if I made a loz game Link would talk, there would be a Link jr in the end and you would be able to jump at will.
I would make a strategic RPG. It would not have Link or Princess Zelda in it. Of course, it would be set in the land of Hyrule (and probably Holodrum and Labrynna as well), but I would just throw in original characters. And there would be no monster trying to take over Hyrule. Instead, it would be Hyrule trying to take over Holodrum.
If I made a Zelda game, I would try to introduce some elements not added in previous Zelda games. More transformations, for instance. They can open up more puzzle opportunities.

I can't really think of any more transformations they can use. They have already made everything I can think of. So far, we have been a deku, zora, goron, insanly powerful guy, bunny, and a wolf. Maybe you have some idais?
Anyway, I would have the music still play at night or at least have diffrent music. It isn't as crutial, but I would like it. Its just anniying that at night everything is silent.

Er, what? You invited people to tell everyone what they would do if they made a Zelda game, so what did they do wrong?

The Oracle games had rings that allowed Link to transform into a Moblin, a Like-like, and an Octorok; however, he wasn't able to do anything but walk around in those forms. I would like to see him be able to do that again, but this time be able to attack.

Just until Gamefreak gets home. Then you're gone for good.
Sorry to stray off topic, but I did send Gamefreak an e-mail letting him know of the situation, so he may be back sooner than you think.

Someone forgot to take thier anti-depressents. Seriously, hes been naging at everyone on about 3 diffrent topics and I can't even count how many times he has been baned in the last 2 hours.
And I forgot about the rings in the Oracles. I think they should have a game that revolves around manipulating time. And I mean in a more controlable way than in OOT and MM. You could speed up, slow down, or freeze time (it would be kinda like Prince of Persia) and would make some cool puzzles.
Whoops. Sorry about this. I had to play at a football game.
Good thing I didn't follow through on my promise to stay away for the weekend.
I can think of quite a few more transformations. There are a whole lot more races and species. How about being a Zuna or Keaton? Imagine getting to be a Rito (or getting an item that allows flying)? There are, for as far as I know, hardly any games that truly incorporate fyling in a good way and it could be a nice main gameplay element. Also, now that time has been done on multiple occasions, I think it's time for a space related TLOZ. You know, with a door in the ceiling of your own house that you can't reach until you get item X and thus get to a new location. And with at least one dungeon like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relativity_%28M._C._Escher%29).
Furthermore, I think I already once mentioned I'd love to see a dream-waking world theme (Nice chance for Dethl to return). I have a few ideas for how that could work, making dungeons for once actually (a believable) part of the game.
And I'm still cheering for a Hanging Gardens of Babylon-like dungeon.
If I made a Zelda game... it would be rubbish because a good game requires a large number of people to make with a lot of skill and patience. ;) As for ideas, I think a game in which Link is transformed into a Moblin and has to sneak around a dungeon, conversing with and convincing other monsters that he was one of them to reach the end of a dungeon.
*drools at LadyNintendo's ideas*
Please, go out with me.
Ahem. ;)
Anywho! Yes, dungeons that break the laws of common sense and science. I loved flipping the Stone Tower upside down and I loved the twisted hallways in the Forest Temple back in OoT. Now they just need to combine the two and add more gravity defying tricks.
And hey, Davros, everyone here could team up and help create a Zelda game. ;D
Of course, I'd still like to make my strategic RPG, but I can work on both ideas at the same time.
That would suck for him, seeing as how he can't speak his own language, let alone Moblin. :P

Well there's: http://www.zfgc.com/index.php?board=173.0 (http://www.zfgc.com/index.php?board=173.0)
Heh.
I have way too many ideas to make a good game, so I need to work with other people.
I would like to make something like this, the over world is like an RTS, until two opposing army clash, then you take direct control of Link and hack and slash your way through the battlefield, while your allied soldiers fight alongside! I know it's kinda complicated, but I think it's sounds cool.
