We've all had mean teachers in our life. So tell me you're experience with your mean teacher(s).
ive only had one teacher i didnt agree with but she never was mean to me personally
I have never had any mean teachers that I can think of. The funny thing is whenever I get a teacher I don't like much at the beginging of the year, I start to like them a lot better as time goes by.
Same here, usually. However, I did have one teacher that was truly mean once, and her name was Ms. Sherry. She was nice most of the time. But when she got mad, she got MAD! She made my class write essays for homework sometimes...
I had a substitute that hit me in the head with a VCR tape >:(
We were going to file assult charges, but we never got around to it. She should be stripped of her liscense.
Hit you over the head with a VCR tape.... nice... that woulda pissed me off/made me extremely upset.... if I were you, I'd still look to file charges on them....
How can you not get around to something like that? :-\that would be priority one for me.
I didn't have a truly mean teacher, except Mrs. Haight (pronounced 'hate', wierd huh?) but I will talk about her later. I have had a teacher we swear was a crackhead though and should have his liscence taken. He was a woodshop teacher and never really told us how to use the equipment in our exploratory class. Now, these two kids in this class were huge jerks to me and bullied me a lot, and everyone hated them. They wouldn't give me the equipment or whatever, and started pushing me around for a minute or so, and I turned and socked one of them in the cheek and knocked him off his chair, then the teacher came and gave me a referral for beating him up. ::)
Then we had to make this project, and I took my time with it and made a unique one with these wavy contours down the edge, and had it almost finished after four days, and had one more day to do it. The kid I had hit earlier rushed his and turned it in after two and got a bad grade on it, so he messed around a few days. So the last day, I get mine out and walk over to finish it, and then he comes up with the teacher and says that mine was his, and the teacher just took it from me and gave it to him, and he got an A on it while I had nothing to turn in. So I took it to the principal, and described the pattern on it and the texture, because I had worked on this a long time and knew it. So then he brings in the other kid who is holding the project and looks at it, and it matches my description. So then he asks the kid how he can prove it was his, and he looks at it and says...."Well...it has this hole here." and points at a tiny chip in the middle. So the principal says that he can't figure out who it belongs to, so he just lets the other kid keep it and I fail that class since I didn't have a project to turn in.
When I was in the eighth grade a sub hit one on the students. He ran and told the principal and the guy got into a lot of trouble.
That reminds me of Waggle, the only teacher to be fired from both High Schools here. He threw a desk at a student the second time he was fired, can't remember what happened the first time...
That was somthing.
I've never had a bad teacher for one reason. I'm homeschooled. Only teachers I've had that weren't related to me were my Sunday School teachers.
Quote from: Shikaboose on May 02, 2007, 05:34:17 PMHe threw a desk at a student the second time he was fired, can't remember what happened the first time...
Jeez! That's crazy! And all that happened to him was to be fired?
Back in 7th and 8th grades, I had an evil physical science teacher. I remember a few occasions where he lost my papers and told me that I never turned them in. I rummaged through a stack on his desk, all the while with him shouting at me to quit nosing through the papers, and lo and behold...my papers. Graded with good marks, in fact. Never turned them in, yeah right...
I remember doing a project in his class with another girl who copied my work. So we turned in about the same thing on said project but he graded us individually, and gave her a higher mark. He sure hated me.
my teacher (maths teacher) shouted at us really bad today and i thought he was going to smack Amber across the bak or something like that .
Before I switched schools (I already said I did) my class had a teacher called Ms. Carnelo, who they called Carnelo De-vil. She apparently was really mean, gave them ALOT of work, and hit one of the other students, who used the fact that she knew him as an excuse. There's a possibility I'll have her in 8th grade, and if I see him get hit just once, I'll immediately get out of that room, without permission, and tell the principal.
Shikamaru, for your first post. if I had a teacher like that, I'd want to hit him instead. Or bring a friend of yours who saw you work on it. I do admit, though, hitting that other student wasn't a smart thing to do. And BTW, you're principal's an idiot for not knowing who it was.
ZV, IMMEDIATELY sue her this instance. Or tell the principal. I doubt after all this time he/she'd believe you, though. You'd have been luckier to have me in your class when that happened. :)
collaboration, that teacher might have graded hers first and thought you copied her. But then again, he's an idiot teahcer, so no other comment.
Hahah... in most cases, the best the school can do is fire the teacher. They do not want bad publicity and to get sued, so they'll probably try to keep it underground, where no one can see. Of course, your parents can file assault charges... But they have to be willing to pursue the matter... Not to mention.... some school administrations are corruptive and to go forth in the legal process would be quite an uphill battle.
