! This is so exciting! I can't believe it!
*loses all oxygen and dies*
As said earlier, there are too amny Dragon Ball Series to make votes, and I think this is just plain old all things that are about Goku, Gohan, and all those other guys.
:)
I haven't actually read any mangas or anything, but my friends really likes em, and from what I've seen and heard, they're great.
He's kjcollins on this site. PM if u want

Haha liking anime/manga in general is being different at my school!
Lucky... an school ful of anime fans!
Anime, Zelda, Nintendo, Pokemon, and Wii are all nerd things at my school. But I hope to change that. When I run away to a new school, next year. :B
I voted Naruto.

Not in my school. In my school, those are the norm. And whocares what anyone else likes, like whatcha like. I still like pokemon, and I dont care what anyone says. :)
Hooray! I saw the Pokemon Diamon/Pearl thing. And it was better than last season's crappiness! Especially that awesome Paul dude.
Eh, I gave up on the Pokemon anime a long time ago. But I still play the video games a bit.
I agree, the anime of Pokemon is not nearly as good as the games. The games rock.
I was gonna say what sensei kay said... but I think the anime sucks because well, I sort of outgrew it ;)
I think the first season was a lot better than the repetitve ones i see my little siblings watching now.
Yes, the first few episodes of the anime were great, I think, then it just went kaput...
I watched the first couple seasons through Johto, but I stopped watching soon after.
I watched it constantly the first two seasons, then drifted off until I stopped altogether.
Yeah, but you gott admit.. no matter how bad the anime may get... the games, they still kick butt. I mean, Ruby is awesome!
I have no doubt that the games are still good. I play them
Best anime ever= .hack//Sign. It was short, but it definetly had chaacters that actually felt real. And has everyone forgotten about Digimon Tamers? The Pokemon games seem like extorsion, since to enslave them all, you have to spend twice the amount of cash.
Enslave...? Dude, it's a video game, and the Pokemon are perfectly happy in the games with being "enslaved."
And Digimon isn't nearly as good as Pokemon... it's a rip-off of the Pokemon idea...
You can't tell me it's more comfortable in a five inch diameter ball than in the open plains.
Lolly-Ho!
actually, the poke balls could be designed to suit the pokemon's needs, like the luxury ball
I wish more people would like MAR. It's as good as Naruto, but it ended too quickly (about 170 chapters) fro its popularity to grow very large like the major anime, like Naruto.
MAr, or whatever it is, is not even listed up there- though I must say the list is missing many things...
All three letters are capitalized.
And yes, it is just as good as Naruto, but it ended way too quickly for it to have a mahor popularity. Luckily, though, the sequel manga series MAR Omega is already going on in Japan.
Do you have any idea how long most mangas last? 6-12 volumes. Do you know how many most anime series last? 26 episodes, sometimes even as little as 12 or 13.
I said it ended too quickly for its popularity to be major, not that it ended too quickly at all. Man, that was overdramatic.
Also, I think MAR has 16 volumes. 12 are released in America. The anime will finish 8 episodes in two days.
Actually, most Manga's don't have over 10 volumes, most. Only the really good ones have over like 10. Manga kinda fades in and out of popularity very quickly...
I also think Case Closed was a good manga/anime. So does ZV.
Loveless for sure. But it's kind of new (at least, in America, the DVDs didn't come out until last year.) so I don't expect a lot of people to know of it. It is also shounen-ai, but only if you look at it in that way, it's a confusing series in that way.
(I doubt if anyone even knows what Loveless is; Wikipedia it if you wish. (By the way, my avatar is from the series.))
Second place comes The Legend of Zelda, I mean, god, how can you not love that series?! [/sarcasm]
No, seriously, I prefer the manga, but... I think Sukisyo(also new, not even translated, I think xD;) and Gravitation are cool, as well as Peace-Maker Kurogane (another confusing series, if you go by the manga(which are now canceled thanks to ADV films trying to translate manga...))
I voted Rurouni Kenshin, it was my first series and I still love it so. ^w^; FLYING UMBRELLA ATTACK, MITSERUGI STYLE! (I'm such a dork, hur)
Actually, I have heard of Loveless. My girlfriend and her friend have periodic spazzy fangirl moments over it. :P

Believe it or not, I actually made it through the series.
i said discuss... now chat about yu yu hakusho and remind me of its awesomeness
How could you stand to watch it all? It made a mockery of LoZ...
Yu Yu Hakusho is awesome. My favorite character's Fei, then Kurama, then Touya, finally Shishiwakamaru. I like the Dark Tournament Saga the best.
I'm planning on readin that, after RuroKen... how many volumes is it, exactly? :-\
Well, the American series is half way through the entire one. Also, from what I here, the amnga ending sucked so the anime added 5 extra episodes.
Really? Wow, that unfortunate... I heard it was very good from beginning to end...
i forgot everyone's names, i liked the dude what with used the rose whip
i did enjoy the dark tourney though
Main characters
Hei - The guy who always uses that dragon thing
Kurama - The plant dude
Yusuke - Main character
Botan - The girl with blue hair who keeps flying on that broom thing.
Kuwabara - The one who makes the sword thing
Yukina - The ice girl
Genkai - The old hag who is a martial arts master
Other Characters
Touya - The other ice user
Shishiwakamaru - The one with the sword that keeps calling on ghosts
Also, I ment to say Hei, not Fei. :-*
the last episode i saw is the end of the tourney
Oh, well, the only characters I listed were characters from the tourney arc.
I liked YYH for a while, then it just sorta died...
I liked Shuichi (Kurama) and Youko (Kurama), though. xD
Kurama, the person of two bodies. (Yoko Kurama, the demon fox and Shiuchi Miyamato or whatever, the human possessed by the fox)

