were any of you dissapointed that you couldnt grow older like in OoT? it kinda made me mad.

this is what he would have looked like anyway...

that would b kinda weird, i mean Link adilt link would look 2 cartoony it just (in my opinion) would of made the game worse, also i think  it was good storyline bcus he's not the Master Of Time in WW

I never thought about it before, but after looking at that picture I think it would be awesome. It looked kind of like the Link from the cartoon.

i mean it would b interesting. but shouldnt he have grown up 7 years when he pulled the master sword out in hyrule castle in WW?
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: Zelda Veteran on January 28, 2006, 09:01:27 PM
well actually, the hero of time was only 10 when he pulled the master sword out of its pedistal. the hero of winds was 15 when he pulled it out. is it just me, or did the hero of winds look like he ws 9 rather than 15?? :P
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: HylianKnight on January 29, 2006, 08:40:49 AM
If he was 15 in WW, maybe he was already close enough to 17 to pull out the sword without going seven years into the future. And if he had gotten older, maybe he would only grow up 2 years?  ???
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: phantompig on January 29, 2006, 08:43:58 AM
Wait, where does it say that the hero of winds is 15 years old? I can't remember how old the hero of time was either? Can someone inform me about the age requirements to be a hero of wind/time? ???
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: Zelda Veteran on January 29, 2006, 08:50:01 AM
it states that when the children of wind fall reach the age of 15, they are to be garbed in green to honor the hero of time. in the OoT (i forgot where, but i remember hearing it) link was only ten, and if he is kept for 7 years, well... do the math! ;)
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: Pea-Tear Griffin on January 29, 2006, 07:22:38 PM
ok i can sort this out

in Oot he was 10 and grew to be 17 this is b-cuz first all ganon could not get all the pices of the triforce second he could not beat ganon b-cuz all the sages could not power up the master sword (the could only b awaken when there was a great evil AKA ganon)

in WW he was in need of the Master sword  be-4 the age of 17 he had to have it 2 beat ganondorf at that time (in Oot he was not a threat at the start  ) so he got 2 pull the sword early and use it's power

hope this clears up why he did not grow up in WW

i just thought of something.......

when ww link started the addventure, he was 12, bcause it says that all boys of ww link's island on their 12 birthday wear the clothes like the hero of time

no mater the age (sry WW was not my fav. so I did not listen) the rest of what i said was correct

Quoteit states that when the children of wind fall reach the age of 15, they are to be garbed in green to honor the hero of time. in the OoT (i forgot where, but i remember hearing it) link was only ten, and if he is kept for 7 years, well... do the math!

There is no such statement. The game says that he's the same age as the legendary Hero, but not what age he is. The legendary Hero, however, is 8-12. Anywhere between that, at least.

He erases the future, so that doesn't count. And even if there's a split timeline and TWW somehow is in the adult timeline (although it does make referances to MM) he is MENTALLY 8-12 in the second part.

And I believe it's the Pedestal of Time, not the Master Sword, that is to blame.

Quotewere any of you dissapointed that you couldnt grow older like in OoT? it kinda made me mad.

To me it seems like you're mad because it wasn't like OoT. OoT is one game, and the fifth one in the series. It's not even the big revolution. LoZ was.

OoT is the only game in the series with that feature, and it's almost impossible to introduce that feature in future Zelda games without ripping off OoT.

Some may not mind that, but constant ripping off and stealing from previous games (mainly AoL and ALttP) is one of the things that killed OoT a little for me.

i just have no life, that's all.

but back on topic, i really did not mind being a kid, and being an adult would totally change the game (if he turned into a man). if u think about it, they would have to make a second Great Sea and all the islands, with different things everywhere, beccause time would have passed. im not sure i got my point across, but i tried :P
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: Evilslayer on February 03, 2006, 02:09:15 AM
They would have to redo the entire Great Sea, only change some NPCs and maybe add some houses.
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: Zelda Veteran on February 05, 2006, 02:42:38 PM
exactly! a lot more things to do and see! like the disco guy is all old and every thing, tetra would grow up, your grandma would die. so would sturgion and orka. new kids would be born. it would make the game a lot longer, and there would be more to do. like in ocarina of time. there is two whole different worlds to explore! i think they should have at least taken that idea into consideration... :-\
Title: Re:adult...