Yeah, my aunt told all her friends about that woodshop teacher so they pulled their kids out and made them transfer out of the class so he had like five people in his class the rest of the year.
Well, he deserves it, Shika. I'd be happy for you if he got fired.
Did I forget to mention a little something called "Teacher Shortage"?
They could fire him during the summer, when a replacement could be found.
My Geometry teacher, Mr. Hamilton... I mean, I feel sorry for him, I'm kind of standoffish to him, but... ugh, the other day, we had a sort of conversation like this.
Mr. Hami: Finish the worksheet I just handed you, then we'll grade it tomorrow.
Sarah: How do you do number twelve?
Mr. Hami: Oh, like this: -insert explaining trig here- Just make sure it's a proportion, I won't take it any other way.
Me: ... Hey, isn't that like, a little... I dunno, unfair? I mean, there's more than one way to do something in Geometry. >>; Um, I mean... yeah.
Mr. Hami: ... Come up to my desk, Haley.
The next day, he wrote "she can do better" on my report card and I got an earful from my parents. ;w;
And my English I teacher, Mrs. Cessac, scares me. Badly. She was pregnant and left in the middle of February, replacing herself with Mrs. Schuller, an elderly woman who recovered recently from cancer. (I prefer Mrs. Schuller, she's actually kinda nice. ... Of course, I'm the only one who thinks this.)
Anyways, Mrs. Cessac gave me flat zeros on essays. She didn't even look at them. She just wrote zero on it. /: I saw her once, I turned in my paper, then she picked it up and wrote "0" on it and went on to the next one. (...And she didn't tell me she couldn't read my writing until three weeks later.)
One six weeks, we had three essays over a span of two days, over really... sensitive subjects for me (and one of which I had no opinion on) and she ended up giving me zeros when I asked if I could write about something else.
Essays count as test grades, which in my school is fifty percent of your grade (quizzes are forty, homework is ten), so I made a terrible grade (58) on a progress report and my parents yelled at me about how my reading and playing games and drawing is affecting my school grades, so they ripped up all of my drawings and took away all my pencils and disconnected my phone and took away my 'cube. @w@ Yeah, I really don't like her for that (my drawings are practically a part of me, the fact that they crumbled them up and threw them away just... broke me, I guess) and she's coming back on Monday.
Oh, and my Biology teacher hates me class in general. Not me, (he actually likes me, I know what I'm doing) but we have to do extra work a lot. ;) Also, my Art teacher, Mr. Shope, doesn't raise his voice when he's mad. owo It's actually really creepy. (and I feel bad for him, my class is full of the people who aren't to be in band/choir/etc because they'll wreck the equipment.(apparently the school board doesn't realize that prismacolour pencils cost $80 for a 24 colour set...))
My chemistry teacher was a little scary at the beginning of the year. But she's not that bad.
My Living Environment teacher (which, just so you all know, Living Environemnt is a fancy name given to plain old biology) is kinda mean. Whenever you ask her a question, she kinda cuts you off and goes "Look it up! Look it up and present it! LOOK IT UP!!" and I'm just like... wtf lady?!
Ripping up your drawings? They could have taken them away, but ripping them up is a bit.... wait, I can't say that, can I? (PM me if you must know what I'm going to say) Mabye you should ask someone from a higher grade to look at your papers and see what they think about it? Or even show it to the principal. You don't deserve that grade. (PM me if you must know what I think of that teacher's actions) You'd have been luckier if I saw that happen. :) She'd really get fired then. And not reading your writing is a bad excuse. I have terrible handwriting, yet my teachers can read it.

Yeah, I guess. I'll try, but I think my handwriting is teacher-proof... Or they just don't want to read it. xD; (It's not bad, just small.)
Alack, there is only so much an adult will listen to when it comes from an 'insignificant' student.
Well, that DEFINETLY makes him feel better. :)
Also, we once had a music teacher called Miss Swinker, and she was a real..... (PM me if you want to know) She yelled at you for no apparent reason, and when she yells she spit in your face. :-* And one time, there was some garbage left under the table I was sitting in left by the 1st-3th graders when I was in fifth grade and when we got out of the cafeteria, she stopped the entire 5th grade from gonig to class and called us a bunch of 'disgusting dogs' and made us pick up all the garbage in the cafeteria.
Then she followed us into 6th grade and, when I wasn't having her class, she apparently cussed at a student, saying the D word. Also, one time, a student dropped their notebook, and Miss Swinker picked it up and threw it in the garbage can. >:(
To be honest, I always hated her.
This teacher I'm about to explain is really not mean, but rather funny. I figured I'd post it here, you know, cause I felt like it.
