Well, with two new Zelda games out, Twilight Princess and Phantom's Hourglass, I feel it's time for another discussion about the best Zelda games.
Unfortunately, however, the number of Zelda Games has increased over the years, and, rather than make a new poll for each game, I rather have one, big "Best Zelda Game" discussion. It'll be just like a poll, but you'll have to actually state your favorite game instead of simply clicking a button. And the best part about this is that, unlike polls, you can actually change your vote, and all you have to do is say the word.
As for me, I say Twilight Princess. The graphics were great. Hyrule was more explored. The characters were great. The dungeons, monsters, and items ruled. It was very original. It was fun. The Twilight Realm was awesome. All the bosses and mini-bosses were awesome. I won't go on anymore and state evry little thing about the game I like.

NEW - Your name will be listed next to the gme you have chosen. This way, whenever you change your vote, we know what you already voted for so we can take off a vote. Also, in case anyone wanted to know, they won't have to search through the entire topic.
I vote Majora's Mask.
No, I'm not going to tell you why.
I vote Ocarina of Time.
I vote Majora's Mask as well.
Oh, by the way, your vote reminds me of why you have a certain meme dedicated to you, Whocares. (http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/Commodore_Axilon/Forum%20Crap/linkwink.gif)

I'm quoting this because it perfectly reflects my feelings on my favorite Zelda game.
I'm placing my vote for Link to the Past.
I'm a classical enthusiast.
I'll have to say Ocarina of Time, just becuase it was so revolutionary to the series.
Wait, I thought Whocares' favorite(s) were the Oracles.
I'll have to go with Link to the Past. It was definitely the most epic, although it's usually ignored since it wasn't 3D. 8) I love that game, although the purple hair is questionable...anyways, I edited the votes for you Whocares.
For me it would have to be Link to the Past. Good game. Very good game. In fact, that's an understatement. It's a very, very good game. Generally I would say that this game is... Good.
Actually, JQ, I've begun to renew my interest in the 3D Zelda games. The Oracles were second, however, but TP put so much attention to detail and the minor things, along with everything major as well, and put in so many side quests and extras that the Oracles stould little chance. If TP never came out, however, the Oracles would definetly win.
Side-Quests? Extras? What are these newfangled things of which you speak?? Collect-everything-and-get-a-prize is hardly a real side-quest, in the opinion of quite a few people who stand out in the Zelda community. TP was far from perfect... Try to think for a minute how it could have been made BETTER.
I'm not voting, I mean, why choose if it is obvious? [hint]Majora'sMask[/hint]
TP or LttP...?
>_<

I'm quoting both these becuase I don't feel like listing my reasons when someone else already did.
It's a tie between Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening. Put me down for both. (Wind Waker being a close second.)
Majora's Mask was the best with story-telling. I was hooked on it, I love the timed overworld. Not to mention the lovely music; it's twisted in it's own ways. ^^ The NPCs were extremely well developed; I'd even go so far as to say the most developed in any Zelda game. The side-quests and the ability to fight bosses again... mmmm, delicious.
Link's Awakening... well, it's awesome! I love owls, dreams... just about everything in the game is perfect to me. XD The dungeons are perfectly challenging, and I personally like the photograph side-quest.
Can you put me down for both TP and LttP. I can't decide. They are equal.
I say Zelda ocarina of time.
My top 5
1.TP
2.OOT
3.MM
4.WW
5.FSA
Majora's Mask is full of win and awesome.
I concur.
Tarm Ruins from OoS was also win, but alas, my favorite place in Holodrum is not a Zelda game. :'(
Hmm, I wouldn't know if I told you...
Probably Twilight Princess. The graphics are amazing, and it has a great storyline and it's really fun.
I say Majora's Mask, the only thing it lacked (at least for me) was a greater number of dungeons, like... NE SE NW & SW giants, perhaps. But the story is great, the charachters are fantastic, it has good humor from time to time (like the prescence of ET's) and tha main villian just rocks (happens to be my favourite character of the whole series) and well... it's fine I guess...
Majora's Mask.
Not only did it develop its characters like no Zelda Game before it, it had an insane amount of Side Quests and NPC's, which I look forward to seeing in Zelda Games. Twilight Princess had a lot of NPC's at Castle Town, but they were mostly nameless, faceless, voiceless, roleless characters that wandered in circles. I wasn't to thrilled about that, or the weird clowns either :P
Majora's Mask
My favorites are in no particular order:
OoT
MM
TP
MC
WW
All for different reasons.
I vote OOT
I just love the music in it, and it brings back childhood memories playing the game ^^
i was told to write here, but the topics are so different, man! legend of zelda is my favorite but a link to the past is probally the best
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Both Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time have my vote. ;)
Wind Waker. Totally owning :D
It's a tie for me.
The original for one. It started what is now an international phenominon to gamers everywhere. And not to mention it was a pretty darn good game for it's time.
And OOT was just plain amazing.
i vote ocarina of time
this was a tough one between twilight princess and ocarina of time for me. they're both brilliant games and both have awesome characters and storylines, but twilight princess just doesn't have the same magic as ocarina of time.
Okay, It's super close between OoT and TP. TP, because it is just freaking incredible and made me the most excited I have ever been for a game. OoT, because I have been playing it since I was a young'n and have fallen in love with every aspect of it. They both have such amazing story lines and are darn right amazing...
As my final answer though, I must say OoT.
OoT for its pure classic-ness.
WW for the cheerful mood.
TP for its graphics and storyline.

