For me, school starts on the 20.... (3 more days?).... I'm kinda excited and then disappointed. We start early but get summer vacation early too. When does school start for all of you?
I feel so awesome because I'm starting college and almost everyone else is still in regular school. WHOO HOO!
and I'm starting 6th form. WOO YEAH!
Me and GF start thursday... i am exited to start
meh, all i have left to do is study everything before i take my big test...

Care explaining the second part of that sentence to me?
I need to get all A's if I want to keep my chance to get into a good college.
well, my school doesn't start for like another two weeks. so yeah...
same here. *sits back with lemonade and watches the poor saps on the other side of the Atlantic go to school, using his huge telescope. Not stolen from NASA*
ooooooh, care if I join in? and I can take digital pictures and post them on google, so other people can watch their suffering. ;D
I am relinquishing their suffering in the public school system, MWAHAHAHAHA.
Anyway, Tuesday is beginning of classes.
Lots of people slack off in their Senior year... So long as you do fairly well, you won't have to worry as much as you did in previous years (LIke me).
I start on the 27th. At least the last week will be fun since my uncle is visiting from New York!
I really can't wait to see the crew again. But man, its gonna suck having 3 match classes. I have Geometry, Chemistry, and Computer Algebra. My friend Damon says chemistry is a lot of math...

Don't ask why. But I've done my slacking. And I'll need straight A's this year to compensate for lost grades.
if it's anything like it is over here, it'll be boring, but with the odd explosion.
oh, well, it is pretty boring over here, lol, same as the teachers, there is only one teacher I have that is fun to listen to because he's freaking hilarous.
CHemistry isn't so hard. So long as you have a calculator of significant quality, you'll be fine. Calculators are encouraged with chemistry. Either graphing or scientific.
In Two Weeks. ;_;
everyone already knows me, though. My parents know everyone's parents and... well, dressing up to talk to people is rather... memorable. 8D;

sure, my c key isnt that good
i dont need straight A's
I start on the 22nd. I still haven't finished my two books I need to read!
I forget what day I start, but I know its not for another week or so...
I think my new school starts on the fifth of September. I really hope that coupled with my game and fanfic, school won't be so bad. ;)
Hey mags, what school are you going to anyway?
I'd say it, but I'm concerned for Internet safety. It's not like you guys are Internet scandals or anything; it's that there could be someone who IS that's viewing this thread... So, sorry, but I'm keeping that classified.
Coo, Im starting 8th on monday. I agree with Sasori, Im eager to see my old pals after a summer of isolation. I got average grades last year and I've done my load of slacking so im aiming for above C grades. Old Conway Middle aint that bad.
Augh, by the way, I voted "Must. Get. A!" because... well, I'm supposed to get A's. >_>
By the way, Mags, you start school on a Wednesday? That's unusual, I think.
I must get As but that doesn't mean I like doing it.
I must get all A's if I want to get into the college I'm aiming for.
I won't settle for anything less than an A.... My friends say my ego is even bigger than a guy's.

School... I'm indifferent to school, really. I don't hate it, because it gives me something to do during the day, but I don't like it, because I'm always tied down by it in one way or another. At least I'm not in public school, though, or my entire life, and my family's, would be under their control.
Thats actually a good way to explain it. I feel that way too.
Well today was my 4th day of school, and I'm kinda busy so I won't be on TDC as much and not at all on Runescape until the weekend because I'm not allowed to play video games on weekdays :(
Suckers. I don't start school until Septmber 4th! NEW YORK FTW! ;D ;D
But the sad thing is I actually wanna go back to school.... I miss my peeps... :'(
I start on September 5th.
I'll be in Year 10, doing my GCSE's!!
And I have dropped History and Music, oh yeah!
I just have to convince my brother and grandparents that Art is a worthwhile subject.
I got my results. I got C in art, and all I did was scribble on pieces of paper.
And apparently, I was given incorrect information. I don't start school until the fourth, not the fifth. :P

Haha, cool.
Are you doing it at A-level as well?
yesterday was mine and GF's firrst day, i thought it sucked except for the free pop in programming, today sucked too, a lot of manual labor
Don't complain, you barely did anything besides lifting the computers out of the truck.
Anyways, my teachers are pretty good this year. My Spanish teacher is really cool.
i really like my anatomy teacher, she is crazy, but she is the funniest teacher i've had so far

