The Desert Colossus

I don't have a title for it, but the first page of it is done. I really should plan this all out before I draw it, but its only the first page, what could it hurt eh? Anyways, the plot: A man and woman have a child. Man leaves woman. Woman cannot support child, and leaves in care of uncle. Uncle too lazy. Drops child off in the desert. Child is found by gang of thieves. Child grows up with thieves, and becomes one. He doesn't want to be a thief, but its all he has ever known.

The rest of the plot? Where does it go from there? idk :P
but I got some cool characters sketched out. :)

sounds interesting  :) i would like to make stories but im very... borring. my brother can think of very interesting stories. hes working on a original manga ^_^ but thats all i can tell you haha

I actually can make interesting stories, but the problem is, I have no drawing skills at all.  :-*

If only I lived in Japan, then I could be a mangaka.  :(

you have to be lucky to have drawing skills and be creative  :) im glad i can at least draw  :D

and like how I'm good with storylines but horrible with art. That's why you make partnerships, like with me and Piksi.

I'll be keeping an eye on it..

My dad goes places on business trips, and we'll actually be living in Japan for a while. While I'm there, I'm gonna learn as much as I possibly can! :D

Well, ZV, it sounds very good. It doesn't sound cliche, since the way the child changes hands from three people in his family to the thieves sounds new to me. Could you maybe show me one of the sketches? That is, if you don't mind.

Like me, he might not know he to, in which case we'll never know what they look like.  :(

The pictures I have online of me? I had a friend scan them, and send them to me in an email >:( Thats how screwed up it is. My mom says that if I can find the thing to download the memory for the scanner or w/e she can scan it!! ;D ;D ;D

YOu don't need to scan your camera, just get a USB cord and upload it..

omg you just don't get it!! We don't have a digital camera, and we don't have a USB cord, the ONLY thing we have is a scanner, okay? I've got a big enough head ache as it is trying to find whatever the hell my mom meant.

Um, ZV, it's MS Paint. It naturally stinks. Either way, that is a pretty good drawing. I like the goggles, myself, but the daggers/swords on his belt are hard to decipher.

It's much better than what I can do with MS Paint. :P

Thanks, but yeah, I didn't take a lot of time on it, seeing as how all we need to do is download an update or something so that I can scan the first page. Note that this is my first Manga in a LONG time. I may still be a bit rusty. Also, I really need to work on my penmanship so that you guys can actually read it :P :P

It looks great! I like it... photoshop is amazing for pictures, by the way. Since you have that, you could probably do very well on it.

And all the anti-MS paint comments made me cry. I love MSP, and I'd like to think I'm fairly good with it.

I'll tell you this: Goggles will get annoying to draw quickly. Try to make them get broken quickly to avoid the pain.

No, no, part of drawing manga is patience and devotion. If it takes me an hour to draw goggles, the hell, it'll take two hours per page. :)
