She was flying!!!!!!!!!1111!!!! :o
K, Bye
I liked the costumes thew US had. I thought they looked kinda cool.
I hope we own.
As predicted, the Olympic's have caused conflict already.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/oly_china_american_killed
One of the parents of the American volleyball coach was killed, the mother and their tour guide were almost killed as well, then the murderer leapt to death off a building...wow.
QuotePresident George W. Bush, in the Chinese capital for the games, expressed sadness
...I don't even know how to respond to that.
Are you serious? Man, that's messed up... I'd really liek it if this Olympics wasn't so screwed up, you know?
Wouldn't be good for world relations.
Thats awful!! And here I was thinking the Olympics was all about the gathering of nations and World Peace!!!
Not in China, apparently. They're more about blocking off freedoms of speech, press, etc, as well as curbing any type of political protest (IE: Free Tibet).
They even have 300,000 security cameras over there for the games, so everyone can be spied on, even in hotels!
I actually think China was a very bad place for the Olympics. I have a feeling something nasty could happen involving the government.
So, yeah, the American Beach Volleyball team was defeating the Japanese team. That's for not sharing everything with us, Japan!
Also, a US Olympic swimmer won a gold medal. Apparently, he was ahead of all the other racers by alot. He even shattered his own record!
That would be Phelps. Yeah, he's shaping up to be the biggest medal winner ever.
This is ridiculous Chinese fans drilled like soldiers to provide 'atmosphere' (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/olympics/2531266/Beijing-Olympics-Chinas-army-of-student-fans-drilled-like-soldiers.html)
That is just so wrong in too many ways.
I am a bit of an olympic fan.
My highlight was watching Togo (I mentioned the country in the places i want to go topic) winning their first EVER olympic medal.
It was amazing, I can't think what the sport is called but its canoeing down rapids through checkpoints. The guy was so happy he broke his paddle in half ^^.
I cheer for USA unless they're up against Asians. :P
I think I was the only one in the house who wasn't happy when China got steamrollered in basketball by the US.
Phelps is working on his 7th medal today. It would be awsome if he gets all golds.
Phelps is grossly amazing. Too bad I'm not a big phelps fan, too many people are!
Go Canada! <3
Go US!
Go Japan!
Doesn't China have more gold medals than the US? I think they're winning!
Phelps just got his eigth gold medal this year.
...so what
So he just broke a record, Cacturne. Nobody's ever won that many Gold medals.
From what i have collected, Phelps is pretty much carrying our country.
He's an amazing swimmer. I heard somewhere that he has this freak metabolism, and he eats like 10000 calories a day!
??? AGAIN WITH THE QUESTIONS!!!!
So he's the best Olympic athlete ever!
The most decorated athlete in history...he's definitely a big thing for America. They're saying his feat won't be repeated for a long, long time, if ever.

Nope. We're winning!
Really? Hm, I guess my data was a few days off....
I hope we win with flying colors!

Erm. I'm pretty sure we're not. They're owning us in Gymnastics and such.

Keep in mind you're in General Discussion. Watch the spam.
Your info has misled me. That's a /fail.
I have a thingy on my tv where if you press the menu button on NBC it tells you who has the most medals and such. China is currently in 2nd place but is still owning with 27 gold medals!
When do the Olympics end?
In a week or so.
Cool. My favorite event is Dream platforming! ;D
JK, it's pole vault. what about you guys?
My favorite event is the one where they see who can hold their breath the longest without dieing.
is that actually an event? :-\ it's not in the M&S olympics, :P and plus i've never heard of it...
Yeah it is. But there's only one medal 'cause everyone else dies....
HylianHero92, another pointless post like that'll earn you a warning. I suggest you stay on-topic.
Let's not forget the threat of convo posting...
I actually thought he meant swimming... :-\
I like the hurdles.
I'm really surprised how many events there really are. like i thaught in sonic & mario @ the olympic games, i thought they had everything. now that i've seen some of the olympics, and discussed it, i realized that there are so many.
i've only been alive for... *counts on fingers* 4 olympics. (counting this one). now i'm kinda into it.
but the X games are so much better...

...like Nintendo would EVER put that much effort into a party game...
Anyways, I figured out the whole 'who's winning' thing. China has the most gold medals, we have the most medals total. Not sure which one is better :/
China is winning i think on like a "points" system, dunno how it woks but e.g. 5 points for a gold, 3 for silver etc. etc.
britain is doing extremely well considering how small we are, we're third on the table (the one that ranks China 1st, USA 2nd) because we have quite a few golds compared to ther countries with a higher overall total.
But we're a rich country so I guess its only expected that we do faily well.
I dread to think how shoddy our 2012 London olympics will look in comparison, they are holding the hockey near where i live.
