Title: Least/Most Helpful Sidekick
Post by: Vaati on March 30, 2008, 12:32:31 PM
Post who you think was the least helpful and mot helpful sidekick in the series. I, for one think Ezlo was the least helpful because whenever I'd ask him for information, he'd always say something totally off-topic like"Hmm...I could really go for a hot bath right now." Even Navi would have at least some helpful information. Like if I (play Saria's song, say I don't want to talk to Saria) and ask her she'll at least say where I need to go.
As for the most helpful, I'd have to say Midna, one time I was trying to find out to cross a gap in the Bridge of Eldin to get this heart piece, and what se told me pointed to moving one of those statues with my rod to cross.

I don't know who that is.

As for me, Navi.
I mean, what the f***, man.

Ciela is the fairy which helps you in Phantom Hourglass. You know? Where you have to move with the stylus? She is thw pointer of the stylus or something like that. So, you cant really move without her.  :D Go DS, Go DS!

She's also actually important to the story and not just a game mechanic, but if I say anymore, I'm pretty sure I'll give away spoilers.

Well, I'm sure it'd be much cooler if Phantom Hourglass didn't SUCK.

I wouldn't say PH sucked, but it definitely isn't one of my favorite Zelda games.

The story was really bad, but I liked most of the puzzles. I just wish they had gotten a bit harder. They were still hard enough to have my sister come to me every five seconds for help though.

3 reasons to love PH:
1. Its a Wind Waker sequel.
2.Has a sea overworld.
3.Has such a "brave" character as Linebeck. :D
Seriusly, this game rocks hard! If you look it in a different, twisted way, PH is for TWW that, which MM was for OoT.

Guys, don't forget to say if you liked the sidekicks or not. Saying "I'd have to say Navi." doesn't tell anyone whether you liked them or not. So, please, tell us.

Yes, I like Ciela. She is like... cool for a sidekick.

Well, it would if anybody liked Navi in the first place, but nobody does. So...

I like Navi as a character, just not as a gameplay aid.

My mind, you just blew it.

That's somehow even worse. (http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p55/Commodore_Axilon/Forum%20Crap/frown2.gif)

It gets worse.

*steals emoticon*

Seriously, though, Navi isn't that bad if you just look at her as a character and not a gameplay element with a stupid AI.

She was barely a character, though.

Then it helps to have an imagination, doesn't it?

I lost mine in the Middle East.

May I have a new one, please?

It will be in your mailbox in six to eight weeks.

HAH!  I've caught you in the act of lying.

I don't have a mailbox!

Yes, well, you'll still get it in six to eight weeks.

Although, for your treachery, I may make it six to eight months instead.

That's all right, I sort of assumed it'd take that long, anyway.

And Shika, how did you know?!

Just like you have sniper squirrels everywhere, right? ;)

Anyway, back on topic, guys. Remember that this isn't the Chatboard.

Hmmm, yes, well, if Link had a sniper squirrel for a sidekick, the sniper squirrel would totally win.

It would also make the game totally suck.

I'm sorry, but I don't want to take care of a real dog, let alone a virtual one.  Then again, at least I can turn the virtual one off when it starts to annoy me.

Yes, please try to stay on topic.
And yeah, Navi really isn't that bad of a character. If only she wouldn't just pop up at random moments, making me jump out of my skin, then I'd like her better.

Welcome back, Vaati... 8)  And since when does Navi pop out at random times?
Title: Re:Least/Most Helpful Sidekick
Post by: Commodore Axilon on April 08, 2008, 03:07:53 PM
Are you serious?

She randomly pops out to tell you useless stuff you already know for pretty much the entire game.

Have you ever played OoT before, Tacheon? :P

Post by: Vaati on April 08, 2008, 03:38:28 PM
Believe me, she does. For example, when going through the maze in the Sacred Forest Meadow as an adult, Navi pops up randomly and tells you to look out for the bulldog guys. Tacheon, it's called having a life outside TDC. 8)
And about my opinion on the most helpful sidekick, Midna helped me when I was trying to get this piece of heart at the Bridge of Eldin. She was actually quite alot of help.  :)
