The game works like this:
You list the items that the poster has to work with.
You tell them what the setting of the room is.
Here are the skills you have:
[Analyze] Allows you to see things you didn't see in the room before. You get two of these per room.
[Insight] Allows you to get a small hint of the creator allows it.
Whoever solves the puzzle gets to make one of their own for people to solve. Here's puzzle one:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You're in a dark room. There are four walls in this room. The door slammed behind you and vanished. There is a barred door on the opposite wall. There is an unlit torch to the side of the room. You have everything from Ocarina of Time in your inventory.
SOLVE.
Use Din's fire to light the torch. Usually when all the torches in a room are lit, the door opens.
The torch is lit!
You've used all the SPL you have, but there must be something else in the room... Because the door hasn't opened.
Analyze*
Looking around the room, you notice something you didn't quite catch the first time. Embedded oh so casually into the east wall, a crack ran down the side, now illuminated by the torch you lit moments ago.
*tosses bomb at crack*
The wall crumbles to pieces. After the tremors stopped, and the smoke cleared, there's another room behind the wall. However, there is nothing inside the room. Its completely empty.
*analyze*
You notice that something is a bit out of place about this room... Some of the debris from the wall is still floating in mid air.
Use eye of truth.
Use the lens of truth.
Another torch comes into view under the scope that tells all. Its not lit.
Using the torch from the previous room, light a Deku stick on fire and use it to light the invisible torch.
The invisible torch is lit!
The bars open and you go through the door.
The next room appears to you-
Now the next person out of you three to post gets to make the next puzzle. This could be the most epic dungeon of all time.
ARGH I'M TOO LATE
:'(
Bump to REMIND SOMEONE TO POST
Hey, why don't YOU make the next puzzle? It's obvious that neither I, TW, or CM want to devise a new one.
You go through the door, the bars close instantly behind you. Nothing except for four crystals are in the room, each suspended in mid-air.
You have all of the equipment from Twilight Princess.
I use the Gale Boomerang to hit all four in a specific order, dictated by a cryptic diagram on the floor.
You hear a the sound of gears turning behind a wall. Besides that, there is silence.
I hit said wall with my sword.
Sparks from the interaction fly through the air, illuminating the room for a moment. In that moment you see what seems to be a torch.
(swoops in to take the cake)
Fire arrow.
The torch lights, and then instantly moves downward, opening up a once invisible door.
You go through-
[Analyze]
What? No, you solved the puzzle. That means that now YOU get to make the next room.
wrawr :P
alright, fine. Gimme a minute to think something out.
Mmmmkay. Just make it cool please. ;D
As soon as you enter the room, a pungent odor fills your nostrils, and the door slams behind you. The room is long, and the temperature of the room had to be over 100 degrees. There is a ledge about 10 yards from your position, and a red glow from whatever us in the trench tints the edge of the cliff. A platform can be seen on the other side of the pit, along with the door.
Oh! And you have all the weapons from Ocarina of Time. BEGIN!!
I use the lens of truth.
Nothing out of the ordinary appears in the room.
I pull out my Longshot and look around for a target.
No targets appear to you. However, whilst looking around, you notice that directly to your right, there are a few boxes, and a clod of dirt in the corner of the room.
I place a bomb on the clod of dirt.
After a few moments, the bomb explodes, and as the smoke clears, a peculiar blue button manifests itself.
I take one of the boxes and place it on top of the button.
The button is pressed down, and the platform on the other side of the room begins to rattle and shake, before moving across the room and stopping at the ledge.
I... step aboard the platform?
You are now standing on the platform. :P
(what else do you want from me?)
I pull out my bow and shoot the box that is now aboard the switch, breaking it.
I step onto the platform and throw a bomb at the crate that is holding the button down.
10 yards.
Link can't throw a bomb 10 yards.
The bomb falls short of the crate, and it explodes damaging nothing but the ground underneath it.

Whoops, sorry. :P
The arrow sticks deep into the box, but does not break it.
I use the Longshot to break the box.
EDIT: Also, this topic could be the kind of original content needed to attract new members. *sticky*
The longshot hooks onto the box and pulls you towards it, off of the platform.
My my, that is a very strong box.
I drop a bomb and then run to the platform.
The box explodes, and the platform moves across. However, the explosion also took with it the treasure chest that was inside the box, thus melting the small key that you needed to use to get out of the room.
You fail.
Try again?
