I've just noticed that in none of the Zelda games, you are never told how old Link is supposed to be (at least most of them, there are some I haven't played). So basically, tell me how old you think Link is in each game using this format:

Which game? 'Cause I'm pretty sure they don't in TWW.
The only game where I think Link's age is clear is in AoL, I remember them saying that a mark appeared on his 16th birthday.

I think its the grandma that says on the twelfth birthday of a child it is a tradition or something that you wear the clothing of the hero of time. Im not too sure of who said it, but im possitive it was said in the game.
And I'm positive it wasn't. Play it again.

I have played it many times and they all say the same thing. Link is 12 in the game. You can think you are possitive but I know im possitive because they say it more than once. If you have to erase a file and start the game over go ahead. They say it at the beginning, remember when his sister is telling you happy birthday? Then eventually you go to your grandma's house and tells you about it. But whatever, its not really that big a deal.
Link, Hero of Winds. (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/file/469050/23534)
I win. :P
what?
Uh, I don't know, click the link maybe? It shows that Link's age was never stated in-game, only that it was his birthday.
argh, i guess you did win according to this fan-made faq link you showed me, not that i dont think he was 12 years old. I remember reading that someone who was involved with the game confirmed that his age was 12. And i still think it says somewhere in it that he is 12. but o well, like i said its not that important, do you know how old link was in TP?
Quote from: The Fierce Deity on December 12, 2007, 01:33:37 PM
what?
One word post...
Link looks fairly older in TP, although that's probably because of increase in graphics. He seems to be in the late teens.
Here you go. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mADNRKY4sg&feature=related)
I personally think he's eight, and if you scan the above video, you'll see that it never says he twelve.

It says when there the age of the hero.
That's...That's not what they're talking about :-*
I was looking at the trophies in Brawl and it says that "his green clothes were worn on his 12th birthday and are the lucky outfit of the hero of legend."

Then he must be 12. But, if TWW Link is 12 years old, that means that OoT Young Link is 12 years old. And that means that Old Link is 19. ;) LOL I
doing the math ;D
Not necessarily. It's a legend by then, remember?
The link from OoT wasn't 12 when he started his journey.
He was 10.
In the Japanese manga it says so.
The mangas aren't canon.
Does it say WHICH Link got the clothes at 12 though?

The Legendary Hero in mentioned in WW is the Hero of Time I believe :-\ But if OoT Link is 10, why do the kids in WW get green clothes when they are 12?
I think somebody already answered that question.

See, time has this habit of distorting facts sometimes. It's kind of a factor in making legends.
OK, split time theory. In the end of OoT, LInk defeats GAnon as an adult. Why then kids wear green clothes when they are 12 and not, 17? :)
JK: Young Link is 5, so Adult Link is 12 so everything fits!!! :D
Do you seriously not understand this? HNS just explained it.
It's a legend.
No matter what sort of timeline you believe in it still makes sense.
...12 is hardly 'adult.'
And being 5 when he's young is a bit ridiculous, don't you think...? >_> Regardless of fiction or not, I don't think that's a reasonable age.
I think he was joking with that part, hence the "JK".
Indeed. 10 is stretching it for me.
Also, you can act like an adult when you're 12, but you still won't quite be an adult yet. Maybe except for if your race's average life expectancy is 30 years, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Hylians.
...
...
wow, okay, sorry about that. >_>
Unless, of course, he was serious. Then I'm slightly less sorry.

Whether it's the child timeline or the adult timeline, he starts his journey as a child.

I was joking lolololllololololol ;D . Ok, if it is all a legend, the how can you explain this: Why OoT Young Link cant brand the Master Sword, but WW Link can?
Because Rauru didn't feel OoT Link was old enough.
And how does that explain the change in the size of the sword? :-\
Neither of them can brand the Master Sword, not now that it has been created. Or do you mean brandish? A better word would have been "wield."
Also, it just isn't a Zelda game without a couple of plot holes.

Excuse my ignorance once more. :(
Educate yourself. (http://dictionary.reference.com/)
And why did you change the question? Now I feel like a fool. :'(

Different artistic styles.
Huh. You didn't change the question. Gah! I'm losing my mind! D:
Also, the way Rauru set it up, Young Link wouldn't be able to draw the blade without getting zapped to the future. And it wasn't that he couldn't use it--its that he wouldn't be able to use it well enough to take on Ganon in all his might until he was older.
