No more having a metallic mouth! :P
Nah, congratulations, Vaati. I hope all that time having them was worth it. :)
YAY! I've never had braces.

Not very much. If your teeth hurt a bit, don't put pressure on them. Don't chew gum, don't eat hard cookies, just don't eat hard stuff. Eat pudding, jello, etc.
I'm a total metal-mouth. My bro is a metal-plastic mouth XD
Congratulations, Vaati! (Actually, I never knew you had braces...) Anyways, good luck!

Sometimes. When you get them on the first time, it's like having a headache in your mouth, because of all of the change your mouth goes through at once. Plus, the brackets will rub against your mouth and cause sore spots. Your mouth will be a bit sore when you get them tightened, too. However, as long as you make sure to take some ibuprofen or aspirin before you go to get them on, and then make sure to take some periodically (every four hours or so), you'll adjust. Once you're used to them, they don't bother you much. Also be sure to get some orthodontic wax to put on any brackets that cause irritation. There's also going to be a bit of pressure when you get them tightened, so be sure to take some aspirin or whatever beforehand. And what my sister said is true, too.
Okay... I'm done.
Great Googly-Moogly.
I'm sure not even the Spanish Inquisition could come up with something more horrific.
I don't need any... yet. My sister is getting some. One of her teeth is so crooked, it's about half a centimiter above the rest of her teeth. Anyway, congratulations, Vaati!
braces are a form of midevil torture...
Yeah, right up there with the racks.
I disagree. Unless temporary discomfort is considered torture...
Then are you familiar with Chinese water torture? (http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n71/MagmarFire/linkwink.gif)
Well, I'm glad you're getting them off, and presumably not back on later. I've heard they suck, so kudos to you~
I need them, but only because two of my teeth are curved weird; I don't think braces would fix them up, so... (I also have sharp canine teeth.)

That's... literal torture. It can literally make someone go insane. That's not temporary discomfort... Braces cause you to be a bit sore for a little while, but you don't go crazy.
i would suggest a milkshake.
i always got mint chocolate chip when i had mine tightned :P
QuoteThat's not temporary discomfort...
Undergoing torture isn't permanent. The aftereffects may be, but being tortured... It's extreme, yes; but it's not
permanent.
Eh, who knows: maybe there were a few instances when braces caused someone to go off the deep end? My guess is as good as yours. ;)
I doubt it... I got really hacked off at my bite plate when I first got it because it caused me to lisp terribly, but I could never imagine going insane over it. Besides, I've learned to talk around it, so I sound normal again.

Hooray! I can't wait until I can eat whole apples again...
