Title: Family
Post by: Fishalicious on July 10, 2007, 08:31:20 AM
So... well, I'm hoping I don't bring up any issues in this topic. But... it's about family. How's your relationship with your family, etc.

As for me... I'm the oldest sibling. I have a mother, half-sister and step-dad living with me, though more than half the time, I never actually see my parents. Unlike most parents, they don't really have a set job; they work with just about anything. Building piers, moving buildings, herding goats, etc.

My sister Kaitlyn is annoying, she runs up to me and either points out the obvious or just... does annoying things. I really can't stand her, but hey, what can you do?

I don't necessarily have a good relationship with my parents. They don't really care what I do, unless it's against the law or their morals. They don't really enjoy my drawing every day, and really hate how I get money out of it. Making good grades is what I'm supposed to do; if I make less than an 80, it doesn't end well.

Honestly, it's more like I'm living in another world than with them. I cook, clean, etc. by myself for myself.

Oh, and though many people think animals are inferior, I treat them as part of my family and closer than friends.

Fluffy, a Somali, loves me more than any other cat. She gets depressed when I leave to a friends house, or even on a daytrip to another town. She just... doesn't leave me alone.

Cinnamon, an Abyssinian, doesn't really like me all that much, but she loves to sleep in my laundry baskets and on my blankets. She loves me when I give her water or drop a scrap of food for her. She's on drugs. (catnip)

Re (pronounced "Rah") is Cinnamon's twin, though he's really long and lanky. He's really paranoid and probably crazy. He's pretty bipolar and loves me but won't go in my room because he's scared to death of my fan. (he sometimes avoids coming in at all because of his fear of ceiling fans, as well.)

I have two parents, both of whom I'm on good terms with most of the time.

I also have a five year old sister.

That's about it...

I get on pretty well with my family.
I live with my mum, dad and older brother (he is 17, some of you may know him, hahaha).

I love them all and even though me and my brother fight a lot (like punching/kicking fighting), he is still awesome, and we always laugh so much when we're together.

The only annoying thing about my family is their contempt for me having an obsession with Japan.
My brother often says that they are backwards. He is so mean.
I'm not as close to my dad because he is out so much and he doesn't have much to do with my mums side of the family.

But yeah my family rock, I am really close to my mums parents. And my mums sister and her son (my cousin) but they live in the middle East so we can only meet in holidays, but in holidays we go out as a family everyday.
They all rock!

Yeah, my sister calls me a Japano-file. I call her a Euro-file since she's so obsessed with Russia and European music.
My family is cool with me liking Vaati, which is kick a**. lol.

My parents poke fun at me for my anime liking.  My mom makes jokes about my gaming habit, but my dad is a little lighter on it since he was a gamer when he was my age.

I wish I had a brother that was my age.  ;)

Two parents, an older sister, a little brother, and a baby sister, all of whom I am on good terms with. (But my sister's a single-timelinist. Bah.)

The horror! And I'm liking your sister already. She sounds like my kind of person. :P

Anyway, I live with my mom and my younger sister. Me and my mom get along quite well, but my sister is an entirely different story. We have this weird, bi-polar relationship. Sometimes we get along quite nicely, but other times we hate each other's frikkin' guts. It's quite odd.  ;)

I got my parents, two younger sisters, and a couple of good dogs. I get along with both my mom and dad pretty well. My sisters however, I must say, are the spoiled ones. My sister who is twelve is the complete opposite of me. She's a neat freak(borderline OCD), doesn't like videogames all that much, argues more with my parents, and is kinda bossy. My little sister, who is six, is ok. She's sometimes a little bit hyper, and throuws tantrums every now and again. She also doesn't play video games as much as I do, but she's currently addidicted to Pokemon. The only extended family I regularly interact with are my grandparents on my mom's side and my uncle from my dad's side. Over all my entire family is very nice, and I like to spend time time with them.