I'd love to make a LoZ game of my own!!! :D
let's do it
I'd like to add in a feature like the Tingle Tuner in Wind Waker, only with a Nintendo DS and not a GameBoy Advance, and with a different character. It could be used all over the game, and although it isn't needed to defeat the game, it can bring some cool bonuses. Imagine using the touch screen on the DS to control a character that helps Link through the game! A bit of a novelty, sure, but still fun!
Hmm... it appears Shikamaru Nara has edited my post. I know something at the beginning was removed, although I can't for the life of me remember what exactly I said. Was it offensive or something? Because if it was, I sincerely apologize. I had no offensive intentions behind it, whatever I said.
If I made a Zelda game... I'd bring the Rito back (they are gorgeous creatures; I can't stand that they're in just one game) and give the people more... intricate outfits. And at least one person would have a top hat or cat ears. Okay, not really.
But, I would try to keep the games the same, but my stuff would probably look more like Ookami, I love flowing art about 10 times more than stiff, rigor mortis art. >: Maybe incorporate a more artistic item than music; I love both of them, after all.
Oh, and probably give Zelda a larger role, as she doesn't really... show up in a lot.

As long as you don't go the way of the CD-I games that's fine with me. ;)
Actually, that's part of the charm of Zelda. You know, she's a statement and a muse, and that's all she should be.
What I cannot stand these days is the "subtle" message that if you don't fight in the front lines or openly guide the troops to battle, you are a nobody. Where's the glory of those staying behind because they have other things to take care off? I don't think your value depends on how long you have the spotlight aimed at you. Zelda does what she has to do off screen, behind the stage. A play needs more people than just the actors, but it is only the actors who get the honour. When's the last time you have seen a compliment towards the people who create the costumes, the decor, who clean up the place, who take care of the lights and so on?
And also, Zelda is a muse, and one thing muses should never do is "lower" themselves by openly showing they are just mortals like any other. It mercilessly destroys their aura (=character).
No, Zelda should get a small bigger role. She should help in the final battle, like in TWW.
Also, note, I am speaking in the point of view of a Gamecube player, not a Wii player.
Hyrule should be big. Very big. Far bigger than it's ever been before. In the north, like someone suggested before me in a different manner, a giant glacier-filled mountain should have a river of snow that would slowly melt in a waterfall fashion into a small pond, and then it will fall again into a very big lake, and the resulting river should go all the way to the sea. Hryule Castle Town should be on the shore of the sea and at the mouth of the river, providing a trade route and a largely populated city. Hyrule Castle should be on a very large hill just a little bit north of the town, and it should be fortified more than ever. On an island a little bit to the east of the Town, sit in a place where it won't block shipping, should be the cemetary.
A desert that takes up a good part of the country should be on the west and block all communication with it's neighbor. It should be lifeless, without any monsters, and have no annoying sandstorms. There should, however, be several ancient ruins set in an Egyptian and Greek/Roman style, like in TP. I would also like to see a large platuea (?spelling) like the ones in Australia, that looks beautiful at day and terrifying at night. Instead of having mountains block the border, the desert will just go on and on, and you'll eventually come across a large ancient wall that blocks you from going any further. The east should be filled with great forests that have unique vegetation. I have nothing much to say on this, other than a tiny village being located in the center. No Lost Woods, either. If so, give it a different name, Lost Woods is overused. And the border should be marked by a giant canyon, preventing you from going outside the nation and ending the craze of using mountains to block borders.
The middle, however, should be much more complicated. The area near Hyrule Castle and Town should be the typical plains, and have several farms for a food source. This should only be a small, southwestern-most portion of it. The rest should be mostly swampy and Andes-mountain terrains. The Swamps should have many types of monsters, and they should be extremely difficult to defeat, too. Only by going through them can you find the Andes-mountain terrain, shich is basically just like how it is in real life. Death mountain should be the tallest of them all, and should be filled with monsters, lava flows, and falling rocks. The mountain's top should be set just above a large smokey cloud like in OOT.
I don't know why, but I would alos like to see a village like one from China 500 years ago, but I don't know where to fit that in.