WW for the cheerful mood.
The Earth Temple was one of the creepiest things I'd ever seen, though.
I got attacked by a ReDead and then got 20 rupees at the end of the hall in the WW Earth temple.
I felt like a ho.
Er, WW & MM are my favourites. I like M's and W's.
Here is the correct order, from best to worst (that I have played):
Majora's Mask
Wind Waker
A Link to the Past
Ocarina of Time
Link's Awakening
The Minish Cap
Oracle of Seasons/Ages
Twilight Princess
Yeah, that's right, TP is last. You may now change your opinion accordingly.

I would just like to say that was genius. I'm stealing that joke to use in The Unabridged Legend.

Took me a few hours to see how brilliant that statement is. XD

Yeah, everybody change your vote to Twilight Princess now. :P
Majora's Mask is at number three, but for me its major flaw was it lacked a large number of dungeons (if I recall, eight usually seems to be the usual number). Yeah, those great sidequests and all that stuff is fun and all, but to get right down to the point, I want to
kick some monster butt!!!!! Sure, you can go through the dungeons again anytime you want, but four dungeons will just get plain old boring over time.
I
will give them credit for making each of the four dungeons there, though incredibly amazing, fun, and original.
Oh, and I also liked Link's Awakening too. It's probably the most overlooked of the Zelda games.
The thing is, Majora's Mask didn't need more dungeons. It was awesome enough as it was.
And, to be perfectly honest, more dungeons can lead to less creativity on some of the later ones. I thought the dungeons in the second half of TP were pretty lackluster personally...except Snowpeak Ruins of course.
WE'VE HAD THIS FIGHT BEFORE ABOUT THE NUMBER OF MM DUNGEONS YOU GUYS
STFU OR GTFO U NFGS
OMGWTFBBQ
I have to say Phantom Hourglass is my favorite. The sad thing is I lost it somewhere in my room.
Aye, that is the problem with games these days.
People would never lose NES through N64 games, they were massive. Now we have games with so much more graphics and gameplay hours, and all in something the size of a postage stamp.
If you ask me, it's just stupid.
:-\ Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... I'd have to say Twilight Princess 'cause it was my first Zelda game and I liked it so much I became totally obsessed and played all the other games.
And joined this forum...
In second, but not by much (it was almost a tie with TP), is MM.
in third is TWW, and forth is FSA, which I got a few days ago.
Oh, and OoT comes in fith.
My fav is minish cap. But I also like LA. :)
OoT, hands down. ;)
Minish cap was definitly my favorite. There were tons of secrets, and the items that you gain were all really fun to use. It has stuff in it from the older games, the newer games, and alot that was unique too. It was not too easy, and not too hard. Vaati was really cool, it was fun to battle someone other than Ganon. ;D
I'm changing my favorite from TP to the Oracles. Seasons was my first Zelda games, so it has a particularily special meaning for me.
Also, I've updated the list to show a more accurate number of people voting for each game, and I've listed the names of all members next to the game they voted for.
If I am allowed to mention 3 Zelda games, there would be a 3-way tie between Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
A Link to the Past is my favorite.
It had a great pun on the hero's name in the title.
I think second is OoT.
Very hard to choose!!
I would say sentimentaly The Legend of Zelda, then Ocarina of Time for the gameplay. But I must say a word about A link to the Past. Done. ;D
I don't exactly know if you're just saying LttP or all three, so I'm counting you down as all three.
Yes sorry for my English, I'm from France so I can make some mistake, but I'll do my best to make me understand well!
I wanted to say all three! ;)
But if I had to keep only one game it would certainly be The Legend of Zelda (Nes)