Naw, I'm fine with my family life... I'm pretty antisocial, anyways.

It's terrible that they docked your cats' tails... I can't stand people who do things like that.

My sister is going off to college, and she's the one I normally fight with. Usually about using the computer. But she's going to get her own laptop, so I could talk to her with ICQ while she's at college.
She's going to Denison in Ohio.

There is my brother, mother, father and me living in my house.

For a good portion of this year, I didn't really talk to my dad and my mom was on his side for everything. Basically, I didn't talk much.

I don't really like my brother that much. It's more indifference rather than hate, but I don't really feel all that sisterly towards him. Also, my parents favored him A LOT and it got to peak where people thought I wasn't part of the family. It's gotten better, though.

My dad thinks I have to be the smart one so anything close to a "B" isn't acceptable.

My Dog (Jack) and my Cat (Sammy) are basically family.
My dog is so lovely, he is a jack russel terrier and he had his tail docked, we adopted him after he was found wandering around a city.

I really miss my brother he has gone to France for work experience and i wont see him for two weeks until we go out to spend 3 and a half weeks there.
I wont be able to bear it when he goes to University... ;-;

Let me tell you about my family... Deaf/partially blind mother, Stepdad, 11-year old sister (technically half, but whatever), and a 23 year old brother who just graduated and is living on his own in Tennessee.

Anyway, I'm extremely antisocial, avoiding most if not all contact with them. I don't really watch TV or anything, just spend all my time on the computer... Typical antisocial nerd behavior. Sometimes when the family is going out somewhere, I'll just opt not to go, I just don't really feel like going...

My sister, I can't really talk to her much, she doesn't talk me that often... But she seems to be really mature, but what do I know ? She's always quiet... and she brings friends over, which I don't like too well...
You know, most days I'll only eat two meals. We don't have too much food most of  the time...

me too! but its usually cus i don't get up early enough for breakfast, so i just skip it :]

i wish i had a brother or a sister...
i get ALL the chores and if anything happens its my fault and the blame is on me :[ if i just had a sibling to blame it all on...
but then again, being an only child has its perks too.

im very vocal with my mom and dad, if i don't like something, they'll know it... i think they underestamate me sometimes. i love them and they're really proud of me.

when my mom took me to get a wii at the 24 hour walmart we took turns shopping and waiting in line. my dad even brought us fast food! we only had to wait like 5 hours...

anyway, I'm hungry a lot of the time... I NEED FOOD!

I don't eat very often, either. I eat like... one or two meals a day. Usually soup...

Just about everyone in my family is left-handed. My mom, my stepdad, my grandpa (ambidextrous), me... XD My sister isn't, though.

Oh, and my Uncle Lloyd and grandma live at grandma's house.

And so do some other pets... Karma, a loveable and fat dog, Clarence, an ancient cat, though he's nice(and saved my uncle from being attacked by a snake once) and Baby, who's just as old as Clarence but not as nice. She likes to catch lizards and frogs. And then we have my chicken, Basil. ^^ Words cannot describe her awesomeness.

I suppose you could say I'm lucky to have two parents still together and a little sister and brother.... it's just that lately they've been fighting a lot and they keep making me choose sides.... Not outright, of course, but they're inferring it and it makes me sick. As soon as I can I'm moving out, not just because my parents fight but it's just in my nature. I don't want to hang around my parents, I want to be alone. I've become a lot more rebellious lately, because before when my dad accused me of something I would just sit there, depressed, but now I stand up for myself more. I know my parents love me, but my dad always criticizes me and my grades, even though they've been perfect for a really long time. My mom doesn't really care what I do-  sometimes I wish she would just say she was proud of me, instead of saying, oh, that's nice. I've probably mentioned it before, but I'm really serious when it comes to piano. I've played in quite a number of recitals, including big conventions like the Music Teacher's Association ones. I'll tell my mom, "Guess what, I got in again!" And she'll just nod. Maybe it's not my place to complain since I have parents that are still together, but it's what's bothering me at the moment.
The relationship with my sister is okay, I guess, and normal. She annoys me, like she should, but we're fine.