Onto species. The Zoras should have three species: the monster Zoras, which attack those unfortunate to wander through the swamps; the sea Zoras, which live in a giant underwater city set inside of a giant and colorful coral reef, with many holes in it so that you won't have trouble getting in like it MM, which had only two entrances; and Lake Zoras, which reside in the giant waterfall area from earlier and spend most of their time fishing. All three should have a King, and the monster Zora king should be a boss inside of a dungeon. The other two are allies, but don't do anything really.
The Goron should reside in the mountains. One tribe lives in the glacier mountains, and worship a god that resides in the large tower at the mountain's top, like in MM, but the god is actually a boss, and the tower a dungeon. The other tribe should live in the Andes-mountain area, where they live in an Incan-style city and have their emperor live in a palace of gold. These Gorons should be terrified by a giant, lava-monster residing in Death Mountain's summit, which, too, is a dungeon.
The Dekus should live in the Swamps. Nothing too notable about them. They should live in a large, underground cave, that is illuminated by a torch that shines in just the right position to spread across the entire cave.
The Humans should reside solely in the Castle and Town area, not going any further, but they should have the largest population of the entire races. The town should have people from other races, however, and thus be crowded and uncomfortable.
The forests should be inhabitated by Hylians, which have become nearly extinct and lost their power, hiding in a forest to escape persecution from the other races, which grew tired of their dominance.
Finally, we'll bring back the Skulkids. They, however, should be an evil race that symbolize destruction where-ever they might be seen. All those that look in the eyes of a Skullkid should be cursed, and have their lives filled with ten years of torture, both physically and mentally, and then die exactly ten years from the moment they see their eyes. There shouldn't be many Skullkids, no more than 30 in the entire game, and should be more difficult than the average monster to defeat. They should also use a dark form of spirit magic that draws dead spirits and destroys the life around them. A legend that says that there was once a ruler of these horrid species existed at a time, and caused destruction, plague, and death everywhere in Hyrule and erased half of the population, though a great hero once defeated him. The hero's destiny thereafter, however, would remain unknown. Link will be his descendant.
Nothing special about dungeons. I, too, would like a Relativity. The main room should be like the painting, but the rest should be just regular rooms. The stairs are ways of getting from floor to floor. One under the ocean, one in Death Mountain's crater, one in the galcier's tower, one in the swamps, two in the forests, and two in the desert. A grand total of eight. Then a ninth one should be Hyrule Castle, except instead, the inside should be a demented and dead forest, cursed by the Skullkids.
The plot begins in the forests, where a Skullkid is one day seen. Link sets out to find it, and gets cursed into a strange and tiny creature with a skull face. Link is eventually healed, though, before the second dungeon, but after the first, and by the Great Fairy (only one). After the second dungeon, the Hylian elder will reveal Link's heritage and destiny, and he sets out across Hyrule. The plot slowly develops to reveal that a strange shadow (Ganon, of course) is controlling the Skullkids to destroy the "worthless people among the living" and he secretly resides in the castle, sending orders as if he was the King. Zelda should be in hiding in the desert. In order, you go from forest, to swamp, Death Mountain, Castle Town, ocean, lake (in north), glacier, and desert. In the desert, in the 8th dungeon's end, a giant wall should reveal the true histroy of Hyrule, like the Hylian's near extinction and the truth of the Skullkids (they aren't evil, but possessed by Ganon). Link then goes into the castle accompanied by Zelda, and together they defeat Ganon.
The history of Hyrule should be revealed like this: Many years ago, a great hero (TP Link) defeated evils that plagued the land (Ganon/Zant/Twilight). This great hero became one of the most selebrated people in our nation's history. One day, however, fierce invaders from the west arrived. These creatures, who made settlements in the deserts, destroyed towns and villages, pushing Hyrule to the verge of destruction. These creatures are now known as the Skullkids. The Skullkids we led by a great and powerful leader, who is rumored to have killed 100 of Hyrule's best soldiers with ease. The great hero took action and fought the Skullkids and their leader. Though the Skullkid leader was defeated, the great hero, too, would die from the battle, and was buried in the great graveyeard of Hyrule, his grave the largest and most elegant. At the cost of much destruction and life, Hyrule had been saved, and the Skullkids were defeated. They abandoned their settlements and hid themselves from the rest of the world.
