Well, I have had a stressful last two days. Thursday evening, my stomach hurt, but I thought it was the stomach flu or something like that. However, that night I threw up three times, and in the morning, the pain had concentrated into the lower right of my abdomen. My mom took me to the hospital, and I got some blood and urine tests done, and then they made me drink some godawful oral contrast for a CT scan, which showed that I had appendicitis. I was sent to another hospital (the first one didn't do surgery for kids under 18 unless it was an emergency), where I got ready for surgery. I was supposed to go in at about 10:30 that evening, but a stab wound victim came in and took priority, so it was about 2:30 AM before I got in. They put me under, and I woke up about 2 and a half hours later, very groggy. They talked to me a bit, then I went back to sleep for several more hours. I got out this afteroon, I'm on pain meds, and it hurts to move around some. I'm just taking it kinda easy right now. The crappy thing is that a friend was supposed to spen the night on friday, and I was supposed to play Halo 3 with another friend today. Oh well, I'm just recouperating now, and I'm glad it's over.
Ouch... that must have sucked. I'm glad to hear that the worst of it's over, though. Get well soon!
That does suc. You didn't get to play Halo?!?! :o
Seriously though, I thought I had it a while ago, thank God I didn't. Why did you not tell us unti today though?
Because he wasn't at home?
Anyway, hope that you recover. Just try lay down and dream a lot and try to remember those dreams. It'll screw with your mind, fun stuff really, dreaming when you're extremely sick.
No appendix? How will your body construct the essential proteins which are needed to prevent the government from probing your mind with its mind...probe? (http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/Commodore_Axilon/Forum%20Crap/tinfoil.gif)
Seriously, hope you get well soon.
I hope you do, too! I hope you didn't go overboard with the free ice cream. ;)
Thanks guys, I havent had much to eat today at all really, but the ice cream did feel real good on my throat, since they stuck a breathing tube down it.
Ow. Breathing tube?

Take his word for it :P
And dude, you totally should have let us know! But I understand, after going through something like that, the last thing I would want to do is get on a web-site and jaw about it ???

Ow. Breathing tube?
It was for while I was under anesthesia.
can't eat because you might throw up during surgery, stick a breathing tube down there for the same reason.

Well, I got home at about 4 today, and I've been resting up until a while ago.
Well, the more rest you get, the better. Just take it easy for a while. You'll feel better soon.
Thats gotta Suck ZT, my friend had his appendix burst, and he was in the hospital for like 5 weeks, he's just now back in school like two weeks ago.
Yeah, it's a good thing it was caught before it burst. Really good thing.
Well, Joe's was caught just in time, like right when it happened I guess, idk, but it wasn't a good thing.
Right before it was too late is more like it. If it had been any further, he'd be dead.
See, Jdog, when the appendix ruptures, toxins spread throughout your body. He's very lucky to have survived, and ZT is lucky that he got his checked out before it ruptured.
Normally the operation only takes about 30 minutes to an hour, but it took so long for me becuase the appendix was kinda tangled in the tissue. The doctors also said there were probably some microruptures, which basically means they're too small to do any harm, and shouldn't be worried about at all.