I FOUND SOMTHING ON THIS VERY SITE!!

A CHICK asks
Dear Ezlo, HOW OLD IS LINK FROM "THE WIND WAKER"?

Ezlo replies...
We don't know for sure (no age is given), but I'm willing to guesstimate 15

that was an ask ezlo question!! THE ONE WHO KNOWS ALL SIDES WITH ME!!! HAHAHHAHAHA!

I'm pretty sure that it's the Pedestal of Time that is to blame for Link being trapped in the Chamber of Sages. Would you allow a 10-year-old getting his hands in the Triforce? ;)

The pedestal he pulls the sword from in TWW doesn't open the gate to the Golden Land, so it doesn't matter if he's 10 or 17.

The pedestal didn't make Link grow either though...the reason he grew was because Rauru held him until the opportune time to strike. He needed to make sure he was physically able to do the quest (Although I don't see how seven years without food, water,or exercise would make him stronger...) and he had to hide the ToC from Ganon.

Title: Re:adult...
Post by: LadyNintendo on December 26, 2006, 12:00:20 PM
Except for MM and TLOZ, I haven't seen one TLOZ game in which I have to assume Link is not 16 (or very close to it. He seems to be the same age in TWW as he is in TP, OOT, ALTTP etc.
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: Vaati on January 07, 2007, 06:44:07 AM
I dunno about WW, he looks pretty young. 10 at the youngest, maybe 12 at the oldest.
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: LadyNintendo on January 07, 2007, 08:28:06 AM
Then what do you think the kids are that are obvious younger than him? Note that their thoughts don't seem much younger than 10, while they clearly are quite a bit younger than Link. Also, Mila, Maggie and Tetra seem to be of his age. Mila goes out alone at night to some far away island and works hard to take care of her dad (not ten-ish). Maggie has a relation with a guard in the Forsaken Fortress (and I doubt they have 10-ish guards there). And Tetra....well, no matter what, I doubt a ten-year old could lead a gang of pirates (properly). It also makes some remarks a little misplaced.

Being adult Link in WW wouldn't fit the graphics or the context.
Your eyes would go ??? and then burn and die
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: bgrugby on January 07, 2007, 02:15:11 PM
I think having Link being young was perfect for the style as of the game as it made it pretty comedic at times, especially when the pirates launched him in the barell, that was classic  ;D
Title: Re:adult...
Post by: LadyNintendo on January 08, 2007, 02:09:43 AM
And not something you do with a kid.

Anyway, I don't think I'm capable of understanding what the graphics have to with Link's age. Is it impossible to to draw 16+ in Chibi style? Just one question, how would that work out for Link considering Gonzo is pretty much his age. Not that different, maybe a bit taller. And what's with the context? The context is that a boy who reaches the age of the Hero (last time I checked, that was 16+-) gets his sister kidnapped and is the only one prepared to go rescue her. Not to mention everybody thinks he will succeed.
Title: Re:adult...

Nope. I, personally, like being a kid more than an adult. Link's been a 12-year-old in every game but OoT and TP, why mess with a good thing?

Dude! Once you've played TP for awhile, then play OoT, when you're a kid your Kokori sword looks like a knife, and Link looks like a baby, when you're an adult, your sword looks like the Kokori sword, and you look like a kid, and the Boggoron sword look like Master Sword in TP, but in TP you look like an Adult/16 year old, and you're swords look the right size!

p.s.ezlos evil and dumb cuz he said nabooru stupid. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA  ;) ;) ;)
heres my oppinion
Oot:10-17
ww-12
tp-17
that is kinda logical
because in Ootlil link can't hold the sword with both hands.until he could, rauru kept him.
and in ww he could also lift it with 1 hand.

I think he shouldn't be an adult in TWW, it would make the game less interesting; Also, he is a child in tWW. The creators made the style fit Link's young mind and so on and so forth.

And if we're to talk of the logic in tWW, about how Tetra leads pirates and is only ten... uh... how do you breath underwater or walk on lava by changing shirts? How is WW Link able to hold the Master Sword... or the Skull Hammer? How is Link in OOT able to hold onto Kaepora Gaebora's talons without his hands being ripped to shreds?

Adding logic to some points in Zelda is... not very wise. ^w^;
