Title: Sages?
Post by: Marcamillian on June 14, 2007, 08:01:07 AM
After completing TP i have been considering something

SPOILER IF YOU HAVN'T FINISHED TP!!

Well... in TP the sages are shown as somewhat human... even if they are ghosts (concurring with the sages in the opening of LttP and suggested by maindens all being human/hylian (as well as maidens in FSA) Now in TP one of these sages is destroyed... meaning there are only 6 sages. (does this emply that a sage doesn't need a physical body ,a'la Rauru, and can survive as a spirit... meaning heirs will only be born in the sages are "killed" as spirits using great magic such as the triforce)

Does this also suggest that LttP has to either be in a separate timeline or come before TP? Or does it mean something else. When the sages are shown in the opening to LttP there is one that is lower than the others... kneeling or just shorter.. or even dead? Could more sages have "died" so that in WW there are only two left.. without enough power between the two of them to do any sealing they are resigned to powering the master sword.

Sages of OoT and WW are not human... so how did they change between...spirits inhabiting any body they could find?

And while on the subject.. in TP the sages appear to be wielding a white sword... the same white sword (as in MC and LOZ?... consiquently the four sword).. how interesting

No, as  you see Ganondorf weilding it, it isn't the same type of sword.

Also, they are probably just incarnations of the sages.

Ok, in my opinion the sages are devided into 3 diffrent sects, if you will. The first (the OOT sages) guards the temples and the Triforce. They are normal looking and compries of the elements Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, Light, and Spirit. The second (WW sages) keep the Master Sword's power up with thier prayers and compries of Earth and Wind. They are also normal. The third (TP sages) guard the Twilight Mirror and are also responsible for the banishment/exicution of evil people (namely Ganondorf). These sages are ghostly, but compries of the same elements as the Triforce sect.

The ones that hold up the MS' power are of the same generation of the OoT ones. And TP's I think are just an incarnation of the sages, not the actual ones. And I think as seen in LttP, as the other races died out or moved away, it was spiritually passed down to new races(which was seen from Zora - Rito in WW) and it ended up the only races left were Hylian and Human.

No, the third one is the same as the first, because if you look at them closely they have the medallions from OOT on their outfits.

Just two minor thoughts on this matter:

A. Never has it been stated that only two Sages are responsible for the MS. They just happened to need replacement during TWW.
B. TP's Sages apparently don't need nr. 7 (aka current heir to the Hylian throne aka Zelda) or have a nr. 7 in their little group.

Yes they use the same elements as the 1st, but are only responsible for the mirror. The 1st group guards the temples, and the 2nd powers the master sword.
