Title: Where you live
Post by: MatthewThief on August 08, 2007, 05:00:34 PM
i was wondering if anyone wants to talk about how the weather and climate is in your state. i always like learning about new areas  :D

i live in the north centrel area of the u.s. the summers are really hot and the winters are either extremely cold or really mild. it doesnt snow much but when it does it really snows  :-*

Me and my bro live in Nevada. It hardy ever rains here, or snows, and alot when summer comes here it gets hot. So yeah, we live in a desert even though it doesn't look like it. But when fall gets here it starts smelling like Halloween (Smells good) and starts getting chilly. Then when winter comes we don't get any snow for Christmas. XPP Which sux. My Christmas last year would've been complete if it snowed. But one time the snow was really deep.

Seems I live in a similar place Sess.  I live in Northwest Ohio, so like Sess said, the summers are hot and the winters are bitter.

i dont like cold weather, im not talking about 30 or 20 degrees.. it gets below zero in the winter with the wind chill, then i go out to help my brother shovel and the plows like to plow all the snow on our slab  ::) so its really heavy. not even two jackets keep me warm

Uhh... I'd just like to point out the redundancies of the statement of summer being hot. I mean, summer is HOT EVERYWHERE!

Even in Canada!

North Carolina and mostly temporate. Falls are cool, but can get fairly cold... Though Nowhere near as cold as places in the far north (Read: Tundra Wastelands) like Ohio, Canada, or southern florida. :P

We have stuff in the teens during the winter.  So, it's not TOO cold, but still pretty cold.

Were I live I would probably be pretty embarassed. I mean, could you imagine messing up in front of all those people? Pre-recorded would be much easier, I would think.

Edit: Grr, why'd you fix it? Such insolence! >:(

Big windows eh? That'd be quite fun... You take a peek out there and it's like your floating on the clouds and the ground just disappears. VERTIGO!!!

it'd be very fun to see that, go all around and embrace your fears in the carnival of terrors!

Why dost thou show no love for autumn?

Pretty average. Warm in spring, hot in summer, cool in fall, and cold in winter.

Staten Island, New York... it's sunny most of the time, but on occasion we get alot of rain or a really severe thunderstorms....

In the winter, it's icy cold. Like -10 sometimes. In the fall, its mild and the trees change all these beautiful colors, like yellows and reds and oranges. The spring is a bit hot, and everything blooms and makes my allergies go crazy. And the summer's tend to be hot too. Only sometimes, we have strecthes of mild weather.

We haven't had rain in ages, its hard to belive the green on our golf course hasn't became known as a Brown, because everyother place with "grass" is brown.

I live in south Texas, and it's a fairly nice place in the winter and fall, however, it's humid in the spring, and just plain HOT in the summer! However, this summer was weird, since it rained a lot, and we are well over the yearly average now.
Title: Re:Where you live
Post by: JDog on August 09, 2007, 12:12:14 PM
man, and too think I thought Texas was a desert basically. ;D
Title: Re:Where you live
Post by: Zoratunic on August 09, 2007, 03:23:36 PM
That's just the steryotype of Texas. West Texas is fairly dry, but the eastern half is pretty green most of the year, unless there's a drought. Then the grass turns rough and brown.
Title: Re:Where you live
Post by: JDog on August 09, 2007, 03:27:55 PM
Yeah, normally here in old fairview michigan, its usually wet, but for some reason, its all dry this year. which is not normal.

I live in Washington. The climate doesn't change severly. 30's (lowest) in winter and 90's (highest) in the summer. We get a lot of rain it makes the air quality nice and generally keeps wind cooler.
Title: Re:Where you live
Post by: JDog on August 09, 2007, 05:05:25 PM
I think michigan's lowest is like below zero ;D
Title: Re:Where you live

it gets way below zero here

I live in Southern Texas, as well... Rockport/Fulton, a tiny little art (and drinking) town that's so small we had to shove two towns together. I live on a peninsula just outside of the city limits, though. My grandma's house is in Wetlands, and it's even further out.

It's hot and humid...

ALWAYS.

And yes, it has rained a lot. In San Antonio, we were leaving a Burger King, and a gigantic swarm of locusts landed on our truck while we were eating; we had to leap into the truckbed and drive around in circles to get them off so we could get in.

By the way, there is no such thing as a Wendy's or a Burger King here. Not a single (decent) burger joint. We have to go to Whataburger or, god forbid, McDonald's.

And for being an art town, there is not a single place to even buy markers. We used to have one, but then LOL WALGREENS. ^^ I hate having to travel for half an hour to reach a Hobby Lobby after being dragged everywhere else by my parents just so I can buy more paint.

As my sister stated, we live in Nevada. (It's pronounced Nuh-va-duh, by the way, not Neh-vaw-duh.) So far, we've had no rain whatsoever this spring and summer, and the once or twice it did rain, there was just barely enough to make the sidewalk wet, but it evaporated as soon as the sun came out. Winters are a hit-or-miss, snow-wise, but when it snows, it's usually pretty decent. We once had snow over three feet deep! That was so much fun! I remember we had to go to my Grandpa's house to get the snow off the roof of the barn. We could literally jump off of the roof and not get hurt with all the snow! It seems like we alternate every year between having snow and not having snow at Christmas. Summer usually gets pretty hot, but having no precipitation at all this year, combined with this area's tendency towards high winds and all of the dry lightning storms we've been having makes us a good candidate for wildfires. We've had several major ones around here this year alone. I guess this pretty much tells you what kind of climate we have.

I heard from my grandpa that it was a half-inch of rain. Not much, but certainly not bad compared to what we've (FYI, I was visiting up there at the time; "we've" is appropriate) been getting.

Dean should hit Mexico, however, the Government has to be redundant, and send my dad and his coworkers (they work as contracters for the Government as disaster relief coordinators), to COLORADO! Apparently that's where that branch's base is.

South-East England, woo!
The past few days the weather has been having a jolly good laugh, it makes it freezing in the morning, so all the little year 7's get all wrapped up, then around lunchtime it heats up again so all the little year 7's get in a terrible fluster over where to put their scarves...

I wish it would decide if it wants to be hot or cold, I need a new coat.
