Title: Twilight Realm
Post by: Zoratunic on June 13, 2007, 02:16:43 PM
I wonder how big the Twilight realm is? Because in the game, all that we see is the Palace of Twilight. Also, I wonder what a regular Twili looks like, not the monster versions, or the half-changed back versions that you see when you retrieve the first Sol out of the Palace.

Its probly an entire planet, mabey an entire universe. As to the appearance, they probly look similar to Zant and the true form of Midna.

I don't think they are only half changed back.

Also, its its own dimension, but it doesn't seem you nobody could go anywhere.

They are half changed back. Midna's true form and Zant are full changed back.

So? That doesn't mean that the rest don't look like they do.

To me they look like they're half monster-half Twili.

It is impossible for two people to look compleatly diffrent than the rest of the race. The Twili in the Palace just weren't fully changed back becuase Ganon was still alive.

Ahh, that makes sense.

I hope it's an entire planet, because it would get really boring to live in that castle for a lifetime.

It would have to be. Midna speaks of an entire race, not just the 6 or so in the palace and herself and Zant. If you look around the sky in the palace you can see other buildings floating off in the distance. They probly live there.
They also could be liveing on the planets surface.

*lots of coughing*
So, what do you have to say about almost every "character" member of the non-humanish races? Or do you intend to tell me Evan, Lulu/Ruto, Tijo and Toto/King Zora all look like the standard Zora model?  I think Zant even more resembles the other Twili than those the other Zora.

Not that I'm disagreeing with the theory (, if only because I was seriously disappointed in the way the Twili were represented in TP).

If you look at the other Twili, from the waist down is still the black monster skin, while Midna and Zant has normal bluish white skin. If you still think they are not half changed than you must be blind.

I think they're just wearing clothes

If Midna's going to go around naked when she's an imp, what makes you think the others would don clothes after they've been transformed?

I'm sure that normalcy wasn't restored to the Twilight Realm until after Ganondorf was killed, but it's impossible to check, isn't it?  Something about the Mirror of Twilight being destroyed, or something like that...

I... don't think she did...

I think everyone in the Twilight Realm wore clothes... I mean, what reason would they have to not wear them? When Link transforms back into a human from his wolf form, he's still fully clothed. The Twili were transformed by the same evil magic, so why should they be any different? And I think the Twili that lived in the palace just had fancier clothes than the civilians outside of the palace, which makes sense, I think.

Because they are not Hylians or any other of the races that per definition wear clothes. We've seen that clothes are not a must for Gorons or Zoras. Only royalty and people who "need" to show off wear clothes.

Reasons to wear clothes other than show: Temperature & "Decency". We don't know the (average) temperature in the Twilight Realm or whether or not it knows seasons. Might as well have a consistent temperature that works fine without clothes. As for decency, the Twili have been something else once, something that is implied to have worn clothes. I can't see something as important as clothes easily be removed from a culture, but then again, who knows how they have been transformed.

Twili seem to be more humanoid than Gorons or Zoras, though, so they might wear clothes for the same reasons humans do. Besides, it looks like they do indeed wear clothes; their skin is a pale, bluish color, but the black markings must be clothes, because they all seem to be identical. If they were simply markings, I don't think they would be identical. Also, Midna's clothes are too symmetrical to be simply markings.

That's what I was trying to say.

I beg to differ. Plenty of animals have pretty much identical markings within a single species: pandas, parrots, butterflies, snakes, raccoons, and various tropical fish, to name a few; and that's all just off the top of my head. Markings aren't always randomized as in tigers, zebras, etc..
