Title: Glitches and secrets
Post by: Anju on October 12, 2006, 04:11:02 PM
Here you can post some Zelda glitches or secrets you've stumbled upon while playing MM or OoT.(You can aloso post a little about it.)
Mine are:
1.Flying Epona:At the Southern Swamp shooting gallery I left Epona by the pond and skipped 1/2 a day.
2.Two Eponas:I left Epona behind the gate on the 2nd day at The Gorman Brothers'.Then,I sung the song of time.I called her at Milk Road and she appeared behind the gate near the carpenter.I entered Romani Ranch. There she was.I went back, she was behind the gate.
3.Back to the future:One time,it was the 2nd day,but the people were in their same positions. On the third day, they were doing the 2nd days' schedule.Night of the final day and the poor citizens of Clocktown didn't see it coming lol.

OOT cheat, to defeat Morpha quickly, when you pull it out with the hookshot, you can use the hookshot still to pull it to you. Do this until you're in a corner, where there aren't spikes. When you in the very corner, begin making turns and hookshoting until Morpha is facing the corner. All it does is hop from you, so it'll stay in the corner, where you can slash it none end until it dies.

Use any Weapon on Epona (gold cartridge only)
To use other weapons on Epona, you need to get rid of the Master Sword. One way of doing this is in the second battle of Ganon. When he knocks the sword away from you, save it, and press reset.
Now open the saved file and don't equip any swords. The green button should be blank.
Go to Hyrule Field and play Epona's song to get Epona. Now press different C buttons to use the items. You can use Deku Nuts to get off the horse and walk on foot and control the horse at the same time. You can also use the hookshot if you want the game to lock up.
NOTE : You won't lose the Master Sword by doing this. Any time you want it back to normal, equip a sword or go back in time.

I got that off Gamespot. What does 'gold cartrige' mean? Cause If I know I can do that flying cheat shown in the OoT Glitch video.

You know what a cardridge is, right? Anyway, the first versions of OOT can be recognized by the gold cardriges. All other versions had grey ones. Only a few first versions have been released, and lots of fans claim that was the best version, because it wasn't cencored. Because it was the first version, it had a few bugs that were removed in younger versions, like that cheat.

Heres some glitches for OoT

Leave with the Fishing Pole - There are two ways you can do this.
Use the hoverboots - In some versions of the game, it will allow you to cast while wearing the hoverboots and floating over the water. Do this and then leave through the door. You can do it, as the lure should still be cast out and will be dragging behind you. The guy should not stop you when you leave. Outside your pole will be invisible. If you cast it, Link will freeze, not the game. You'll have to restart though. Sometimes the Pole will become a Deku Stick.

I found a glitch in the game and i think this is how it goes .Well as  adult link go inside the windmill in the village and talk to the man then go to the over side of the windmill and hookshot onto that thing in the wall and the room should go green at the top for a little while well it only lasts for about 4 to 6 seconds or less .

More Bottles
First equip a bottle, then go find something to put in a bottle (example: fish, bug, blue fire, fairy, or anything else you can put inside a bottle). Now, hit the C Button to catch the item and hit start directly after hitting C button. Select an item you do not want (Claim Check is recommended) and equip it instead of the bottle you were catching the item with. Press start again and you will see Link still catching the item. Now you have an extra bottle. Do this on all of your weapons and you will have 24 bottles! (Note: do NOT save after doing this or else you CANNOT get your weapons back!)
Unlimited Skulltulas
First you need to get bombs, the Song of Storms, and the Boomerang. Then go to hyrule castle and jump in the moat so the guards won't see you. Drift until you see a shallow corner. Climb up and you will see a tree. Play the Song of Storms. A hole will open up, then jump down. There will be several walls that can be blown down with a bomb. One of these has a gold skulltilla behind it. BE CAREFUL, first kill the bug then stand right in front of the circle that sends you back to the surface. Next, throw the Boomerang at the token and as soon as it hit's the token step back on the circle. You will be back at the surface. If you did this right the gold skulltulla should still be there. Repeat this process until you have 100 or more.