Although peace followed for many years, Hyrule was eventually sent into revolution, with the races under Hylian rule wanting equal status, which they had never yet gotten outside their own lands. Hyrule was defeated by these rebels, and was brought under the rule of the Hylian's just and right twin race: the Humans. Unlike Hylians, however, the Humans had no pointed ears of which to hear the gods, no magical abilities, and were knew to the political scene. The Hylians disappeared into the forests, never to be scene again, apparently gone extinct. Hyrule would see peace for the rest of its history and never fought anohter war again. Of course however, parts of it are actually untrue. The Skullkids' leader was actually Ganon, who attempted to reincarnate into a Skullkid to be able to conquer Hyrule. He uses his dark abilities to take control of the Skullkids, which leads to the war. Ganon gets ressurected after dying to Link again by the Skullkids about a year before the game begins, and, unknown to the citizens of Hyrule, took the form of the King, who he killed, and is slowly beginning to bring Hyrule under his complete control and eliminate the happy and loving races he despises, and put the world at a dark and sinister mercy to the actually innocent Skullkids.
I have no special plans for items right now, but I do want to think of a very unique one.
Mhm.
Well you go ahead and make that.
Also, OoT states the Skullkids are Kokiri that got lost in the Lost Woods.
The Lost Woods are also not overused, they've been in what, three games? And they are a trademark.
When you say true origin are you saying Link is human?
Needs more Gerudo.
And finally, if you are trying to make someone like your idea, you probably shouldn't use "should," but could.
OOT NEVER stated that. At least, I am assuming you are refering to Navi's quote. If so, pay attention to the end of her quote. There's a big, bad "?" at the end, meaning she doesn't know for sure. I also don't remember her mentioning the Kokiri specifically.
Since whocares was prepared to go through all the trouble of writing his script, I guess I can't stay behind.
I am aware most of what I'm about to write will sound silly, but it really isn't more silly than a talking hat or changing into a pink bunny.
Using the Space-theme, I have an excuse to create a world that doesn't have to be anything like Hyrule. Okay, the game starts in regular Hyrule, with a map that resembles the map from a random other TLOZ in nearly every way. Link is a squire working at Hyrule Castle. The knight he's serving is his aunt (try to see her as a mix between Link's uncle in ALTTP and Impa qua role) and he lives with her in a village located not too far from Hyrule Town. Coincidentally, the queen of Hyrule (yes, Zelda is going to get two parents this time) also comes from that village and as such, Link's aunt is part of her personal guard and best friend. Because of this, Link and Zelda are good friends, although some people of the court don't seem all that happy they are.
The game starts with Link playing a game with a few other squires in Hyrule Castle. The game is only meant as an introduction to the controls and possibly a way to obtain the first item. Afterwards, he'll end up in a little chat with his friends. It is mentioned that the queen is from the same village as Link and his aunt and that she and the king immediately fell in love with each other the day they met. It is also revealed that there was a lot of opposition from the majority of the court, because she wasn't royalty but that, for reasons unknown, all the opposition suddenly was gone. The two married, and Princess Zelda was born from this marriage nearly 16 or 18 (I don't care) ago. Link is then called by his aunt for training (she's been training him ever since his parents died), which of course, is an introduction course to fighting. After this, she'll send Link back to the village to bring the people some stuff from town. Because it's late, Link doesn't have to return until the next morning and his aunt will stay at the castle. He's "given" a sword and shield to protect himself in case anything goes wrong. Link will only have to fend off one "major" attack on his way (a reference to the trouble to come). Link is welcomed back in the village and the people take what is theirs from the cart.
