Title: Link, Hyrule, Ganon, the Master Sword, and the Mask.
Post by: TP Zelda on February 22, 2008, 12:34:59 AM
You know at the end of OoT, where you beat Ganon, and you go back to being a kid? Well, I think that story keeps repeating, because he went back to being a KID, therefore Ganon was never defeated. Link travels to go look for someone, and gets stuck in a world with only three days. There is no "Ganon" or "Zelda" in the game (minus the part where you have flashbacks of Zelda). I'm probably going into a whole new category that has nothing to do with this, but I also wonder, how come you can beat bosses again in MM, how does the Master Sword keep getting back in a pedistal(sp?), and how come in MM the masks are filled with magic? What's so bad about the Mask?

Haha..I have a complicated way of putting things. And I;m probably missing some stuff here... oh wellz!!  ;)

You can fight against bosses again in MM because you can go back in time to the point where you first entered Clock Town, and just about everything has been reset.

The Master Sword keeps on getting returned to the pedestal because Link always returns it; it technically belongs to Hyrule, so he can't keep it once he has defeated Ganon.

Why shouldn't the masks be filled with magic?  Do you have something against magical masks?  Do you?!

There is nothing bad about the mask.  Unless you're referring to Majora's Mask.  If you have played MM, then you would know the mask has an evil history and is the reason for Termina's trouble.  If you haven't, well now you know.  Now, if we're talking about the Fierce Deity's Mask, then we don't know for sure.  It's hinted that the Fierce Deity is a bad guy, but we have no further clues to his back story, which kind of sucks because the lines between good and evil can be quite blurry at times (more times than most people will admit, but that's besides the point).

Also, if Link goes to look for someone in MM, a direct sequel to OoT (along the child timeline, at least), then the story in OoT kind of can't repeat itself.  After all, nowhere in OoT do you go to Termina.

I was tired okay?!  :-* I wasn't thinking straight TT~TT Don't blame me!! Nyuuuu~

Anyhoo, I just thought that if Link didn't travel, then OoT would keep repeating itself because...yeah lol

Also, what happens is that when Link goes back to a child, he warns Daphnes and Ganon is taken care of before the Imprisoning War starts.

The king at the time of OoT was most definitely not Daphnes.

Well, we don't have a name for him, so might as well call him Daphnes, right?

I like "Unnamed King of Hyrule at the time of Ocarina of Time" myself. Has a nice ring to it.

Actually, we could just use the word "Ukohattooot" as a name in itself.

Think about it.

He could've been. Daphnes' spirit was put into the boat that became The King of Red Lions in TWW, so it was sort of preserved. He even said himself he had been looking for the Hero for a long time. Not to mention he can do creepy ghosty thingy where he disappears then reappears somewhere else. I hate that.  ???
