I started Latin 1 today. Im nervous beyond belief. I know that there's a few of you who know Latin. How hard was it to learn?
I took Russian. Completely different branch from Latin languages.
But hey, if I can learn an entirely new alphabet, sounds, and whatnot, I'm sure you will ace Latin!
When I took it in high school, the teacher let us use the charts and dictionaries in the back of our books, so we had it easy. I can remember a few words off the top of my head, but I wouldn't be able to translate anything without a dictionary near by.
I can recite the Super Smash Bros. Brawl theme lyrics and the One-Winged Angel lyrics, if that counts. :P
It doesn't? Well, I don't know much about it outside of Wikipedia. I can tell you its syntax is SOV (I think), but you probably already know that by now...
Actually, the syntax can be any order because nouns and verbs rely on endings to denote what is what. It can become very confusing that way.
Wait, maybe it's Greek I'm thinking of... Gah, maybe Wikipedia's lying to me...? >_>

Or maybe
life is lying to you.

...GD, man.
If you're referring to the Latin fight I had with another member on the Chatboard, I don't actually speak Latin (or Greek) at all, save for being able to count to ridiculously high numbers. I got my retorts from the interbutt.

Maybe it's neither and that was just what I was taught.
Learning Latin is cool though. It's like the daddy of all the other major languages, save a few.
I'd rather learn that than any other language, but alas...