Link and the rest of the village then go to sleep. In the middle of the night however, Link is awakened by a scream coming from outside. Opening the door to see what's going on reveals that almost all the ground in the village is "gone". Except for the houses/stables there's nothing but a big black hole. Well, not entirely. there are also patches of land (could be grass, desert, rock etc.) or water floating around randomly. Point is to jump your way across these patches to reach the centre of the village which is covered in a mysterious fog. The water patches makes it a bit trickier to navigate your way because jumping on them means instant death Zelda-style (jumping requires solid ground, and since the water patches don't have that....) and requires you to try the puzzle over again. Anyway, reaching the center, Link is instantly transported to the first dungeon. I don't have any specific design ideas for this dungeon. A possibility is that pieces of the missing ground of the village are floating around and that Link has the Slingshot or some other long range weapon which he needs to use to hit certain objects (be it eye-symbols, orbs or whatever, I don't care) which would cause a piece of land to return to its original position. To keep the feel of a dungeon, the earlier mentioned fog could serve as "walls". One can see the shape of the patch through the fog, but not objects (like enemies and treasure chests). Link can travel freely through the fog, but leaving a certain area allows the enemies (who won't follow) to recover or respawn. This makes the boss fights a tad trickier as leaving the area in the middle of the fight causes them to return to full health. Since this is just the first dungeon, I don't think this is going to be any problem as its subboss and boss are always crumbs of cake.
Anyway, upon completing the first dungeon, Link hears a voice from out of nowhere (cheesy as it sounds, this is regular TLOZ stuff) who gives him some cryptic message after which he is transported back to the village, which now has returned to normal (the fog still is present in the village's centre so the first dungeon stays accesible). The villagers thank Link and ask him to go report what happened to the Hylian Royal family. He has to go back anyway, so he accepts. This is where the story truly starts.
While Hyrule Field is mainly okay, the rest of Hyrule is not. Lots of locations either are twisted or replaced and it's up to Link to repair Hyrule. Some details:
Hyrule Castle and town are inaccesible due to these changes and it isn't after dungeon nr. 3 (?) that Castle Town can be accessed. By this time however, Hyrule Castle and its inhabitants have been replaced by a huge other building (lair of the main villain/final dungeon etc.). Obviously, this one can't be accessed until the end of the game.
No sidekicks a la Navi. Yes Kaepora Gaebora-like help (including Link's aunt). For enemy info, we go back to figurines, although I'd prefer not to have to take pictures again (a true nightmare in some cases).
Individual models for everyone, regardless of race. Clear female and male models. Child models that aren't just smaller adult models. And just an overall individuality of the Indigo-Go and Wind Waker level.
Return of all hook items: Hookshot/Longshot, (Double) Clawshot, Grappling Hook and Switch hook. I'd also like to see the possibilities of the Grappling Hook slightly mor focused on. For instance, if it's attached to something and you don't need to go straight, but rather swing to the left or right, you don't need to stop in the middle of your swing to change directions anymore. Instead, you hold on to the rope and make Link run to the edge in the opposite direction of where you need to go, so that you immediately go in the right direction. Link will automatically let go of the rope when necessary in this case.
I had the following dungeons in mind:
A water dungeon (I know you all love these dungeons), with the water not necessarily listening to what gravity tells it to do. I can imagine Link having to swim in water that's behaving like the walls or the ceiling are the floor and flowing through the rooms as if the dungeon would be standing on its side.
A metal dungeon. I loved the goron mines' magnetism part and think they could have done a lot more with it. How about puzzles involving changing the magnetic fields?
A maze dungeon. Do I need to explain more?
A morphing dungeon. Depending from which door you enter, some rooms become different. Others can be manipulated to change by hitting switches.
A dungeon like the one I explained in my first post.
I'm planning on making a history of the Skullkids, actualy, as it's only hinted they are transformed children. The Lost Woods have been in 5 games, exclduing TWW, MM, and LA. Actually, Link is Hylian, and a descendant of TP Link. I really would like to put in Gerudo, but TP completely erased the Gerudo Desert (actually, they just never showed the area it's in), so that would be a little too difficult. Mabye they cna be pirates again?
Also, LN, I apologize, as I do not have the time to read your well-written game-theory right now, much to my disgrace.
It would be awesome to have them be pirates again.