Domino I think it was. Something to that effect. I never knew how to spell it. xD
Yu Yu Hakusho was good, about at Naruto's level, just a little less. I'll say this, though: I prefered the Yu Yu Haksuho characters drawings over the Naruto ones. The Naruto characters drawings are just a little too unrealistic.
I wish more people would like MAR. :'(
I'm not too big of a fan of watching TV much anymore, actually. xD MAR is okay, though, I have to admit. I just never get to catch it when it's on...
Here's an AMV, then:
Halloween vs. Alan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBBQy4KDJfg)
I like that there tomato. I wish my tomatoes summoned gravestones with eyes and mouths.
That was actually a pumpkin, and a mask, really. ::)
Yes, Halloween is awesome. Too bad he lost in the only battle he fought in the series. :'(
I like Kurama. And I could've sworn I put Yuyu Hakusho on the polls....
Incorrect. It isn't on there.
Shame, that Manga has lots of followers, almost like a mob...
Naruto all the way!!! Can't wait 'till Gaara's childhood...

Oh just because I thought you all might be interested and I'm curious about what you all like: I was thinking of starting poll topics on best anime openings and endings... so can you all nominate some so I can make the poll? And I'm doing the openings topic first.
Might I suggest the second opening of Bleach:
video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW1EVwm1VB4)
Lets see someone try to top that. :P
I do like that opening, but I counter with:
Lucky Star! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uUdmtxcBiE)
You thought I'd counter with Loveless (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRpLi93249w), didn't you? ...Well, yeah, I was thinking it, but it was too obvious. Plus I feel like dancing.
Uh... but isn't this for when the topic is created? D:
That..... is..... really...... scary. :-[
Wow, one of them has really long hair. Is she named Rapunzel? :P
Did I mention that another one of my favorite Mangas is Deathnote?
So complicated, yet so entertaining... like Kingdom Hearts!
No loveless, Godchild, or Cain Saga?
Oh...I simply cannot vote :(
*taps Jess* vote for Rurouni Kenshin
True, I love my knight and shining armour Kenshin....
But its not my favorite there 8)
*bangs head* right then.
And why was this topic brought back from the dead, anyway?
I don't know...?
I can't remember what I voted for. Probably RK. I do like FMA, though. Loveless is my favourite, but I do admit, I love DeathNote, too. Oh, and Cowboy Bebop was just plain awesome.

AWESOME song.
"I'm a soldier, and that means
that I'm both defendant and Judge
I stand on both lines of the fire..."
That's from the actual translated opening on the DVD. The subtitles aren't an accurate translation on youtube...
:P We can nominate songs and other things too?
Well, it's better than Lucky Star.
It's super special awesome.
Bleach still defeats it however.
No, just the opening sequence and song, unless I'm mistaken.
Oh my gawd whocares do not insult Lucky Star.
I lovesh it.
And as you can see I also love Deathnote.
Hahahaa

Woo Go Deathnote!
And for the opening themes thing I am going with Fisk and "Motteko! Sailor Fuku" the opening theme to Lucky Star!
It's on my iPod and I know the dance!
I Loves it soo much.
Since Fisk's video is gone, here's another link to the Lucky Star Opening:
here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb0lFnwb0RQ)
I also want to mention that I think that the person who sang the opening to Ghost in the Shell isn't Japanese, but a European group, probably German. She's using syllables that don't even exist in Japanese culture commonly, and they most likely are German syllables. Not that it matters, but it's rare to find non-Japanese anime opening singers.
The grief and sorrow song of Naruto is the best anime song imo.
I actually hated it, even compared to the Lucky Star intro.
And we're discussing anime intros, not anime music. Please post your favorite anime intro. We already have Lucky Star, the 2nd opening of Bleach, and the "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" Opening.
Since everyone else has decided to make this topic die, I nominate the opening to Serial Experiments Lain... It's weird
SEL opening (http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/Serial%2BExperiments%20Lain%20o/video/xzmf8_serial-experiments-lain-op)
Didn't you already nominate something else? Is nomination two choices actually fair?
Well, since no one else has nominated anything, and the topic seemed to be dying....
It's not dying! I rezed it at the last second ;)
And thanks to WhoCares for putting all the nominations in one post- it saves my lazy self from going back and writing it all down. Oh yea and that link you posted for Lucky Star is gone too.... I'm not exactly sure if I found the right song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViEH57xQu1c
but anyways its pretty catchy. Not like you could sing Japanese fast enough with them, but its cool.
I nominate Rewrite from Fullmetal Alchemist (I think the 4th opening?).
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hbQsnekRQHk
and Yura Yura http://youtube.com/watch?v=91irzfwSY60
(9th opening from Naruto and another opening for Bleach I think)
*watches as everyone picks YuraYura because it had the word Naruto next to it* ;)