You've got 8 periods?
My school does. Why can't there be eight periods?
Yeah, we have 8 periods... it was seven last year. The freshmen coming in also have to get four more credits, as well.
Me? In my seniour year, I'll have two or three (possibly four) free spaces for electives/wandering aimlessly around the halls. :D Probably end up having two or three art/computer classes, knowing me.
I can't believe that school starts tommorow morning. I know it had to start eventually, but that still couldn't make me accept it.
We only have 5 periods, an hour each.
There's a two week timetable we have a different mix of lessons each day over that time, then it repeats. If I were to post my timetable it would take up a lot of room.
Not that I even have it yet.
Heheh, classes for me are set up in MWF/TR format.
Like so -
MWF
English 101 - 11 am-11:50
Art Seminar - 12Pm-12:50
TR
Drama 115 - 8 am-9:15 am
Calc I - 3:30 PM-4:45 PM
Apparently I have it easy... not that walking a lot is considered 'easy'...
Here's my schedule:
1. Pre-IB Eng. 1
2. Spanish 2
3. Pre-IB World Geography
4.Lunch
5.Pre-iB Biology
6.Boys P.E.
7.Pre-IB Geometry
8 Health Ed.
For those of you are wondering, IB is a special honors program.
IB is overrated and only assigns as much college credit as AP, but IB is harder, so that makes the effort not as worthwhile.
I have six periods...I got Drama, so I'm happy...want to get all A's, if only so my sister will shut up... ???
...WHATTTT!!?? I would die if I had 8 periods. I only have 4 periods per semester (an hour and 15 mins each). They used to have one which you could take during lunch, but then they got rid of it.I start on September 4th. Annnd.. I don't really remember what my schedual is.. I lost the papers somewhere, ha. But I think I remember the classes I took. Let me see.
-Art
-Animation (gr. 11)
-Animation (gr. 12) <--I could only take this if I took gr. 11 first.
-Earth Science.. Or Geography? Something like that.
-CO-OP (two credits)
-English
And there was another. Think maybe math? Not sure.
Uhh... I think the whole 8-period dealio was the same as the four period a semester dealio... Err... But my junior year in high school, the administration was stupid enough to go from a block 4-period a semester schedule to a 7-period schedule Per day. Anyway, the Block periods were 90 minute classes each, while the 7-period ones were 50 minutes each. Guess who wins with the Block Schedule?
AP! (one class over two semesters.)
I used to have four classes a day, and each day would alternate classes, except for Art. My schedule was like this:
"A" Day:
- French
- Social Studies
- English
- Art
"B" Day:
I'm pretty sure Art would have been replaced with something else if I had stayed into the second semester... I don't remember what it was, though.
I've only got 6 periods:
1st: Algebra 2
2nd: Band
3rd: PE
4th: Honors Biology
5th: Japanese
6th: Honors English
A picture of my school. It's ok.

Hilarious! Those comics just get better and better!
I got 8
1. CAD
2. something else
3. Something else
4. Something else
5. Something else
6. Enrichment
7. Something else
8. Sleep time(jk)
I can't really remember what class's I have, my mom hid my schedule... lol
i guess i'll post my schedule:
1. programming
2. same
3. religions/ graphing calc
4. LA
5. Lunch
6. Pre-calc
7. Anatomy
8. Study hall