This guy, his name was (and I'm not joking here) Mr.Hammerschlag. Yes, said hammer-shlaag. He was a generally good guy. Cept when he got angry. His eyes used to bug out and get really big, and then his face would turn scarlet red and he'd yell at you for like 2o minutes. Funny and very frightening.
Yall talking about those rude lying pieces of sh*t they call teachers
My Grade 4 teacher was such a nasty creep..
My science teacher is very mean.
My grade 4 teacher mrs.Taylor was such a nasty jerk.
If you even left out one question on your homework she would yelll and scream at you. I think she may even be a racist. She always kept harassing as if I was always doing something wrong. She never believed a word I said...
At school I was always blamed for sh*t i didn't do just because im different. Those rude lying pieces of sh*t never belived me when I tried to defend myself.
Sigh... These are the times I wish vovalgia was real... ::)
God I hate the people at my schoool....
My teachers are generally Okay.
None of them are mean but they are ocasionally creepy. My old Music teacher would play these really complicated pieces on the keyboard, and while he was doing it he would just stare at me, or someone else in the class. One time he was playing something and I was sitting at a keyboard looking at him and we sat there for like 5 minutes staring at each other, him with a reallly creepy smile on his face it freaked me out, but i wouldn't look away. My Science teacher just looks at me a lot too. I asked him a yes/no sort of question and he took half an hour explaining it, whilst staring at me, I kept looking away but then I looked again and there he was, talking and staring, like a talking-staring thing.
And a teacher through a dictionary at my brothers friend so hard that when it hit the wall it made a dent, lucky the boy ducked.
LANGUAGE ALERT!
The S word, according to the site's official word ban list, is against the rules, which is a warning, saria returns, for cussing.
Yeah, that was a tad, unessecary... i know you may have alot of hate for some teachers, but please, try and control yourself.

Aww teh-poor ZeldaVet.
Ah yes. I loved my First grade teacher though. Ahh she was so nice!!! Anywho, I'll tell you one experince.
Ok, I had a bully named Jacob, and he was a jerk. Well, he did something and I'd tell on him,
I would get in trouble and
HE would get away with it. GRRR!!! I WANNA HALF KILL HIM TO DEATH!!!! Also my mom had a fight with the princible about the bad velcro button i had on my pants.
Umm, maybe a mod should go edit the swearing out of saria's post, just a suggestion....and yes, telling on people never seems to work, it seems that just gets you in trouble. Some great message they send students, eh? Push people around or get walked over.
This is one of the reasons why kids hate schools: mean teachers.
The Queen of mean teachers: Miss Swinker.

(doesn't know what to say)
Be happy you don't live in Japan, TZ. There are apparently a LOT of teacher-student relationships... You don't wanna know... it just might freak you out.
Oh God, I've heard about those....it's really scary, I'm glad it's not as big a problem here.

Oh, the joys of Naivity...
YES, it does happen here... But from what gets reported to the media, it's almost always a relationship between a teacher and a middle schooler or high schooler...
It may not seem like it happens a lot, but it DOES happen.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying it's not as big a problem. As in it happens less.
I seem to have all the evil subs, and other mean teachers you want to shoot. In my social studies class my girlfriend got in trouble, and was told to stand in the path of the door, and the guy slammed the door on her! I ran over and as he was turning, broke his nose, and stomped on his gut! He got fired and I was suspended for 5 days. She had a broken jaw for 2 weeks! Other evil teachers include my 1st grade summer school when this kid hit me and I told on him WHEN she was watching and I got in trouble, because she said I was lying. My second grade teacher locked people out of the room, and she sent me to the office when I was doing my work. My 4th grade teacher was sexist against boys, and let the girls go to lunch 10 minutes earlier than us. I stood up to him and he was about to hit me, then he noticed there was 20(WAY moer guys than girls that year) watching him, and he backed off.
My favorite teacher also happened to be one of the meanist, and he "landlocked" Danny with a bunch of desks with a smile on his face, among other things. He even had 2 sets of the 3 stooges in that class that he harrassed. Interestingly enough, this year one to friends is the person he picks on the most, but he likes him the best. My math teacher hates me, and I finish my work early sometimes, and he always says I didn't do everything when I do extra! My Spanish teacher isn't mean, just disturbing. A girl asked him if he got a haircut one time, and he says, "Why, is my zipper down?".
Last year, my health teacher made people go on the pullup bar, and rmain in that spot while he looked at their butts! He even made my friend come to the gym office for shutting his locker wrong, and now he can't talk about that! How do you shut a locker wrong? :o Stupid evil teachers.
Just an evaluation, but if I'm correct, I believe your gym teacher (is a monkey! ;D ) is a homosexual. I agree, you can't close a locker wrong... wait, there's slamming it.