No, it's okay to complain. My mom's the same way... well, both my parents are. They don't seem to care much, and when they do, they care that I'm not living up to expectations.

I'm moving out as soon as I can, when I'm 18 it's off to University on my own/ a gap year travelling trip. But I don't want to leave my mum, we are ultra close, it's not the fact I wont be able to cope its just that my brother will already be off somewhere. And my parents dont get on too well, they probably would've split up by then and I dont want to leave her alone.
Though for some reason my parents are getting on, or at least not arguing anymore. I'd rather they split up and be happy than live together and not.

But yeah, my parents want me to get the most out of life so they'll let me move out at 18, if I can afford it. Neither of my parents were very academic so they're very supportive but often think I'm silly when I complain that I came 2nd in the year instead of 1st.

yeah, one of the thing in my family is that I'm the only one who usually understands technology on a regualr basis. My mom kinda knows some stuff but not much. So when my parents have technology problems, or if my sisters have trouble when they actually play video games, I'm the one they go to.

I always go to my brother with computer stuff, or my dad my mother doesn't even know what "That red X in the corner" does.
But my dad annoyed me today because I left the computer on overnight to do a 10 hour download, there was only an hour left and he turned the computer off. --_--
But he has gone away in his caravan to roam the countryside so now I can download whatever I want, cha.

Hmm... As soon as I'm old enough, I'm moving out. I've done things that I'm not proud of, and when my mom is like "You're such a good kid", in my mind I'm like aww shut up! :-*

Because then I'm stewing in my own guilt. THEN, they always want to get involved in my relationships. Its what drives most of my girl friends away ???

When they feel like something is wrong with me, they always want to "talk about it". Sometimes, I just want to be left alone, but they don't understand that because they're like the friggin Brady Bunch, they're always happy and skippy, and chipper. People like that piss me off when I'm depressed XD

Dad (39 years old)
My dad is quite a card. He does the best he can, but he's a weirdo sometimes. He's awfully strict sometimes, and he gets worked up about the smallest things.
"Who left the *navi* left the vacuum cleaner plugged in?!?"

Mom (37 I think)
My mom is also quite a character. She's a worry wart. She won't let me go anywhere without knowing why, and who's going to be there. She's extremely nosy. She likes to read everything I type over AIM after I type it, and she gets on to check. There is a big company for nosy parents, which really sucks.

Sister (11 years old)
STUPID. How she manages to get A's in school shocks the hell outta me. She waits for me to finish up what I have to do on the computer by watching Disney Channel(which I also hate a whole lot), right next to the computer. There are 5 TV's in the house, and uses the one right by the computer. I listen to music, so she turns her "Hannah Montanna" up so loud that it hurts her ears, just so that I can't hear my music. Then, she wastes the rest of her day playing the Sims. I swear to god, she thinks she has friends, but they're only mean to her. I tried to explain that her, but she won't listen to a word I say. She's daddy's little girl, so when she cries, she gets her way, and believe me, she knows how to fake it.

Wiki (mah kitty)
She's probably the softest thing in existence. I wuv her so much, because when I need a hug, she's always there to cuddle for a while XD
She's been sick though, and she's been throwing up. Instead of finding out whats wrong, my parents have decided to take her to the animal shelter. I won't let them take her no matter what happens.

ZV (15 [I'm turning 16 soon ^^] years old)
I wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, clean up, and watch a little TV. After that, I usually play either SSBM, Majora's Mask, or Naruto Clash of Ninja 2. When I'm bored with that, I hit the net, and talk to all my friends. I have to do that before my sister wakes up though, or she'll nag the heck out of me to play Sims. Soon after, my mom gets home from work, and yells at me for the chores I forgot to do. Then we eat dinner. My sister always eats faster, and pretends to be full, so she can fly up the steps and play the Sims before I can hit TDC. I live with the reward of being full, and I don't regret it XD So then I usually talk on the phone with a friend, play a game of pool, and call it a day. My life gets more interesting than that, but thats during the school year.... ::)

While caring is great, it's just like pretty much anything -- too much can kill you. Or, in this case, your personal life.