Don't worry, Whocares. I wasn't 100% finished and you aren't obliged to read it (now/at all). :) Just how can you call it well-written if you haven't read it? ;)
Races:
I was thinking of Zora Domain being replaced by ocean (all due to space going bananas). Hyrule's Zora Domain is now located where this ocean part ought to be. Living in this ocean area are two Zora type groups: River and Ocean Zoras. These groups have been at fragile peace for a while now, but now they accuse each other of the sudden teleportation of their home to a place unknown to them and the disappearance of the mermaids (I want clarity on them. I think they'd do well as a fairy subspecies), who are the protectors of the temple and waters surrounding it (including their cities). The Ocean Zoras have a King and the River Zoras an anarchy (which works for small groups) which relies on the opinion of the entire group to do things. To prevent a war and to get back Hyrule's Zora Domain, Link has to enter the temple and rescue the mermaids. Upon saving them, Link is given some more info on what's going on and this part of Hyrule is restored back to normal. Hyrule's Zora Domain therefor doesn't play a role in the main story (maybe for some sidequests) and those Zoras won't treat Link as a hero. However, the typical fog teleporter is still there to teleport you to the ocean part that is now back in the ocean. Those Zoras are now a lot friendlier to both Link and each other. Oh, and before I forget, "currents" are the excuse to not swim beyond the area.
Miniblins (they're so awesome) live in the forest (whether these are the Lost Woods isn't important). Like everything, the forest isn't what it should be. It's not replaced, but twisted. All flora is now twisted in all kinds of shapes. The Miniblin village is like the LightFoot village in StarFox Adventures. While the Miniblins aren't hostile to Link, they don't like his quest to return Hyrule to its original state, as they kinda like the way the forest is now. They reason though, that if he actually manages to find his way through the temple (dungeon, the maze one) and survive it, he's a true hero and his quest is worthy of their support. Throughout the dungeon, the miniblin can be seen everywhere, because they know the way around very well. Usually, they'll just sit/stand/lie etc and watch Link find his way/fight monsters. Sometimes they'll point him into a certain direction, but it is hardly ever trustworthy, causing them to laugh if Link falls into a trap or something after actually following their directions. When Link finally reaches the final chamber, it at first seems like getting the main prize doesn't require fighting a main boss, but then a whole lot of Miniblin enter the room. They stand in a circle in the room (which is round btw) and start chanting, holding their arms into the air in order to summon the main boss (the hero needs to prove himself after all ;)). As soon as it arrives, the Miniblins run to the safety of the higher parts of the wall and watch the fight from up there. When Link defeats the monster, they'll come down, congratulating him and giving him the item he was looking for. The forest then returns to normal and Link can leave the dungeon.
Link's village mostly has Human inhabitants, but also some Hylians. Link is Hylian and Link's aunt is neither (she turns out to be only a halfsister to Link's father. Her mother was a Sheikah, and so is she). As for the queen, she's Hylian and the reason she was allowed to marry the king is because a renowned seer said that the royal family and the rest of Hyrule only would survive if the two married, but also that the survival would be at the cost of her life. The court therefor accepted the marriage, but no one ever told the queen because A. they were afraid she'd refuse, B. they didn't really feel good about themselves for doing things like this and C. because the king wanted her to be able to enjoy the time they had left together/she had left. As the plot unfolds, it turns out that the queen was told this prophecy by the seer not long after the court heard about it and that she accepted that fate. The only one she ever told she knew was Link's aunt, who at first was enraged, but accepted things at the request of the queen. Anyway, the prophecy has two points: one is that the queen actually sacrifices herself to protect Zelda, and the other is that because of her connection with Link's aunt, Link gets involved, who turns out to be the Legendary Hero appearing everytime Hyrule needs to be saved.
Hyrule Castle town is mainly populated with Hylians, but also has a fair share (about 2/5th) of representatives from other races.
In my Zelda game, I would make it so you could play as any character you want. Even a villain. But there would be a different storyline if you played as a villain or another character besides Link or Zelda.
...LadyNintendo?
... I love you and your ideas. D: I think they need a proper male/female/child/individual model for each race, as well.
Mm, I can't think of new items. I'd love to give the wolfos some more depth, though... like, have a pack of wolfos, (anthromorphic, as they were in Ocarina and MM) but have a sentry.
