Already?
It doesn't even look like a pokemon.
This new generation Digimon-istic isht is making me sick to my stomach. I hate the Pokemon company for what they're doing to my childhood heros.

I, for one, am not as cynical about it. Except for the fact that I don't have a DS to play it on... :-*

didn't they just get done releasing two new pokemon games a couple months ago? :o

Actually, I believe that was April of last year.

Oh my bad, it just didn't seem that long ago that they released them. I thought the two new ones where fairly new...

For games of a large franchise, yes, they typically are fairly new. Remember, though, since the beginning of the Pokemon games, there have been games that upgraded each generation. Remember Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald?

You had pokemon as your childhood heroes? Animals that exist solely to beat the crap out of each other as your childhood heroes?

Makes sense.

In response to Zelda Veteran's post, I felt this comic was appropriate.

PS: Zelda Veteran is the old guy.

Gotta love VG Cats

Although I have played Diamond all the way through, I have to say, all these kodfoundin new pokemon look something wierd.
When I first read that VG Cats comics, I thought Dialga, and Palkia were fake names just for it to sound wierd. Man was I wrong.

All pokemon look stupid. People just like to look at things through rose-colored glasses.

"When transferred from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Shaymin automatically changes into its Sky Forme in Pokemon Platinum and back again to Land Forme when transferred back to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, much like Deoxys did when transferred among the Generation III games."

...But I thought that Shaymin's sky forme was just a myth made up by PK? She made up fake pictures of the starters from D/P, back when the starters were "fighting, psychic, and dark," remember?

Ugh, I'd show pics, but DA's being retarded as always.

I'm fairly certain that Shaymin's sky forme and land forme are just a myth, though...

I thought they went a little overboard with ruby and Sapphire. I think that overall, crystal was the best, but now it's finally gotten weird
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: Fishalicious on July 01, 2008, 06:21:41 PM
I concur; Crystal is amazing, I'm still only a short few pokes away from completing the pokedex, and I've spent over 300 hours on it. :3 It was the peak of Pokermans.

However, after Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, the series went downhill. Some of the pokemon are salvagable-Torchic, Blazekin, Absol...

If only they would remake Gold/Silver or Yellow/Crystal for the DS. I mean, I loved Firered and LeafGreen, but the second generation was AMAZING. Probably the best.

I hear ya pal.
I already did complete the pokedex. Then my cat spilled water on the game two years later. Somehow I got the memory back, though...I forget how.

Damnit, now I want to go play Crystal

A lot of people are speculating about a Gold/Silver remake.

Since they made a Generation 1 remake during Generation 3, many people are thinking that they'll make a generation 2 remake during Generation 4.

If they remade generation 2 (the Johto guys) on the DS, I would just... well my Pokemon fandom would probably explode. Johto was the best! Maybe even better than Kanto...

However I have to disagree with many of you. I love Diamond Version. It isnt so bad. I mean sure, it isn't nearly as cool as the older 251 pokemon, but it's not terrible.

I'm hoping for a G/S/C DS remake, I loved them the best. I hated Ruby and Saphire though.
Diamond and Pearl weren't awful, better than R/S/E in my opinion but still nowhere as good as R/B/Y and G/S/C.
I also want another Pokemon Snap game, I was absolutely obsessed with it.
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: MasterKeyX on July 02, 2008, 12:59:40 PM
Pokemon Snap... I think they did come out with another one, for the G/S/C generation.

Didn't they? Or am I wrong?
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: alical on July 02, 2008, 01:06:13 PM
If it did it completely passed me by.
But I'm pretty sure the original is the only one. I could be wrong though.

Anyway I agree with you. I liked the R/S/E generation the least. It just... didn't have the magic, you know?
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: Master Dragmire on July 02, 2008, 01:09:15 PM
The R/S/E was still better than Diamond....
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: alical on July 02, 2008, 01:11:51 PM
I dont think it was, I much preffered D/P to R/S/E.
Not sure why but there really wasn't much I liked about it, I didn't like the setting, the characters or the pokemon.

No ways. Diamond and Pearl saw the retunr of the real time feature, which was a great thing at least to me.

Besides, Groudon was so lame.  :-*

Wat!? I disagree... Would be better if he had a better attack in Brawl, but whatever. :P
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: MasterKeyX on July 02, 2008, 01:27:53 PM
C'mon, man! Kyogre could kick Groudon's red butt!

Water is suppereffective against ground! Besides, I'd rtaher be in a rainstorm than a drought. Drought make everything dry. Ew.

Not if Groudon can learn Electric-type attacks!

You forgot about Kyogre's Ridiculously high Special Defense. And he knew Recover... and that attack that increased Spec Def. and attack.

Ah, yes, forgot about that. And since it has the Drought ability, it doesn't have to charge it up! :D
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: MasterKeyX on July 02, 2008, 01:48:18 PM
The only thing Groudon had that could combat Kyogre was SolarBeam. Due to his ability he could do it everytime without having to charge up.

Still though, I didn't like the advantage Kyogre had.

Yeah, in that last panel I was thinking about turning around and educating that kid with the back of my hand.

I loved the GS series too. Although the first 151 were my favorites, I loved the second gen almost as much. I was a little skeptical about the third gen, but they grew on me. They were still relatively simple looking, with simple and acceptable attacks.

Ha Spinda. Always good for a lol.

Do you know in R/E/S that every Spinda you find has a different pattern on ita? I thought that was a cool factoid.

You forgot:

How dare you!

But anyways, it seems as though this pokemon game might actually have a plot beside the standard: "Get 8 badges and stop an evil team" plot.

Well Giratine is supposed to come from an alternate dimension. There is a lot of potential there.

Deoxys was from space. Suicune, Entei, and Raikou were brought back from the dead. Mewtwo was created. Celebi travels through time. Lot's of potential. Indeed. On a serious scale, it's nothing new!

Suicune, Entei, and Raikou were brought back from the dead.

Where'd you hear that? (If it was from the games themselves, then yeah, it's been awhile since I've played my Silver.)
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...

Suicune, Entei, and Raikou were pokemon trapped in that one building that burned down and reborn because of Ho-Oh.

It was probably mentioned somewhere in Pokemon Crystal.

No, I remember one of the NPC's in that one town with the two towers explains it pretty well.

Started with an 'Eu', didn't it? Something like that. I remember the towers, I think the one that was still standing was called the Tin Tower or something.
Title: Re:Something we all could have seen a mile away...
Post by: Gamefreak on July 06, 2008, 09:00:03 AM
I think, and this might be because I started my Silver version up again, that the legend is along the lines of this:

Lugia and Ho-oh lived in each of the two towers.  After Lugia's tower burned down (with Suicune, Entei, and Raikou in it), Lugia left and went underwater and Ho-oh revived them.
