I went to Realmscon 2007 today. :3 It was amazing. No one knew who I was, though, and it was very difficult to talk, as my voice was muffled a bit... and I don't talk very legibly, either.
I was expecting the cosplayers to be similar quality as last year... felt hair inuyasha, etc. And, well, most of them were. Except for that Klingon... he won last year, too.
But I think the saddest thing was... I was stuck between a very well made KHII group (Sora, Riku, Kairi) and a nine foot tall Kon. Who squeaked. They were amazing cosplays... and lots of people love Kon and the KHII group.
So, of course, they completely ignored my existence. u_u I got a huge applause when they announced my name, though. o_O it was weird.
Oh, and my friends went as Link and Ritsuka.
Ritsuka = adorable, abused uke
Link = well, Link.
So, of course, rabid fangirls chased them. My friend, Link was going to go play Guitar Hero II... when L and her little sisters showed up.
They love Link.
So, of course, they ran after her, who was literally screaming as she ran away and up three more escalators. I chased her, too, warning her that "if all else fails, use fire!"
The three little girls got her on the last escalator, when they all glomped her at once. Ritsuka came, wondering if she were alright (being one of the most despised enemies, I don't have that problem. (I went as a Wizzrobe, by the way.))... when the three girls attacked her, too. Then Youji and Natsuo asked for a picture, and Link was attacked by another guy with a shirt that said "Hyrulian Milk... it does a body good."
I stood back and watched. >: I didn't get hugged, but I did get a few pictures taken... like, three? no one liked me as much as the nine foot stuffed animal that squeaks.
Oh, and I thought I would win most original in the cosplay contest; I mean, no one else went as something as unique as a Wizzrobe. But... I lost. To a box... of pocky. She literally cut out a hole in the top and bottom of a box and painted pocky on it. o_o I mean, it was creative, but... it... wasn't that great.
And I played Super Smash Brothers Melee at the game room, and DDR... though we both sort of died in DDR, me... being a Wizzrobe and my competitor being epileptic. I won thrice in SSBM, though. Young Link. ;D ... unfortunately, I couldn't add a name, so my name was "YAOI" in the tourney... heheh... :3;
I'll have some pics of my costume up sometime soon... I finally finished it, but no one took pictures of me, so...
I envy you in so many ways right now.
Man people like you always have the most fun.... but the wizzrobe idea was pretty cool.
Well, it was fun. ^^;
Kon and I kept having squeak fights. He would squeak, I would squeak... :D
Ah, I was going to ask you how it was! It sure sounds like it was fun, for the most part! I'm sorry to hear you didn't win anything, because personally, I think being a Wizzrobe was a very unique idea. I've never heard of anyone doing that before, so I'm surprised you didn't win something for originality. Well, I'm sure your costume was great, anyways! And I'm glad you had fun!
I don't suppose you could post a picture of you in the costume?
...Or maybe you already did somewhere else, and I missed it?
Well, I have a few WIP shots:

Crappy blurry quality because the person sucks at photography. The mask was finished, the robes weren't dyed, and the hood wasn't yellow yet. The big pink bandana was to show LOL I WORK HERE. Not sure why, but.... well.
Sounds fun, I wish my last days of summer were more fun like your's.
Yeah, it's always good to have something to look forward to before "meh" events (e.g. school). ;)

I can only imagine.... ;) Well anyway nice costume.
It was fun, but he squeaked when he walked. o_o That got annoying quickly.
I got some more shots of my costume. You can see my skin, because we couldn't synch up the hood. /:

Wow, that's really cool! Very nicely done, I think. You should be proud of yourself, you did a very good job.
Save the costume and use it for a later convention. You're bound to win EVENTUALLY.
Wow, your costume was great!
I'm glad you had fun!
Actually, I was planning to... but I can't stand the thought of being one crappy costume for like... six days. 8D; so I'm going as two costumes to the next ones...
Well, actually, I just made a random Shadow Link hat & tunic. But still.
