This is a poll and a topic where you can talk about the sidekicks. I noticed just yesterday that in every game, almost every sidekick leaves you at the end of the game. :-\
POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!
Navi leaves through the window in the Temple of Time, Tatl stays with Tael and Skull Kid as Link leaves Termina Field, King of Red Lions (or Daphnes Nohanes Hyrule) is left at the bottom of the sea (kinda ironic since he was a boat), Ezlo went through the Minish portal, and Midna went back to the Twilight Realm before the mirror shattered...
END OF SPOILERS!!!
*Sniff* I miss them. :( So, let's talk about them all. :)
Ezlo is the greatest sidekick ever. :B
Midna. Navi had no personality and gave obvious advice. Tatl gave some usefull advice and I would put her as second. Ezlo, I would put at third, because he had no good advice. KoRL was alright, but I didn't really like him, he was boring.
Midna is awesome, she had a personality, a dark side, a story, and was one of the five main characters.
Midna is too cliched and overrated, in my opinion. Navi is just composed of epic amounts of suck and fail. Tatl was better, nothing mindblowing though; she's somewhere around the Midna level. And, having never played TMC, I can't really say anything as to Ezlo.
So I think I'll have it my way and go with the King as favorite.
"You are surprisingly dull-witted."
I can just imagine him talking in this dry British accent, which is about seven different kinds of awesome. And how can you not like a talking dragon boat telepathically controlled by the deceased king of a long lost kingdom? Come on.
i liked Midna best, Tatl was cool too

How was Midna cliched?
Oh, come now. A character gets wronged by the big bad antagonist and seeks revenge. On this dark path to revenge they meet the main character and try to use them to further their selfish aims. Over the course of the adventure the main character grows on them and they have a change of heart where they eventually try and sacrifice themselves to save said main character.
lol nevr herd that be4 am i rite (http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/Commodore_Axilon/Forum%20Crap/stupid.gif)
Its not the most original thing, but its not a cliche. At the very least it takes parts from different cliches.
Ah, I need to learn to elaborate more...
Well, I don't really use Link's sidekicks for help when I play the games, so I don't care about whether or not they give good advice. ^^;
Ezlo was awesome just because... well, I don't know, I just like him. His attitude is what made him great, I think. He'd complain about spin attacks making him busy, and tell Link to brush his hair, calling him short, and... well, he stores sandwiches on Link's head.
Ezlo: Ah, what I wouldn't do for a nice, hot bath... What? You'd take me to the laundromat?! How dare you treat me like your average laundry!
Midna. She was hilarios at times. She was the first sidekick that I actually cared about what happened to her.
Navi was annoying, and had no personality.
Talt had a personality, but was not really an integral part of the story
KORL's lines were so genaric I had a feeling that Stephen King wrote his parts.
Ezlo's character seemed to have a compleat lack of direction. They seemed to have tried to make him funny, useful, and an important part of the story at the same time, but they failed miserably at each of these parts.
Two questions:
Since when is "being nice" "having no personality". So Navi is the only sidekick Link ever had that didn't hit him, treated him like dirt, use him etc., does that mean she has no personality? With thoughts like that, I can understand why jerks still rule this world.
Explain to me how Midna's character is not cliché, but instead "not the most original".

And that's why I like ol' Daphnes there. He was the only one who didn't act like a complete tool towards Link (excluding Navi of course, but she has a whole slew of other problems). And sure he might have used Link a
little bit, but he wasn't a jerk about it and what he was doing was really quite important.
They're all a little rude in their own way. Tatl hits Link in the very beginning of MM and sort of growls at him, but that's before she becomes your sidekick. Navi just pops out and says things at the wrong time. KoRL seems to be okay, except I don't like how he won't let me go to any island I want when I have to get the pearls...Midna is sort of selfish up until after you beat the Lakebed Temple, and Ezlo treats you like an idiot sometimes.
But to Commodore Zod, yeah, that and I think Ezlo would have a British accent, too. But at first, when I only saw him in his hat form, I thought Gilbert Gottfried would make a great voice.(http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0331906/) ;D But now I think Dave Goelz (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0324397/) would be the perfect voice for Ezlo, kind of sqawky, but with a British accent. But only the way he did the voice of Sir Didymus in Labyrith.
I picked the mindia one cause she isn't as annoying as the other fairies that constantly pop out when you already know what you're doing.
Problems with Link's sidekicks:
Navi - Pops up at the wrong time and gives you obvious information.
Tatl - Gives obvious information and is bossy.
King of Red Lions: Gives obvious information, and would let you venture certain places.
Ezlo: Never gives useful information and a little bossy.
Midna: Bossy.
Pretty much the overal problem with sidekicks are they're bossy and give obvious information. Why can't they be like Batman's sidekick, Robin? lol. (jk) ;)

I can picture it now, Link is surronded by enemies, and Navi is giving you her "HEY, LISTEN!" routine, and when you finally talk to her, she says: "Holy Moblin, Link! It's a Moblin!"
You'll only understand it if you've watched the old Batman.
When she goes "HEY!!!" right out of the blue, it makes me jump out of my skin.
Personally, I think Robin was still better. He was more... obediant.
"Holy Flaming Keese Link, it's a trap! To the Wolf Cave!"
-dananananana!-
Shrugs. Midna or Ezlo. I still cant choose.
