Yep, we're now seven members away from having 10,000. It's pretty amazing, isn't it? It's a shame 99% of them are bots... They're probably eating up some bandwidth, too. Thus the purpose of this topic: Is there any way we can, you know, get rid of the bots? If we can't prevent them from signing up, I propose that, if possible, we delete them. Here's my idea: if any given member has been registered for three months or longer and have made a grand total of zero posts from their date of registration, they're disposed of. If it's a legitimate member who might have registered, forgot about the site, and decided to come back, they can always re-register.
This is my opinion. What do you think should be done?
I can't single out people who have less than X number of posts.
The only ones I can single out are the ones who haven't posted in 30 days.
Set up a blanket banning of 'members' with emails ending in common bot emails.
I did that a long time ago. All the .ru's and everything else. It's a no go.
Well, the thirty day thing is a no-go.
That would rid us of people like Darth Windisis, Lady Nintendo, Alpha and KamakaziPlumber!
KP and Wyndisis have posted...
Wait, let me say this!
*clears throat*
Mikaudes, what do the statistics say about the members number?
*crushes mouse* We're over NINE THOUSAND!
HH already did it. But he didn't crush his mouse. So you win.
Mouse-crushing really does conquer all.
Congratulations.
Mikaudes is also a Zora, so there's some more points right there.
There's another Zora on these forums as well...wonder if he'll bother to show up...