That sub who did the door thing is a complete and total (PM me if you want to know) and should be stripped of his title. (Basically, no more teachers degree) Your first grade sub sucks. So does your second grade teacher. Your 4th grade teacher is just terrible. Your math teacher does hate you.
I wouldn't outright say that he's gay. But I think it would be more accurate to say he's a pedophile.
You know whats scarier than having a pediphile teacher? Being their favorite! Thank God I only had that freak for 1 Quarter(Our schools split up that way, but we also have semesters). He "retired ;D" after 2nd quarter, after my friend and others told their parents. Whenever he saw me, he had this really creapy grin. The worst part is, he taught for over 30 years!!!! I don't want to imagine the horror of what he did. *Shudders uncontrolably*
In some other evil teacherness, one of my former friends HATED my former gym teacher, and called her the Anti-Christ. She wasn't that bad, but she was in a car accident during Spring Break, so that was sad.
He could also be both a homosexual and a pedophile. :-[
I think he's bi because I saw him in the paper today, and hes been convicted of 1st degree sexuall assualt against a little girl. >:( >:( >:(

.......
Don't go trashing gay people because they may 'allegedly' be pedophilic.
The man is DEFINITELY disturbed, I read in my local papers a while back about some old man getting convicted because of sexual assault to many of his students...
PS: Do you live in North Carolina, Penguin dude?
I'm not trashing the homosexuals, but there is the (disturbing) possibility of him being both. I guess it's overruled now, do the penguin dude's last post.
I think I've been there, but I know I don't live there. And the old guy did deserve to go to jail for sexually assaulting those girls. :( >:( And I keep foretting to put this in my posts, but one of my friends said that Japan has the highest rate of student suicide. I think thats kinda sad.
in france their school life is harsh, they go about 8 hours a day and the only time they get a whole day off is wendsday and i think maybe sunday
And, pray tell, how would you know of this?
If this is true, though, my hear goes out to all French children.
ive taken around 3 years of french classes, its been mentioned
In france they get half of Saturday, and all of Sunday off.
Then all or half of Wednesday, but they get extremely long holidays and 2 hours for lunch.
Oh and don't worry about those teachers I mentioned, I dont think its pervy staring, just freaky staring. That Science teacher stares at everyone.
I don't really label my teachers as "mean," probably because I know where they're coming from. Last year, in 7th grade, there were a bunch of goof-offs in my class, and my History-English teacher yelled at them alot. I got a little afraid of her (mostly when she was a bad mood) but i understood that when there's people like that, and they've tried to be patient with them, the only thing that there really is, is to yell. I mean, you would do the same, wouldn't you? And I'm not saying this as a teacher's pet, because I'm not, believe me!
Im so glad, though, in only like 20 days, I will never ever have my science teacher ever again! I'm going to have to dance. w00t! :D
Oh God, Mags is gonna dance again! ???RUN!
Anyways, I"m kind of excited for the summer. So many things I wanna get done...there are some teachers I'm going to miss though, but I may have them again, and I will hopefully get Drama next year....
This summer I have to take care of a bunch of bratty kids... and I'm not getting paid. ;w; Oh well.
I feel bad though, I want to have my biology teacher again sometime. >: He's just so awesome.
I'm gonna miss my teachers too. :'(
Wow, this has changed from mean teachers to nice ones....heh, well I liked Mr. Bennet back in Fifth grade, he was one of the best I've ever had...he had a really corny sense of humor but it was still funny.
WELL, if we're discussing favorites, I'd have to say my secoind grade teacher, Mrs. Babino. She was so nice, and we even got to raise and hatch and release butterflies in her class. And chicks! HOW COOL IS THAT?!
Ah, Mr. Nickerson was an awesome teacher, really really cool science teacher. He had this leopard gecko named Jerome, after a Notre Dame coach. He LOVES Notre Dame, like his whole room is decked out in that style. We hatched chicks, fed the gecko crickets....it was awesome
My 6th grade Language Arts and Reading teacher, Mr. Berger. In Advisory on Wednesday we'd watch a movie and eat popcorn, on Fridays we'd have a game day. He also gave out Jolly Ranchers, Hersheys, liquorish sticks, and Cow Pies during Reading and in Language Arts if we answered a question right. He was also funny. :) And our team would go on alot of feild trips. I miss 6th grade.
My 3d grade teacher was awesome. We got to raise Crawdads. But mine died about 24 hours later. I'm so glad I won't have my math teaher anymore, since he hates me and takes points off my tests when we go over them, so I get a D-. >:(
Favorite teacher. Mr. Holtzworth.
Most Hated teacher. Mr. Guildo.