You suck.
You're the one who was so hasty! :P
Not my fault!
You even realized that it was a heavy box, why didn't you think there might be something inside it?
YOU SERIOUS?!
Whatever, ok I'll retry.
I walk over to the box, and hit it with the megaton hammer from the side.
The box smashes to pieces, and the chest inside reveals itself. You open the chest to find a gleaming small key. Now for the platform.
8)
I put the key in my pocket and put a box on top of the blue switch. I then place a bomb near the box, run back to the platform and wait.
The bomb explodes, and the platform carries you across. As it stops, you are now on the north side of the room.
[North Side of the Room]
There is a locked door directly in front of you- problem is, there is also bars on the other side of the chains. As you turn around, there is seemingly nothing on this side. Just two jars, and three walls, the fourth direction leading back across the lava pit.
I use the key on the door. I then move the pots to se if anything is under them.
Nothing under the pots.
The chains come sliding off, but the bars prevent you from going through the door.
I break the pots on the ground, making sure nothing fell in the lava.
You find two magic jars.
Pick them up and use them now?
Not yet. I choose to examine them.
Nothing out of the ordinary... Just plain magic jars... but why would you be using magic over here hmm?
[Inspect room]
There seems to be something out of place about the wall on the right side of the room.
So, we're playing dungeons and dragons zelda style?

Hmm, that's neat i guess ;D

It doesn't get much more self explanatory >.>
I pull out a bomb and light it, wait a second to insure that it blows up on contact, and throw it at the wall.
The bomb sails straight through the wall, and disappears from sight! An explosion is heard on the other side, and some smoke billows from the wall.
I use the lens of truth
The wall disappears when looked at through the Lens of Truth, and there are five torches in the room. None of them are lit. There is a switch in the middle of the room, and a diamond-like switch on the ceiling.
I throw my boomerang at the ceiling switch
It lights up yellow for a split seconds, then shuts off.
*uses Din's fire*
The blazing inferno surrounds you and expands outwards, lighting all the torches, and hitting the switch above you. The button you were standing on disappears along with everything else in the room. The barred doors open and you walk through the door to the next room.
Crap, I'm so not doing the next room...
*Reserved for Tacheon*
The next room you enter is tiny. You feel very cramped, and in fact have to crouch to fit into it. There is a skeleton in the corner wearing a menacing grin, and the ground here is a mottled brown-black. You are equipped with everything from Majora's Mask.
Use Eye of Truth
The wall behind the skeleton's arm vanishes where the Lens of Truth shines. The eyes in the skull light up with an eerie orange glow, and the floor beneath you begins to crumble.
*analyze*
As you deduce from your analysis, the floor beneath you is crumbling away, most likely eventually causing you to die. The passageway in front of you is dark, and you can discern the snick of guillotine blades from somewhere in the distance.
despite how much I so don't want to go towards the skeleton, we'll crawl through the hole and see what we find, aside from guillotines.
As you round the corner, a vast bottomless pit comes into view. Approximately five meters away from you is a frosted-glass platform (magically suspended in 64-bit wonder) with a torch burning merrily. On the opposite side from that, about a hundred meters away from where you now stand, is the door leading into the next room. It is barred and locked.
[Analize]
Looking to the left and the right, you notice two unlit brazers hiding in the shadows, also on frosted-glass platforms. You get the feeling that there's something lurking on the ceiling.
I use my fire arrows to light the unlit torches in the room.
A small chest drops on the platform in front of you. The shadow beneath your feet grows.
I shoot a light arrow directly above me.
The light arrow has no effect as the wallmaster descends to claim its victim. You are dragged screaming to the beginning of the dungeon. ZV or JQ, go ahead and attempt to finish this room, or else just start a new one.
Use eye of truth once more!
Nothing interesting or out of the ordinary appears. Might I remind you that you do have all of the items from MM?
Use the bunny hood to run faster, escaping all potential wallmasters. Also, hookshot to the treasure chest that just appeared.
You are now on the center platform.
[what more do you want? +_+]
>_< Open the treasure chest...
Say, I don't see any guillotines around here...
And I don't think it's possible to use Ice arrows on Torches, but I'll try anyway... *Shoots ice arrow at the original torch*

Quote from: JQ Pickwick on July 26, 2008, 03:41:35 PMSay, I don't see any guillotines around here...
And what does that tell you?
