Title: Ratchet and Clank Future
Post by: Gamefreak on October 26, 2007, 04:35:54 PM
Has been receiving excellent reviews all over the internet.  It's been scoring consistently in the high 9's(besides for Gamespot who are a bunch of XBox fanboys).

Many critics are calling it Best Game for the PS3, and a contender for Game of the Year.

Yeah, too bad its not coming out for the PS2, it would get even more sells if it did. because hardly anyone has a PS3. and almost everybody has a PS2.

But then they'd have to gut and leave out vital organs to the game's succss.

I tried playing this game once, but ended up putting the controller down in complete disgust. Two thumbs down.

Anything a little more substantial, ZV? ;)

Is my fist substantial enough for you? :P
Sorry, sorry, yo soy el grande queso.
I didn't like the game at all. It didn't even seem fun to me. I can play Space Invaders longer than I can play R&C.

Any reasons why?  Such as a bad plot?  Bad controls?

Reasons man, REASONS!

Is this game only going to be Out for the PS3? yea, how about some reasons ZV?

Yes, it's only out for the PS3.  Many reviewers are saying that it's the best game for the PS3 right now and that the graphic quality is just about the same level as Pixar animated films.

I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME SO MUCH THAT I COULD SCREAM!!! :-[ :-[ :-[

Well, looks like I'm going to have to sit in the dark, wondering how awesome it is, until the PS3 depreciates enough. :P

haha, yea, I know what you mean by that magmarfire, i want to play that and call of duty 4, but no, I have no PS3 and its to pricey...

If only the Blu-ray wasn't mandatory...then it would be cheaper...

The Doctor was telling me the other day that there'll be a $350 PS3 coming out soon.  And if it turns out to be false, blame him, not me.

I wouldn't be surprised if another price drop happened, actually. Hardware production costs are dropping, after all.

Yea, I tryied to see for prices at wall mart for ps3's, it was unruley, and heck, the games costs 60 dollars, I was like, omg, are you serious?
Title: Re:Ratchet and Clank Future
Post by: DW on October 27, 2007, 07:04:25 PM
Yeah, both 360 and PS3 are charging 60 bucks for a game, whereas Wii is 50.

Chalk another one up for Nintendo.

Post by: JDog on October 27, 2007, 08:45:28 PM
Yea, I know, the prices now days are really crazy for the newer games, like when PS2 game out, wasn't the games always 50 dollars? I can't really remember, it feels like it was so long ago...
Title: Re:Ratchet and Clank Future
Post by: DW on October 27, 2007, 08:47:02 PM
Well, a lot more goes on these discs now, more content, bigger worlds, more complex coding and graphics...they take more work and more cash to create.
Title: Re:Ratchet and Clank Future
Post by: JDog on October 27, 2007, 08:49:11 PM
Yeah, that is true, so the price is worth it then, its just the matter of getting the money for it.

Actually, some games were this expensive, and more, ten and more years ago. A typical Sega Saturn game went for $50, and that was in 1995! That's $65 today! It just goes to show you that not much has changed for video games, price-wise.

Wow, hard to believe that the sega games used to cost so much money, anways, lets try to get back on topic, even though I think I was the one that got off topic to begin with, lol

I'm getting Future today at Best Buy (gift cards ftw). I played the demo that the PS# came out with and it was pretty sweet. I'm kinda excited. Neigh, very very excited!  :D

I'm being forced through the whole "You can wait until Christmas" argument from my parents.

So I'm going to have to freeze myself until Christmas this year!

I know this is off-topic but I just had to say you are so lucky to have game prices like that. Here a Wii game is £40 ($80) and an Xbox 360/PS3 game is £50 ($100).

Geez! You'd expect them to be at least a little bit lower than that... :-X

Anyway, I'm pretty much screwed out of this game, and it didn't help any that I saw that awesome commercial of it. :P

Don't music CDs cost 15 USD in Europe, too? Or is it fifteen Euros?

Anyways, this looks like a good game, too bad I don't have a Playstation product... especially the 599 USD.
Title: Re:Ratchet and Clank Future
Post by: Hi no Seijin on November 09, 2007, 11:28:42 AM
Same here, Fisk.  Although, if memory is functioning as it should, PS3's are or will start at 399 USD.  Still expensive, but hey, it's $200 less than before.

YAY! I am getting this game when I get my PS3 for christmas, I asked my mom, and she said she would, so yea.
Title: Re:Ratchet and Clank Future

Yeah, it's $399 for a basic PS3. It kind of sucks, though, because the only essential difference between the most expensive models and the $399 model is memory capacity. The basic PS3 shares all the same functions as the top-of-the-line model; it just has a lower-capacity hard drive. I can see why you'd need a built-in hard drive, though, because along with saving games, you can also download classic Playstation games through a Wii Shop Channel-type service. I think the main reason it costs so much, though, is because it uses Blu-Ray discs for its games, and Blu-Ray technology is still not cheap. However, for the price, you could get a cheap Blu-Ray disc player and a game console all in one. That's what attracted so many people to the PS2: it was a cheap DVD player along with being a game system. The thing is, though, $399 is still too far out of the price range of most gamers. That's one of the things that killed the Sega Saturn: it cost $399 in 1995.

Anyways, to get back on topic, from the commercials I've seen for this game, it looks really sweet. I've never played any Ratchet and Clank game (or any Sony console game, for that matter) but I've always wanted to. This commercial makes me wish I had a PS3.

Ratchet & Clank is probably my favorite game series of all time.

At least in my opinion.

I got Future Tools of Destruction like 3 days ago. It's really cool. Not only do you collect bolts but you collect raritanium now to upgrade ypour weaponry. There are like.. 3 quick select rings.  :-X

YOU DON'T TELL SANTA WHAT TO DO, HE WILL GET VERY ANGRY!!!! >:(

Seriously, that kinda takes away from the fun of opening presents if you know what it's going to be.

I finally got my hands on the first R & C, it's great so far, I'm at the final boss.

Going Commando is the best of the PS2 family.  It's what rest of the series is built on.

I actually happen to like Up Your Arsenal very much... but (and this is for Sgika) if you're going to get all the R & C games, maybe you should avoid Deadlocked. It's really different and (in my opinion) kinda bad.

Albums cost anywhere between like £7 to £13 usually. Double it to get USD

Ahh, cheating the system for free games, huh? Lucky, lucky. Listen to me closely and listen good. The final boss in the second game is kinda hard. So before you fight it gwet the RINO II. Learn from MasterKey's mistakes :P

I'm playing all the ratchet and clank games in order, seen how I have them all, then when I get Future, I'll understand whats goin on, seen how I haven't played any of these games in along time.

Right now, to fix my boredom, I'm doing a V1 challenge for Going Commando - Deadlocked.

Basically, I'm not allowed to use upgraded weapons at all.  So most of the game is being played with the wrench.  If a weapon upgrades, I can't use it for the rest of the game.

Once I have enough cash to recover from the fact that I just splurged on a $500 60Gb PS3, I'll buy this game.

Also, anyone just happening to live by me can stop by to play it anytime they want.  I'm a bachelor, I can afford to have people stop by at 3am. ^_^

That happened to me, but my game never froze.

At least, I think that's where it happened.  It was definitely in R&C.

Then again, I did also have a RAM hack on my PS2. :D

Actually my game didnt freeze. it kinda kept working, but it was uber slow. Then I snuck through a door and it closed. And the glitch ended. I was very confuzzled though.  :-\ :P

Yea, I like glitches, specially when they're those little ones, you can kill them and get alot of bolts, but sadly, it freezes. :(