Well, that's certainly an...
interesting combination.
Here's mine!1. AP Biology
2. AP Chemistry
3. 1st semester: Drafting/Architecture II
2nd semester: English IV
4. 1st semester: Computer Applications I
2nd semester: AP Statistics
Yeah, that's...that's it.
i have religions 1st sem and graphing calc 2nd sem
Seems like I never posted my schedule. Oh well, no time like the present.
1st: Computer and Programming Simulations(Advanced)
2nd: ^
3rd: Algebra 2B
4th: Literacy Inquiry(Honors)
5th: Study Hall
6th: Lunch
7th: Spanish
8th: Symphonic Marching Band
I have a six-period schedule. I don't get my new schedule until the first day of school ( :-* ).
Last year's school schedule was:
1st- PE/ Science
2nd- Algebra
3rd- Science/ Tech
4th- Language Arts
5th- History
6th- Art/Woodshop
I think some of my schedule's around here somewhere... ah yes, here it is:
1. Modern Literature
2. Trigonometry
3. College Prep Chemistry
4. Earth/Space Science
5. Government
I don't think I have it all figured out yet, but hopefully I will soon. I'm not looking forward to Literature or Government, though... :-*
Do you all have the same lessons in the same order everyday??
Don't you get like... bored?
We don't have timetables but the subjects I'm doing are:
-English (Literature and Language)
-Science (Chemistry, Biology and Physics
-Maths
-Art
-Geography
-ICT
-French
-Religious Studies
-Leisure Pursuits
Of course we get bored. Americans are famous for getting bored and lazy.

And I can't help but agree with JQ on what he said, too. :-X
Ah.. I see, too bad.
I guess you get used to it.
At least it prevents mess-ups. You know, going to the wrong class at the wrong time because you mixed them up. I'm thankful for that. :P
Alright, here's mine:
1. Biology Honors
2. Drama
3. English Honors
4. CAD
5. Integrated Math 3 Honors
6. World History
If only I were having drama this year... *looks up into the sky with a dreamy look on face, relishing the thought*
They didn't give it to me my Freshman year :-*Which stinks, cuz I have it now and it's just as good as I thought it would be, especially since there is a girl in there I think has had a crush on me since last year:P She's a year younger than me. I'm not thinking about dating her, Jo's awesome, it's just funny sometimes.
At least you have a girl who has a crush on you. I went all 4 years and not a one showed up with a single inclination of having a crush on me...
Well, that's not completely true... But I'd rather not tell exactly what I mean by that.
Here's my classes:
First Block: Data and Measurement (Meh) 8)
Second Block: U.S.Civil War/Am Rev (I'm a history buff) ;)
Third Block: Visual Art2 (YAY!!!!) ;D
Fourth Block: Arts and Humanities (This teacher makes me sing in class) :(
Overall, my classes are okay.

What?? But that's half the fun! Wandering in in the middle of class in a daze.
I started school yesterday we had a year asembly and we got a great long talk. "You are the top intellectual 15% of your country, we expect the best from you" ramble on...
My Art teacher is the best, she's just awesome, we were doing reflections today and she kept talking to me about all the glass that she salvaged (thrown out by the Science labs) and telling me how it looked like doll's house furniture. I spent half the lesson pretending a glass jar was a pair of binoculars, what fun.

Well...I guess you're right. I believe I got lost on my first day at my new school while looking for the office where you go when you have schedule issues. Seriously, I was going in circles, and it took me, like, ten minutes to find it! So yeah, that was kind of fun. :P
At first, it's like a MAZE, I tell you!
Ah.. How glad I am that we know longer have to listen to the bizarre speeches our headmaster gave us. "This is the best school in Yorkshire... Nay, Britain! You are representing a school, not of buildings, or technology... but people. People who work hard! Very hard for you! We expect nothing but good work from you. This is... a... great... school." *Twists head round to reveal that he has a face no matter which way up his head is. Interesting times. Though the new headmaster 'aint much better. "Now, what does excellence mean to you? Excellence for all..."
They've all got more hot air coming out of their mouths than out of their butts.
indeed, we get new speeches now we're in 6th form "You are ambassadors for the school! behave well, and the community of the town will treat you well! Be nice, and when we ask to build new buildings, the people will say "Oh, those grammar school kids are so well behaved, yes, build build build!"" Odd indeed...
I'm doing pretty good in school as of right now, only hard class I got is geometry, which isn't really that hard, in my book, I love my geometry teacher, he's so freaking funny, and yes, I don't have mr gusler this year! A teacher that no one likes because he yells at you for no reason and tends to make fun of you, and my friend chewy's appendicts burst so yeah, school's kinda boring without him, but none the less, its still good, so far, my class's are easy, I have:
CAD
US history
Lit cafe(a class where you read books)
Health(blah)
Gym(Awesome and painfull, I almost broke my leg twice in that class lol)
A.E.(study class)
Geometry
Nova net(online class which is boring)
As of right now, I quite like my classes. That'll probably change when I get astronomical amounts of homework later on in the year because I'm taking classes that require bunches of work, but whatever. At least it's much better than that other school I went to. :D

speaking of the other school you usedto go to mags, mrs ross tryied to make me take english 2 again on Novanet when I already passed it.
Our English teacher said one of the most realistic things ever. Here it is paraphrased:
QuoteNone of you will ever be president. You aren't rich, east coast, land owners.
That's ok though, I mean, who really wants to be president nowdays anyway?
surely not me, too much work and all that, anywho, geometry is probably about the only hard class I have this year.

