Title: Zelda Veteran's Art
Post by: Zelda Veteran on July 19, 2008, 09:19:11 PM
Here's a picture I drew recently of my Zora from HA2.
I didn't know where else to post this here, so I chose the imagery board.
Criticize and compliment. (http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k287/ZeldaVeteran/Taint001.jpg)

ALSO, here's Hollow, the Deku mage! (http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k287/ZeldaVeteran/hollow001.jpg)

This is the right place.

All right, I like it, but here's the obvious criticism.  Your work is never going to be past a certain caliber unless you learn how to use proper lighting-- shadowing and whatnot.

Last time I shadowed (Rasul) the scanner didn't pick it up, so I didn't even try with Taint.

Good work, nice facial expression for Taint, he has a laid back look to him. But I agree with ZV, my scanner has issues with shadowing.

It's not that hard to edit pictures with a scanner program- Granted, I've been scanning in inks and getting dark spots off of them, so I've been having the opposite problem, but it's all the same.

I dont even attempt to screw around with photoshop. I would destroy the pic entirley.

It's not photoshop-it's the program most scanners come with, the Lexmark photo editor.

With paintshop it's actually surprisingly harder to fix stuff like that.

Oh, I usually only use the lexmark editor to resize.

I must confess, I didn't draw these free hand. I had the original picture of what I was drawing to the left of me, and I drew really lightly with a pencil. After I thought it was perfect, I shaded appropriately with a thick black marker.

Wow, very nicely done! Sasuke, Naruto and Link look especially good, I think.

(Heh, I just realized I made a mini-poem out of that.)

OH LAWD

When I saw you wrote that, I scrolled up... and saw what must be some sort of loincloth.

But now I cannot unsee what I originally thought.

I'm sorry, Tacheon. I shouldn't have put you through that :(

Honestly though, you're pretty good at drawing all these different physiques without making them look outrageous or...well, bad.

...

Anyways, thats the 2H Deku Sword in his hand, and his Ball&Chains can be seen resting on his back.
The chains that wrap around his chest and keep his weapons on his back can also be partially seen. Is this how you pictured him when I RP'd him Shika?

I usually picture all Gorons alike for some reason, with a slight difference for each. Shigure had big boots. Junter has a giant boulder melded into his back. *shrug*

ZV, you really put my lack of drawing skills to shame. 'Kay, just about anyone can, but I really like your anime style. Keep it up, dude!

The hilts of his swords are disproportionate to his body... but other than that it's pretty sweet.