*ahem*
From where you now stand, you can see a hookshot target above the passageway from whence you came.
Hookshot back to the first room, then use a bomb wherever I see a crack. Don the eye of truth once more to closely inspect the walls.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo!!! Hookshot it!!!!
You've just wasted bombs. The Lens of Truth reveals a passage you can crawl through (even as adult Link, yes).
The sound of the guillotines grows louder.
crawl through that other passage.
As you emerge, you barely avoid having your face amputated by a nearby guillotine. Many more line the hall you now face, and at the end of it is a golden eye switch.
Move to a place where you're likely not to be decapitated and shoot an arrow at the eye.
Then inspect the room with the eye of truth.
The eye is now shut. Somewhere, you hear metal bars sliding up.
Using the Lens of Truth, you spy a hole in the ceiling. In it, there is another Hookshot target.
Only one way to but UP!
Hookshot up there.
There is a barred door here, this was obviously not the door that was opened by the eye switch. There are a bunch of steel bars here, blocking the way past the door. On the floor beyond the gate is a sun switch.
Analyze
You notice that light is leaking through a few cracks in the ceiling above the sun switch.
Target the crack and toss a bombchu at it.
The sun's grin means the door is now unlocked.
*goes through door*
now what?
To your right in a little alcove lies a massive chest, inlaid with gold filigree and beset with a strange lock. Upon it lies an inscription.
I am by mortal definition unobtainable.
You cannot find me for when you arrive I am not there.
The heart of those e'er deep in love cry out to me in want.
I am not in this room with you, nor in this chest ornate.
What am I?
Nothingness?
The locks make a satisfying clunk as they allow access to the chest.
Inside it lies...
The Triforce!
That's right, you won the game!
Hooray! Now go get some sun.
You Serious? Thats it? :'(
You pretty much made up that dungeon as yo uwent along, didn't you? -_- and what about using that small key we got?
What? Nothing related to unlocking the next room one?
Anyway....
NEXT ROOM: (Pretend that triforce bit didn't happen)
The room you enter is shaped like a cube. The door is on one of the sides of the cube, with the top-bottom line of the door being in a horizontial position (relative to you)
You see several blocks and a crystal switch. You have all the items from Majora's Mask.
I hit the crystal switch with my arrows.
The room rotates vertically by 90 Degrees, The blocks fall down from where they were before to the new bottom.
The door is also at an upright angle, 2 blocks' heights above the floor.
I move two boxes, one atop the other, to the door and climb up them to reach the door. I open the door.
It's not that simple...
You have to use the vertical rotation of the room to use gravity to stack the blocks. The Blocks are too heavy to simply pick up and stack.
There are a total of 3 blocks. Try again.
I line all the boxes in a row so that when the room rotates, they fall in a fashion so that it goes from one block to two blocks to three blocks on top of each other.
Imagine that the room is a 8x8x8 cube...
The corners of the door are located at 0, 2; 0, 4; 1, 2; and 1, 4...
Those are the coordinates for which the door is at a vertical angle.
Where should the blocks be placed in order to go through the door? (Think of your solution in terms where you move the blocks in relation to the wall (floor) you're on before when the door is at a horizontial angle.
JQ thats just too hard to visualize. You win the topic, but still, lets go for something a little more simple like the rest of us.
Fine... The solution is rather simple anyway...
But let me dumb it down for you. The solution can go in one of four corners... You just have to visualize the wall that's perpindicular to the plane that the door is on, and visualize the blocks in relation to the door's location.
The Rotation in the room goes in a clockwise motion. (Yes, I still want you to solve this). Now the door is located on the left side of the 'square', In which corner would you have to move the blocks, in relation to the door?
The...right side...?
There are four corners; North-east, south-east, south-west, north-west
Northeast.
baddaboombaddabing.
You go through the door... and...
Your turn ZV
Alright here goes:
You walk through the door, and into a room where there are brick walkways, and sand everywhere where there isn't stone brick to walk on. The walkway runs from the door right down the middle of the room, where it forks directly to the right and directly to the left. It runs each way about 10 feet, where it turns directly forward again for about 10 feet, where the two walkways turn back towards each other, and continue down the middle of the room to a locked door after they meet.
There is a patch of swirling sand in the middle of where the walkway separates. There seems to be nothing else in the room, aside from a rusted out treasure chest near the edge of the walkway near the locked door.
Analyze. Also... where are the puzzles in this room?
