Title: Cosplay Thread
Post by: Fishalicious on July 18, 2008, 09:04:38 AM
I feel like we need one of these. o: Discuss superawesome cool cosplays you've seen/wanted to see done, I suppose. I've got nothing against you posting your own cosplay here, if any of you have done any.

As for me, I just recently stumbled upon a cosplay of the Siam monster from Silent Hill V. Here (http://silenthill5.net/images/monsters/silent_hill_v_monster_siam.jpg)'s what Siam looks like in the game.

Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCZOJ7TYtXs)'s a video of the Siam cosplay. Of course, the people in the costume said they could barely last 10 minutes in that costume, which sucks, but... damn.

I haven't done any cosplay, but I wouldn't mind doing one.

I've been looking around to do an Edgeworth cosplay, yet I think I might be better built to do Gumshoe from Phoenix Wright.

I've done Cosplay for The End from the MGS series.  I used a real M1891/30 Mosin Nagant too, I just disengaged the bolt so that it was unusable.  A few of my friends and I were the entire Cobra unit.

I'm working on a cosplay of Wolf Link from Twilight Princess.

I had one, but I didn't like it, so I'm making a new one. >_> he's missing most of his facial features-no teeth, tongue, gums, no eyes, one ear missing... o:

After that I'm going to be off-and-on working on Robbie the Rabbit and The Ultimate Chimera.

I must say, I commend you for even getting anywhere with the Wolf Link. I wouldn't even be able to start. I'd just draw some designs on my dog and say "There, you're gonna be Wolf Link this year." Good luck with the cosplay!  ;)

Yeah, I'm making the bodysuit next week, I think... I've still got to sew up the body, hands, tail, and finish the feet and head before it's done.

... In short, I'm not done. XD

Here's a mugshot of his unfinished head:

And a nice shot of his legs so far:

Human legs are not supposed to bend like they did in that second picture.

Also, when I saw the picture of Wolf Link's head, I didn't have any idea what it was at first.  I thought it was like... a cat orgy or something.

Fisk and Vaati! You guys have awesome cosplays. My L cosplay was...well, less than desireable. I had to try to gell my hair into L's style since my wig didnt arive in time. An that went completly awry since I had just gotton my hair cut. And I had a little TOO much eyeliner. Heres a picture of me and my friend Colton at Megacon. (he's Link).

I really wouldn't mind cosplaying as Link, having dressed up as him at a Renaissance Festival.

Either him or Sora. I do have a Keyblade replica, but no flashy clothing. :P

I have always wanted to cosplay.. but it can be difficult. I would not want to be stuck in a full body suit, too hot and too much work. Yet, no characters tend to have curly hair so.. AND yes I could straighten it but it takes hours.. and hours.. and then jus poofs up.

I can think of a few characters with curly hair.

Maybe if all the video games weren't made by Japanese...Never seen an asian person with curly hair...

Actually, I was thinking the same thing when I saw a black guy in the Silent Hill 5 trailer... And it's funny because it's Americans making that one.

As for characters with curly hair... that one guy from bobobo bo bobobo had a fro. And some guy in Hale Nochi Guu.

Well, you could do a character with a bun or something. Curly hair doesn't matter for that. Like, maybe Tenten or something. You've both got dark hair.
Title: Re:Cosplay Thread
Post by: Fishalicious on July 18, 2008, 01:59:44 PM
You could do what I do: I make cosplay fursuits. o: your personal appearance doesn't matter much for that-mostly weight/height wise, but it doesn't take much to fix that.

If you straighten out your hair a bit, and put the back up in a bun, you could go as Cynthia Vasquez from Silent Hill 4...

Oh, and you could also get a wig! You can fit a lot of hair into a good wig. :3

Wolf Link's got a fan in the muzzle, it really helps-funny enough, I'm claustrophobic. It helps with the closed in feeling a lot, and it always has a nice breeze in it.

I'm also planning on putting an icepack for padding, because I kill two birds with one stone.

Oh, and I have a superepic costume coming up today or tomorrow I will post. It's Travis from Silent Hill 0. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBRjF9X8ZfQ)

I'll be finishing up Wolf Link's body in the next few days, as well...

I've never really wanted to cosplay, if I had a really good costume then maybe but most of the people you see look really bad when cosplaying because they haven't really tried, at least they're having fun! Of course some look absolutely gorgeous, but it tends to be a minority.

I guess I'm kind of cosplaying next Sunday for a fancy dress party. I'm going as an angel, but kind of vaguely basing it on Pit, I'm buying some gladiator sandals and making a shift dress from a sheet, I'll probably make the wings if I can't find any, they shouldn't be too hard.

Poor, poor Lisa. Anywho, why was Travis dressed up like a German shepherd?
When I was designing my companion cube cosplay I was going to use those fans.

1. Lisa loves yiffing.
2. It's a Shiba Inu. And his name is Mira.
3. This (http://youtube.com/watch?v=GUDcSeUvkOw) might explain things. Probably not, though.

If you need help with the setting up of the fans, feel free to ask. I'm not really an electronic genius, but I found it easy. o:

Any tips?

Find a white suit (thrift stores are pretty good), buy some .99 colour dye in the fabric section of walmart.

If you add a lot more water to a dye mix, it gets lighter.

Yes, just use red-- the water will dilute it down to that color.

I decided to go to AFO. But since I didn't start on my Companion Cube cosplay yet, Im just going  to go as an improved L. I have my wig this time, and Im going to get my Aunt to do the eyes for me, since she is a very prissy girl who loves make up. And my mom fixed my baggy jeans so I can wear those instead of my crappy ones that I wore last time.
My friend Colton is going with me again, but this time he is going as a black mage from Final Fantasy.
AFO is on the 15th so I'll have pictures up that day, or Sunday.

Hmm... cosplay! It can really be a lot of fun if you get into it. I like making props more than I like sewing, but having a sewing machine helps with that. I made my first Zelda costume by hand when I was younger and sewing machine-less and it didn't end well.

But I've made other costumes since then! Mostly from Video Games like Zelda and KH, but some from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (Chrome) and Air Gear (Akito/Agito).

I also desire to cosplay Sarah Palin so I can go around shouting about energy sources and hockey.

I would be amazed if they made an Ultima Weapon of actually high quality that wouldn't break easily.

I think if I went with any keyblade though, I'd go with Bond of Flame. Always liked that one.
