Anyone create really awesome levels? I know Mags can throw down in the "build a level mode" he sends me most of his XD
I made two recently! I made one with 3 levels of smashing on it, and the bottom layer is all ice. I sent it to Magmar, Master-Key, and Shika.
I also sent you guys my recreation of the old Super Mario Bros. level from the very first Smash Bros. Hope you guys like it, because I think it was a bit of a failure.
I do hope Nintendo sends us more building parts in Wii updates. That would be rather cool
...
I think you might want to change that last sentence.
You say there should be more parts in Wii updates!? Best. Idea. EVER. :-[
Anyway, as ZV said previously, I have made a few stages. As I make them, I try to have it so the player has options or has to do something better than the other players to get an edge on the stage, regardless of what character you use.
The stages I have made regarding this are as follows:
DECISIONS
You have two levels here: the top and bottom. The point of this is that if you choose the bottom one, you're less likely to be blasted off the stage (you're more likely to bounce off the top or tech off of it). The downside to this is that it's covered in ice and has moving platforms and springs on each side. In this case, you cannot grab an edge.
The top level is rather normal: no ice and two moving platforms on top. However, on the top level, you're more likely to be blasted off the stage because there's nothing to bounce into.
And there are spikes on the bottom for those of you who are lucky enough to recover onto them.
Wave of Anxiety
This stage is mostly just a "wave" of moving platforms on the left side and a staircase on the right. If you choose more stable ground, it's easier to hit your opponents, but you don't have as much room to move around. The platforms, however, give you more evasion, but there's a greater chance for you to SD should you miss a platform while jumping.
Struggle
Essentially two conveyor belts rolling toward the edge of the screen and a small, stable platform in the center. The objective is to fight for the center ground in hopes of being able to stabilize your movements and avoid falling off from the conveyor belts.
The Ramparts
Two levels again: the top is trapezial with conveyor belts on top. It's perfect if you want to protect yourself from being blasted upward from a strong Usmash.
The bottom is larger with a moving platform closing a gap partially filled with three blocks that fall if you step on them. The objective for this stage is to avoid the center if you can. If you are in the center, get out immediately.
Hypnosis
A small, stable platform is offset with three large, rotating platforms. The key here is mobility: the more you can move, the more of the stage that will be open to you.
XTREME HALFPIPE!
A large halfpipe, rotating platforms in the center, two ramps above it, ice below the flanks of the halfpipe, and springs slightly above the center halfpipe. If you're playing without items on, then there's hardly a challenge, but if you play it with containers on, then you need to watch out for rolling barrels and wheeled crates.
Playing with other items on, however, means that the center of the halfpipe will be littered with items. Fighting for the center to get these items is pretty obvious for this stage.
Windmill
Rotating platforms on the very top, two ramps on the left and right sides of the stage, two columns of solid blocks in the center, two conveyor belts rolling toward the center, and spikes at the bottom. Much of your time might be on the left and right sides (as that's where the most ground is), but playing with items, you also need to watch out for runaway containers that may hit you on the way down. Items will also concentrate at the center, but as there are spikes at the bottom, getting them is pretty risky.
Tower in the Sky
A T-shaped stage with blocks roughing out the sides and ladders under the top. It's a straightforward stage like Final Destination, but if you get knocked to the lower left or lower right, you still have a chance to recover. Just grab the ridges on the column and climb back up. You also need to climb horizontally using the ladders under the top to get back to the edge. This can be tricky, as if you use your Up-B, you're likely to not grab onto them because the ladders themselves are small.
Antigravity
Two platforms on the top left and right of the screen, rotating platforms equidistant from these, small platforms in the center, a bunch of springs on the bottom, and spikes below the springs.
With the springs in deploy, you'll probably need to use some aerial attacks to knock your opponents silly, finishing them off at the top left or right. Be carful with the springs, however: if you slip between two of them, you'll be trapped between the spikes and the bottom of the springs; try moving out of there or by trying to slip between the springs again. The former is more practical because you have very little time to redirect yourself after getting damaged from the spikes.
That's all I'm going to say for now. >.>
EDIT: And yes, ZV, you might want to change the last sentence of your post. It's a little...I dunno...
Oh, sorry guys.
lol!
Me and my friends say that as
"Dude that was Awesome!"
But we use a different word.
Sorry, I forgot where I was.
;)
I've made a few stages on Scotty's copy. Let's see...Two, I believe. I sent one of them to you guys.
PETE'S BOUNCE HOUSE
Bunch of springs on the bottom with two empty spaces in the middle, meaning meteor smashes are hard to do unless you aim right. There are four platforms with ladders attaching them in the air, and some landmarks. Most of the fighting takes place switching between platforms and such. If you get cornered, you can just jump off the platform and get rescued by a spring, and come up somewhere else.
THE SIEVE
Basically, it's shaped like a huge cauldron. There are two empty spaces on the sides near the top of the closed ellipse, you have to knock them through there to kill them, and even then they might survive. Oh, and you can't cheat and go through the hole to stand on top of the Sieve. The top is made of all spikes There are four moving platforms scattered in the middle of the sieve and a stable area where all the regeneration happens in the middle of the sieve, with two conveyor belts and stairs beneath. There's a lot of damage accumulation on this level.

Yeah, I got Sieve!
It was pretty good!
Did I ever send you
Fantasy?
Its a level I made a week or two ago.
There is a top level, a middle level (complete with a smashball safe-house) and a bottom level which is pretty straight forward. Nice level.
About Fantasy...if you get into the safehouse, it's a long shot that you'll be able to get out again; the conveyor belt blocks the way.

Really?
I always get out just fine!
I think my friend Jesus had trouble, but it was only with Link.
Huh. That would probably explain it, then. It's just the character I'm using. :P

Poor mags XD
I'll see if I can fix it, and send it back to you. Kay?
Sounds good. Thanks, man. :)
I'm trying to build enough levels to get the new parts and such for Scotty, we barely have any. I wish you could rotate spikes and such on their side though...

I used Golden Hammers.
You'll find that there are a LOT of squares that Golden Hammers don't work on. Its annoying.
And yeah, if you could rotate pieces, it would make things a lot more interesting.
But hey, they have to leave stuff for the 4th installment.
I made a Donkey Kong stage earlier today. Basically, it's a replica of the first level of the Donkey Kong Arcade.
For extra fun, try using rolling crates. ;)
Mags-- I was doing a Brawl on that one level you made with all the blocks and moving platforms (and nothing else... I can't remember the name of it, though.)
Anyhow, I was playing against a level 3 Bowser among other enemies, and Bowser kept glitching up by getting stuck in a pseudo-cave of the blocks... and he would just do that annoying Bowser-sprint thing. It made it really hard to play.
Just letting you know.
Doesn't really narrow it down much, but...is it Pacman, by any chance?
Yeah, pac-man was pretty cool!
I made on earlier today called "The Well".
Mags, Shika, and Master Key are gonna get it soon.
Sweet! New stage comin' my way! :D
Say, did you get the Donkey Kong one yet, ZV?
