Title: Photography Class
Post by: Darth Wyndisis on June 23, 2008, 07:39:49 PM
This Spring I decided to take a color photography class as an elective.  It turned out to be a lot of fun.  So I though I would share with you some of the better images that I captured.  There isn't anything too astounding, but none the less, here's what I scanned so far.  All these pictures were taken with a 35mm film camera.

This one here is just an ordinary glass of water with an incandescent lamp shining on it.  I was happy with how the color turned out.(http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/2630/water001fg8.jpg)

These next three are all from my 55 gallon aquarium.  I was lucky that the fish stayed still long enough for me to photograph them.  I used a flash and close up filters for all of them.

That's pretty good!

When I first saw the topic title, I thought it said 'Cryptography Class', and I got all excited... (cryptography nerd)

The glass of water looks really cool, actually. Looks all cloudy and misty, like the glass itself is full of fog

That yellow one rules the entire tank.  I have another fish just like him in a different tank but I am afraid to photograph him because he is at least ten years old and the flash might give him a heart attack.

Do you keep African cichlids too, Gamefreak?

You mean like with a telephoto lens?  The most powerful lens I have is 200mm, which gives 4X magnification.  I used that to take some pictures of some birds, but those didn't turn out too well in terms of filling the frame.

How many photos did you end up taking for the class?

About 312, but I only had to turn in 35 of them.

Were these your favorite ones? Or just ones that were completely random?  :)

I do.  I just fed them a dozen feeder guppies yesterday.

Beautiful fish.

We have 2 yellows, although it's 3 now.

One of our yellows had his entire back tail chewed off by the other fish and it looked like he was dead.  So my dad bought another yellow cichlid.

Little did we know that the yellow one was just keeping his distance and healing himself.  Now his tail is fully grown back and he's social again.