I'd love if they had the hunting techniques that people say raptors had; distract the prey, lure it away from the herd, and attack it from three or four sides, digging into the ribs and other tender spots. They'd still walk on their knuckles and move as they did in Ocarina; surveying prey and the like.
But instead of simple walking on four legs, they could walk small distances on their hind legs. For example, to be able to walk from one area to a gate, and lock it.
Now, I'm not trying to make them intelligent to the point it would rival Link's... but smarter than your average enemy.
It makes me want to make a scenario involving Lon Lon Ranch... being attacked by a pack of Wolfos. They locked the gate, so you can't get in... by normal means. You can't set it on fire, you can't bomb it... but you can jump over it with Epona. :3 But the Wolfos frighten Epona, so she bucks you off and during the entire "battle," she is unable to be used... well, without her bucking you off.
<3
Wolves = bestestest aminals evur
That would be so sweet, Fisk.
Maybe theres a comical part, where you go inside the house, and find Malon confronting a Wolfos dressed as her Grandmother.
Oh, and about my Hyrule Castle Town, I want it to be divided into several small districts usually about a road or small block long.
Like Ba Sing Se in the Avatar and the Seireitei in Bleach, I want these districts to be divided: those closer to the Castle are law promoting and good citizens, along with at least middle-class, and those farther away live in crowded, run-down houses and have a large number of thieves. Be careful, Link, as these thieves won't be against attacking you. They're just like everyday monsters, but they don't die, instead they run away. They do drop items, however.
The port district acts as a seperate town with its own unique economy. It is just as law abiding as the castle area, despite being about split between the slums and the royals. You can also find several shops here, considering how it is the main part of the town foreginers go to.
The city is protected by a giant wall. It is very thick. Need I say any more?
Also, it should be noted that there are several shops in the slum districts, but jsut about every item in any of them are stolen.
Each district should have its own unique name.
*coughzfgccpcough*
We are doing a smiliar division kinda thing, between the rich and poor.
What? :-X
And that;s starting to get a little spammy, you know. I suggest you stop.
In it, I would have Link fight this huge army of Ganondorf's minions and Ganondorf himself, while fighting alongside an entire army of Hyrule soldiers, while taking back all the villages and communities that his armies have taken.
I would make this option where you could play a multiplayer fight against someone. What I mean is that you play as Link, and then you fight someone wirelessly or multiplayer with more controllers and using all the items, upgrades, and hearts you have. I think they had something like that in 4 swords but with TP graphics it would be a lot better. And you could eventually unlock other people like Zelda or Ganondorf. Hope you guys understand what I mean cuz it's kinda hard to describe online.
Nah, I see what you mean. Someone already brought up the possiblity of head-to-head swordplay on the Wii in the future, so your idea may very well become reality. :D
If I were to make a legend of zelda game, I would make all the characters talk, and I would make it to where they would insult each other just like in the abridged series, I would make the game super funny XD
I would have the ability to play as one of the villains (like Vaati!), all the characters would talk (or would talk like Midna and make more sounds), and bring all the races in Hyrule together for the final fight against whoever (I really like how the people helped you at the end of TP for the boss key). And have the kargarocs look like they did in WW...
If I was to make a Zelda game then It would be set to where all of the lands would be in one world and you could go to any of them freely. But the main point is that the countrys would be warring and instead of link you would be a soldior that you designed and would choose a country to support and fight for. You could also choose thing like your race and what you specialized in ex.assasination.

Damn those people. They denied me the epic battle I was expecting and wanting.
I love the battles too, but I like how they actually did something instead of 'planning' everything...
Haven't you ever played Sword of Mana? NPCs are NEVER supposed to help. They're supposed to get in your way and make you earn your EXP.
Nah, I much rather have NPCs with good AI, and therefore actually do something useful. But still, they didn't have to steal my kills. :'(
Another idea I thought up with my friend in an IM (before TP came out) was that they would have a Zelda game that was either 3-D or virtual reality. That would be sweet!

3-D? You mean, like, holographic?
