In 2009, I will be running for my city's City Council.
I'll be using 2008 as a planning year to gather information, raise funds, and other political what-not for my campaign.
My first goal is to establish a base of support in the Juniors, Seniors, and teachers at my school to convince them that I'm electable.
I might also have the American Legion vote handy, since I'm on very good terms with them politically and personally.
Wait, wait, wait... What about College? I think running on a city council and being at college can get... err... iffy.
Considering that this is in the General Discussion board, there's a very good chance that you're serious. But then again, in 2009, you should be around 19, 20 years old, and that seems a bit young to be running for a public office.
Gah! Should I be joking around or should I be serious?! D:
You can joke around or be serious if you want. I'm serious. I know that much.
We just had a local 18 year old win President of the School Board in a neighboring city.
Oh, well, I could never do stuff like that because I am not that organized but either way, that sounds pretty cool.
Yeah, like we need more Republicans in politics. :P
But, yeah, good luck, I suppose. Though a city councilman without a college degree is unheard of! (http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/Commodore_Axilon/Forum%20Crap/monocle.gif)
That my friend is another reason why he is gamefreak. lol
Good luck, Gamefreak! And when you win, I hope you don't forget about us!!!! ;)
Yea, you better not be like jack and leave us.
Don't accuse Jack of anything. I'm sure his reasons were good. Anyways, don't think badly of him.
I wasn't accusing him, I was just sayin don't do what he did and leave us, I know he had a reason, but yea, don't leave us, if we're still around by then, which I am sure we will be.
Dude, that's awesome! Hope you do well!

Don't even ask Gamefreak not to leave. If his life becomes so busy that he can longer visit TDC, then it's going to happen, whether he (or you or anyone else) likes it or not. It may be sad, but what do you expect? If he gets elected, he's going to be entering a public office, and his job is going to have to take priority.
yea, but I hope he doesn't get to busy to where he leaves.
Well, reading up on the position(which I should have done in the first place), meeting only take place twice a month at 8:00 pm. So, as far as I know, it won't eat up to much time.
Well, thats good then, I hope you have fun doing what it is your doing lol
I finally came up with a campaign theme today.
The power of youth!
Nice. If I had one, it'd "Behold, the power of cheese."
Mine would be something like "I live in my own little world...but it's okay, they know me there!"
Not very inspiring, is it?
The thing that worries me the most about this campaign, is that I'm going against people who have been politicians longer than I've lived. It's a bit unsettling. But at the same time, I see it as a possible asset. That the time has come for fresh ideas and new thoughts.
Gamefreak, (or el presidente) I've always imagiend you to be a strong minded, yet level headed politician. You have a very... strong position... you have a personal connection to your views and you reiterate them quite well. So I say go for it! ;D
Out with the old, in with the new! And Zelda obsessed!
Yes, don't forget about mentioning Zelda every so often, okay? Zelda fans everywhere (in Ohio?) would vote for you! :P
I'll use you as a write-in option come Election Day next year.

Don't be silly, they don't have Video Games in Ohio.
Or electricity, for that matter. :P

Hooray for us Ohioans and our George Washington grills!
I'm tempted to call the law on Gamefreak's hamster abuse, but I suppose since it's his only way of using teh intrawebs...
Seriously though, you should put all of us at TDC in a position of power.
I call being the man behind the curtain! :D
I just want the British Isles.
Or are you not going to have the power to grant me a kingdom?
That comes later, HnS. It's Ohio, then world. Haven't you seen his agenda?
Nope. I'm afraid the awesomeness would blind me.
My agenda:
1. Oregon, Ohio
2. Ohio
3. U.S.A
4. World
5. ??
6. Profit
I believe step 5 would be a vacation house in Chuck Norris' Beard.
Chuck Norris has no chin, though. Beneath Chuck Norris' bead lies but another fist.
My eyes! The sheer brilliance of this plan has blinded me!
Wait. I looked directly into a light bulb. Never mind.
Still, good agenda. Start small and work your way up.
Hail Il Palazzo!
So if you take over the world, make sure to spare me. I don't want to fall to the flaming hands of death that will become Gamefreak.
The (active) members of Desert Colossus will be given positions as diplomats for parts of the world.
Sign up soon, key countries are filling up fast.
VENEZUELA!
I hear it's lovely in the fall...
British Isles. I hear it's lovely year round.