To me, being President isn't everything. But that could be because of my disinterest of politics. So in my case, you're right, there. :P
Why would I want to be president when I could sit here and complain in the typically English way without actually offering any solutions or ideas? Is it me, or are the people who want to get in power always the power crazed maniacs with themselves in mind? Maybe we should elect people who don't want to get in power but care about other people. I'm sure it would work. "Hey you, random guy!"
"Ummm... Yeah?"
"Do you want to be our leader?"
"What? No I guess..."
"Great, welcome aboard! Now should we go to war or not?"
"Ummmm..."
of course, I have no need for power. Davros knows my opinion all to well...
I'd be a terrible president. XD I'd doodle during political meetings...
Er, well, school this year is interesting, to say the least. We're getting a cupachino machine in the library, as well as couches. Oh, and my Home Ec. (Personal Family & Development) teacher is like... four foot nine. So she stands on people's desks to get our attention.
Spirit week is coming early, and there's no cosplay day this year (;___;)... but there's Hawaiian day, Crazy Accessory Day, 80's day, UT vs. AM day, and spirit day. My friend is going as Link for all the days. It's going to be awesome.
oh, and in history, I actually payed attention and got a question right, wOOt, beware my greatness. the only class Im strugling in is Auto CAD, didn't seem to hard at first, but that one thing we're doing, not sure what it is, but its freaking hard, Im not even gonna lie, we started on it last week, and Im still working on it... lol, I just got it done, but now we're suppose to put dimensions and stuff in it, oh yeah, and I got like 4 A's in arow in Geometry, and I thought that class was gonna be hard. psh.

You think it's easy now? Just wait until you get into proofs. (http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n71/MagmarFire/linktwisted.gif)
Nah, I found proofs fun after a while. Even tried to do some on my free time. ;)
the only thing I do not get is nodes and networks, total confusion, I get everything else though.
Networks are easy. You just need to figure out the paths in the networks and put them into figures of lines and endpoints. Then count the paths leading to all the nodes; when there are more than two odd nodes, the network is intraversable.
So far everything is great here, made a couple new friends, went to a few pep rallys, the only thing is Geometry, it can go from being fun to hard and back at any time.
I forgot how annoying getting a bus and train combination to school is. The bus was late (damn public transport!) so when it got to Station road we had to RUN for the train, we only just made it and I nearly got trapped in the automatic train doors. I spend around two hours travelling to/from school a day, it's such a drag.
I smashed a glass in art while we were taking photos and drawing our faces in baubles but apart from that it's been good.

Do you ride the train daily? Over here in the states only urban areas have subways, so I've only riden a train a couple times when I was young.
Yeah I ride the train twice every day but it's not the subway, it's aboveground.

^That's the train I get (well not that exact one but that model)
I don't live in a very urban area. Mainly cows.
Yay! Upon my regular 8 class day. I'm taking an individual study of Law.
Augh, school is draining my free time. It's actually quite lame, only because we have more periods, but less time. I mean, I can't do anything in Chemistry; we always run out of time. We have to go home, read the experiment, write down everything that's supposed to happen, and then rush on the project in class.
Not to mention I have no free time to draw or work on anything. All I can do is dance to The Melancholy of Haruhi's ending. >:
Ah nothing like the dancing of the "Save our world by Overloading it with fun Suzumiya Haruhi Brigade" to calm one down, I love that thing!
Anyway on Friday we were all driven insane by the CCF's drumming and marching. I mean seriously what school needs a combined cadet force. They're all idiots who just because they get huge black boots and a camouflage uniform think they own the place. They go on all the time about how they get to shoot stuff, pfft who wants to?