Where you wear like those special glasses and it jumps out at you?

Don't call them special; they preferred to be called "little glasses."
Shame on you, Shika.
How about virtual-reality Zelda?
That was just said... but I do in fact like the idea. o: I'd be so freaked out by Wallmasters, man.... XD
0.0
Wow, Wallmasters would scare my pants off, which would in turn would scare everyone else. The same if stuff sprung out of the ground like Stalkids.
I think that going to a shadow temple in general would be rather disturbing.
Hmm, makes me think of .hack//... I think they tried to make a virtual reality thing of The World, but it was loaded with too many graphics or something and... would cause people to go into epileptic seizures.
think of the recalls.

Kind of. Holographic would be more like the game is coming out of the T.V. and into your living room. But it would be cooler if it was virtual reality and it was like you were actually
in Hyrule!
Scroll down to Episode 802. (http://kipachristhan.proboards76.com/index.cgi?board=tlobb&action=display&thread=1181259904) That would be one of the dungeons I would put in.
Oooh, me likes this topic.
I won't say too much in this, as I hope one day to be making my Zelda game creation into a reality and can't afford to have those Nintendo spies (I know you're there) stealing my ideas. But if you're going to be transforming into enemies, there are only two you need have: Stalfos and Dinolfos. One a slow but freaking powerful character that can take on the responsibility of items like the Iron Boots (something made of bones and heavy armor is not going to be floating any time soon) and the Power Bracelets. The other a fast lizard that can shoot fireballs from his mouth and perform quick dodges and attacks.
And as a secret unlockable transformation if you do a bunch of side quests, a Garo form which would PWN EVERYTHING.
And the overworld should be that of AoL, made 3-D.
That's all I have to say about that. ;D
I've always been atracted to the idea of a Zelda strategy game, my main influence is Age of Mythology.
Each race would have units based on their capabilities
(rolling gorons, flying dekus, electric field zora).
Each has their unique special units that could be considered as their "heroes". (Mikau, Darunia, Link Twinrova, Midna, etc)
Aside from the normal, race based units, a temple can be built to create monsters. Although every race has a unique set of creatures, not all the creatures are exclusive to one race. Also, you can create a units (but only one) based on a boss.
And also, you can cast curses or blessings deppending on the history of each race.
Take this race as an example:
Gorons--
Main unit: Goron
Military units: Rolling goron (can be upgraded to spiked rolling goron), Melee Goron, launching Goron(launches other units for an attack bonus.
Heroes: Darunia, Darmani, Gor Coron.
Monsters: Red Tektites, Dodongos, Fire Dancers, Lizalfos, Wizzrobe, Armos, Beamos.
Bosses: Dodongo, Volvagia, Fyrus, Goht.(Note that only one of these four can exist at a time, to create another boss, the current one must be destroyed
God Powers: Shortage-Drain the resources of a certain area, Hot spring- create a hot spring that regenerates any unit close to it.
I have lots of ideas, but I'm too lasy to put them in a single post.

Are you kidding? When I first got the OoT(my first zelda game ever) My uncle had already played it and got me to the grown up link part. And I though the Redeads were city guards and I went to talk to them. Next thing I know I have 30 rededs humping me to extinction...the nightmares.
ReDeads creeped me out so much, I couldn't sleep that night after they humped me to death. ;D Link to related comic. (http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u161/Miss_Hayls/DeadandLovinIt.jpg)
MOD EDIT: There's questionable language in that comic...although I do find it hilarious. :P
Hahahaha!
Best comic ever:P
As for me.. I don't know what I'd do.. I'd be scared of making Zelda look bad.. And I would piss my pants;o
I'm not the queen of videogame design (maybe it's because I've never taken a class). But HTML coding and stuff scares me half to death. ;D And I assume videogame design has alot to do with coding. But If I were to make a game with just my imagination, it might be a pretty good game. :)
Maybe if you were programming the game, you would need extensive knowledge of coding, but video game designers work on things like battle systems, magic systems, character design, etc. They should have sufficient programming skills, but I'm not sure how much that comes into play for the designers.