You notice absolutely nothing in the room out of place.
What game's equipment are we using?
Use hookshot to pull yourself near the rusty chest.
Oh! I'm sorry! You have everything from Ocarina of Time.
You are now standing in front of the rusted out chest.
Open the chest.
Inside, you find nothing but the old wooden bottom of the chest. Nothing.
Hmm... use Lens of Truth.
There is nothing invisible to the naked eye hidden in the room, or the chest.
Hit the chest with the Megaton Hammer.
A little bit of wood splinters off the top, and noise echoed off of the walls... silence.
Hmm... toss a bomb into the sand pit.
How large is this patch of swirling sand?
Big enough to throw an adult sized Dodongo in, and it'd sink.
Ahem... I think you missed this.
Quote from: Twilight Wolf on July 29, 2008, 05:31:44 PM
Hmm... toss a bomb into the sand pit.
Indeed I did.
The bomb sinks under the sand. Moments later, an explosion is heard.
Silence.
I plant a magic bean?
Did they have those in OOT? I can't remember...
Yes, the fat man on Zora River is eating them next to the gate.
Nothing happens... The seed is sucked into the sand, and disappears from sight.
I jump in to the pit, casting Farore's Wind before doing so just in case.
Ah, my bad. My memory of that game isn't the best.
You sink into the sand, and all goes black.
Suddenly, you find yourself in a new room.
There is what seems to be a broken ladder on the other side of the room. Pieces of it lie scattered all over the place. There are two doors on the north side of the room. Neither of them are barred or locked in any way.
Enter the door on the left.
The door closes and bars seal it shut behind you. You feel weaker and weaker as all your magic power is drained. The bars lift from the door, and you exit the room.
Hmm... use a potion to restore my magic, then walk through the door on the right.
... You have no potions.
ANYWAYS,
you walk through the door, and find yourself in an old room. Vines grow up the sides, and a few smashed pots lie on each side of the room. A Gibdo stands in the corner silently, and there is a cracked wall directly to your right.
I send a Bombchu running towards the crack, staying well away from the Gibdo.
The wall explodes, and you find something odd inside the room thats revealed to you. A large hourglass sits inside with most of the sand in the bottom of it. It looks light enough to lift.
Flip it over! Flip it over!
The hourglass is flipped, and a blinding light takes out your senses. Suddenly, just as if you were recovering from an exploding deku nut, things come into view. Turning around, you realize something is far different. The room you'd just come from is now neat and tidy looking. The Gibdo also seems to have disappeared. The smashed pots from before have reassembled as if magic itself had touched upon them. There is a sofa on the side of the room where the Gibdo once was, along with a sidetable. A few paintings are hung here and there, and a table is situated in the center of the room.
Go back into the previous room and climb the (hopefully now fixed) ladder.
You run out of the room, and climb the fixed latter. You open the hatch above you, and climb out onto the newly refurbished pathway. Rather than sand in the middle, a statue of what looks like Ganondorf of old stands proudly in the center. He is holding what looks like the triforce, and a man is standing on the other side of the room next to an opened treasure chest.
I cautiously approach the man, keeping my bow nocked with a Light Arrow.
The man turns around, and notices your bow.
"WHOA! HEY!! Don't shoot!!" The man held his hands in the air, and he was holding a small silver key. "You're one of Ganon's follower's aren't you?" He began shaking. "I-I'm sorry! I'm not a spy or a-anything like that! Take whatever you want, just leave me alone!!"
I shoot him.
The man yelps as the arrow pierces through his chest. He drops to a knee, as a tear slides slowly down his face. He drops the key in front of him, and catches himself with one hand. His vision begins to blur, he drops to the ground. "I should have listened to my wife... I should be with my son right now..." He muttered, as he slowly began to slip from this world. "You... tell my brother... I'm so-" Blood shoots from his mouth, as he makes a few small whimpers- and passes away to the spiritual world.
I press the "Reset" button on the N64.
The game sputters to a halt, and the familiar 3D "N" comes into view, followed by the word "Nintendo" which is encased in a red ring. You see the words
"Press Start"
Along with the familiar "Zelda" text.
I press Start, select the appropriate save file, and find myself in the room once again, back how it was before the hourglass was flipped. I go to the sand pit, fall through it, and set a bombchu towards the crack in the wall, making sure not to attract the gibdo.
Ya know what, I thought it could've been a trap.