Some people want caring parents, some want parents who care less... It's personal opinion, really.

Having an older brother isn't too great.

He calls me an emo, and once said I was a "disgusting goth" while we were shopping, so I ran away from him, anyone who has seen my pictures in the face book will know I am neither emo nor goth.

He is obsessed with Bob Dylan and other artists like that. And he is vain (in my opinion) he had relatively straight hair, but in an effort to be more "Indie" spent his whole time scrunching it just so he could get that, messier than thou look.

He's quite nosy though so much so that he noticed I was on this website and decided to make an account. And everyone knows what happened then. I tried getting an account on his Bob Dylan Forum but they refused me because I chose Bob Marley as my username.

Yeah he is awesome though, and uber protective which is nice to a degree and he is eally clever, he knows more about politics than anyone in his school. And he has the best sense of humour ever, seriously, he is funnier than anyone I have ever met /talked to.

My younger sister... well, she's rather... how do I say this? Fat. She loves to eat; she eats everything and anything, as long as there's not a trace of good in it. She throws temper tantrums quite often and gets things her way. She'll run by and hit me for no reason at all, and then cry to my parents when I grab her hand and tell her you shouldn't hit people.

She adores the Disney Channel, Spongebob Squarepants, and Hannah Montana. She once saw me playing SSBM in my room, and now tries to play games with me every second. She's quite fond of Zelda games, as well.

My parents describe her as "shy" around people, but dear god... she simply doesn't shut up when I bring friends over.

She's terrified of my cats. Terrified.

My brother likes videogames but like completely opposite ones to me, like Star Wars, blech.

He comes into my room while I'm trying to sleep at like 11:30 or 6 in the morning. And says "Let's play wii Sports" I say no and he just turns on my wii, sits on me and does it anway. And he always takes his iPod stereo into my room, why cant he just listen with earphones!

He also comes up to me when I'm sitting down, whacks me over the head with a stick and says "let's fight". And then keeps hitting me, or when we're watching TV he'll start throwing cushions at me. Or when i'm on the computer he says "Talking to Internet Bob are we?" and then sits on the desk and lies on the keyboard. So I have to pull him off the desk and then he falls off and starts hitting me because I "Should have caught him"

2. Do say he comes in and turns on his I-Pod Stereo: turn it up as loud as it will go until he finally gets annoyed with himself, and turns it off.
3. He lays on the keybored? Put the speaker next to his ear, and blast screamo
:P

Better yet, blast some Five Iron Frenzy in his ear; it certainly gave me quite the shock this morning. XD (Never, EVER turn up the volume while waiting for something to unfreeze... ever.)

Haha thanks for the advice.

Most of the time he's not so bad though, he buys me presents for no reason at all.
He's in France right now and it is so weird him not being here, I miss him ;_;

At least you people have siblings that talk to you. :( My cousins familyu died, so he came to live with me when I was 6, and NEVER talks to me. We used to be friends, but not anymore.
I live with my parents, and my dog.
Mom, not that great. When she says stuff, she believes it no matter what. If I try to tell her the truth, she yells at me.
Dad, better. He sides with my mom no matter what. When I bought my PS2 with stolen cash(not my fault some idiot left it lying around) he said he'd play baseball with it unless I earned 280$ in work. I didn't even get that much. The 1st thing I had to do was build a 7 by 7 foot landing step for my shed. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( And I still have things to do.
My dog favors my parents more than me, and barks when someone rings the doorbell.

I'm fairly antisocial, so I can't stand it when my sister talks...