NOTE : You won't lose the Master Sword by doing this. Any time you want it back to normal, equip a sword or go back in time.
Re-use bugs
Let a bug go near a bean bed, but make sure you're not too close. Once one bug goes in, catch one of the other two, and you'll have as many bugs as you need.
Fall through walls
Ride Epona to an area where her left side is directly up against a wall. Get off and you should fall through the wall. This may not work everywhere.
Roll through spiked things
You know those spike things that slide around (like the ones in Ice Cavern). Iff you roll before you touch them, they will pass harmlessly through you.
Pass through objects
This is a very unusual glitch that requires you to interact with the cartridge itself. When you come up to a character or object that's blocking your path (such as Mido or the Kokiri blocking the forest exit at the beginning of the game), you must pull up VERY gently on the left side of the cartidge. If done so correctly, the screen will become a bit fuzzy, and if you move forward, you can use this tme to walk through people and objects that aren't completely solid. This trick gives you access to portions of the game you wouldn't be able to get to until later.
Use the Lens of Truth without using magic
Play the Song of Storms. As soon as you regain control of Link, use the Lens of Truth. If this is done correctly, the white border around the magic meter will not flash and you can have the Lens on without depleting your magic.
Make fish easier to catch.
Go to the pond as adult Link. Put the Hover Boots on, and pay the guy to fish. Once you have the rod, run onto the pond, and cast while hovering. You can now walk around with the rod cast! While you can do this, let a fish bite the rod. When it has, hold in "A" so as not to loose the fish. Run over to the pond owner, and tell him you want to quit. You'll loose the rod, yet the fish will be stuck in the place it was in before you chose to quit. Now, simply run over to the fish, and the little scene which plays when you catch a fish will play. And there you have it! You can use this to catch the biggest, hardest to reel in fish in the pond with great ease!

At greudo valley go to the archery place and look at the brown horse and look where it is standing then play the sun song to make it dark and the horse will be gone so get epona and remebering where the brown horse stood place epona there as best as you can and then play the sun sondg to make it day then head up there and if you plasted epona in the right poistion it will look like there is a two headed horse .

I got one. In OoT equip the hover boots and jump across Gerudo Vally with epona.During the little video hold the analog stick forward. Link will fall of epona, hover for a little bit, and then fall down into the river and epona will make it safely to the other side ;D. This only works about 25% of the time.

I did that in Zoras Domain, as adult Link, use the hoover boots and run over to King Zora. It's really fun.  ;D

Right, then, after looking through eight pages, this was the closest thing to an OoT version of "The Did You Know Of Majora's Mask?" or whatever.

You can use the Megaton Hammer to hit Ganondorf's energy balls to him.  You just need to find the right timing.

Title: stone tower glitch
Post by: blue_darkling on June 19, 2008, 12:47:17 PM
i have majora's mask on my Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition and i'm in the stone tower. i've looked up guidesand discovered that there seems to be a room missing in me game for some odd reason. there is a room where you have to charge up a mirror with light and then reflect the mirror's light on a sun block. when you go through the door behind the sun block you are supposed to go into a room with a pillar that you can knock down as a goron, but when i go through the door behind the sun block it just takes me back into the entrance room! i have no idea why this is happening but i'm assuming it was probably a problem converting the game from nintendo64 onto gamecube, but i would appreciate it if someone could help me with this... or at least if it would make others aware of this problem because it might not be only my game that does this.  :'(

You know, this is something to look into. I'll see if I can check it out.

And for the sake of space, I'll merge this with the Glitches and Secrets topic. Really not much of a need to start a new topic about one glitch if there's already a topic about the glitches of Majora's Mask.

EDIT: Merged. Ignore the double post.

ahh yeah good idea and i'm sorry i didn't realise i'd double posted.

anyway thanks for looking into it.

i'm not sure if i mentioned this but the game i'm playing is majora's mask in the legend of zelda collector's edition disc which is the one with lots of different old-school zelda games on it (the first 2 zelda games, oot, mm and a demo of ww

thanks.

Don't worry; I have the same thing. Though looking into it will likely take awhile because I deleted my file a few weeks ago...

And you didn't double-post. It was just a side-effect of merging the two topics.

I don't know it, but someone here do, I remember reading it here a long time ago.

oh, well i can't see a pillar to be honest, and if you have to be a goron to knock it down then it can't be underwater because gorons can't go underwater. i just don't understand this because there is no pillar and the guides say that the door leads you to it.

From memory, I remember this room with this pillar with...faces or something on it. You'd knock down the pieces one by one as if you had the Megaton Hammer, and you'll be able to use a light beam from the ceiling to reflect the light to the mirrors in the room.

That's if memory serves me correctly.

I think I also remember some sun switches on the wall next to the pillar, too. Oh, yeah--and Black Boes in the room that try to mess you up when you have your shield out.

Blue_darkling, speaking as the resident MM expert, I would honestly have to say that the Stone Tower of Ikana is one of the most tedious dungeons I have ever had to go through.  Are you playing on the Gamecube version, or the Nintendo 64 version?  If you're playing the Gamecube version, take your memory card and go to someone's house who also has the proper game and console(s) to play GCN MM.  Check to see if it's just a glitch in your game.

If you're playing in the N64 version, it's possible that it's just a glitch, in which case you're screwed.

However, try every possible option.  I don't recall specifically where that room is, but if you'd like I can play through up to that point and then write down my instructions (from the entrance) to get to that room.

yeah i'm playing it on the gamecube, and thank you for the offer but you don't have to give me instructions and stuff cause i've completed the game before using cheats, i just wanted to do it without cheats this time lol