Ignoring those past three posts, I take the key from his COLD, LIFELESS HANDS
Thats God-modding.
This is my dungeon, and I say it starts up with the man lying in front of you bleeding, and a small key at your feet, his yelp still echoing off the walls.
You now have the key, however, the door is missing.
Go back to the room with the Hourglass and flip it back over! Then unlock the door in the present!
You open the door, and move on to the next room. ^_-
YAY!!! I get to mak........
DANG IT!!!
I gotta go, so who ever feels like making up the next room can if they'd like... :(
EDIT: I guess nobody else wanted to go so I will.
*ahem*
You step through the door to find yourself in complete darkness. All that is visible through the dark haze is the faint glow of a torch.
*Analyze*
You walk slowly forward and discover your standing on the opposite side of a giant bottomless pit than the glow of the torch.
Oh, I forgot to mention you have everything from Ocarina of Time.
Use Lens of Truth.
You look through the Lens of Truth and see a alcove on the wall to your left, a alcove in the wall on the right, and a floating platform over the bottomless pit. You can see a door in the alcove to your right but it is barred shut. The alcove to the left seems to be a hallway of some sort.
go down the left alcove
You run down the hallway to find nothing but a wall.
use lens of truth and analyze
You use the lens of truth but the wall remains the same.
Smacking your sword against this wall omits a different sound than any other wall.
It looks suspicious... BOMB IT!
Wait! Don't! It might be a trap with a ReDead! :-[ :-X :-[
We'll never know until we try! JUST BOMB IT ALREADY!
Um...BOOM! Um...where are you DH92?
Oh, sorry my bad. Behind the wall is crystal switch.
Hmm... what to do, what to do... I dunno, maybe you can HIT IT!!!
*sigh* What if a spiked ceiling comes crashing down on your head? :-\ DH, if that doesn't work, I place a bomb near it run to the previous room.
The bomb explodes, activating the switch. The bars on the door go up, but the platform that you needed to jump across is gone.
Alright, let's go down the right alcove then.

You attempt to shoot the switch , but the wall is in your way the platform you were standing on vanishes. As you fall, you are once again impaled by the falling spiked ceiling.
Bad day huh? ;)
And it's not a triangle btw, I just made it a triangle to show it vanishes when you hit the switch
and you can only see it with the Lens of Truth. Oh, and the lines on the map are all walls, okay?

Bomb the door in the left alcove....that's all I got.
OH! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo close!
I'll give you guys another hint, you have to bomb one of the walls in the switch room.
That's what I mean. Bomb that wall, hit the switch, run back out with the hoverboots, land on that platform that can only be seen with the lens of truth, then...I forget what to do next.
hmmmmmmmmm... nope. Give up yet?
Yes...
Alright then. You have to bomb the wall directly to the right of the switch (on the map), then without hitting the switch, go to the opposite alcove, and shoot an arrow through the new opening in the wall.
The bars descend and the door opens leading into the next room......
You can go next 2nd Lt.
That spiked ceiling makes me a little limited on ideas...
It doesn't have to be a ceiling...
Topic Revival Time!
Well, as for what looks like months, no one has posted anything in this thread, I think I'll go ahead and post a new room.
Here you are, entering a big room, in the same style of that old Spirit Temple. The first thing you see are a lot of mines or bombs hanging from the ceiling in metal chains. There's a door to your left, open. There's also a big gap between your starting point and your objective door, wich is closed with bars and guarded by a Beamos.
The floor is like a grid, with narrow passages and deep darkness. Also, at the sides of the room, there are some sort of Gerudo Banners, all dirty and corroed by time.
Your equipment for this one will be: Master Sword, Hylian shield, Bow and 30 Arrows, Magic Arrows, and Long Hookshot. Your magic is enhaced.

OH MY GOD!!!!!! I THINK I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!
On a different note, I shoot all mines in sight.
with your Bow or with your Hookshoot?
About what you first said... I like this type of game, and that, combined with Zelda is just too appealing.
Shoot all of the hanging bombs with regular arrows.
All the mines explode, from chain reaction. Shards of metal fly across the room, hitting everything, scratching you. Now, only chains remains are hanging from the ceiling. Now you see the room clearly. You can't jump across to the floor grid. You see the Beamos on the other side of the room, and it is staring directly at you.
Wait a minute...
what's the door in the top left corner lead to?
Thread revival! I shoot the Beamos in the *yadda* eye.
