ALRIGHT. so, I got my schedule for school and stuff- rather bland, uninteresting stuff, met the teachers, etc.
as it turns out, I get college credit at the end of the school year in US History and English 3. 4 hours worth, I think they said. That's absolutely crazy- you see, I'm getting college credit and I'm only 15. Crazzzy.
And next year I get a full college credit-like, I don't have to take that course at all-in Math, English, and History.
Welcome to advanced placement. Pray that you don't fail.
Well, all I got was AP... which is probably entirely different from what you have. If it's AP then you'll have to take a really hard test called the AP exam for that subject. Depending on how you score (It's REALLY hard, believe me) you might get credit.
Then again, your school might have something like dual enrollment or actual college courses available, in which case, you're extremely lucky and might not have to take any really hard exams... MAYBE.
I have AP English and History this year, yes- but next year's Dual Credit.
I'm not too worried about the end exam, because English and History aren't too bad- I mean, science is really my best class, but English and History are up there, too.
What's college credit?
My class has to do some advanced Maths thing next year because we're the top set and our teacher loves maths. If we can do it it adds UCAS points so that's good.
Believe me, the AP exams (=/= the 'final exams') will eat you alive. I thought I was good at chemistry, then took the AP Chemistry test and got only a 2 (out of 5). But then again that year was screwed up, so we didn't have as much class time as an AP course requires.
Then there was the AP English one, I made a 3. In order to have gained credit at most universities, I would have had to make a 4!!!!
in my school, only a handful of people actually took any of the available AP tests.
My schedule is all freaky. I have two highschool classes, band and jazz band.. the rest are college courses. The odd thing is I'll always have huge gaps in my schedule.
I got my schedule changed- so far, English and US history AP are going swimmingly.
The English AP teacher really liked my essays on The Grapes of Wrath, too. ... I was really sarcastic about it, too- my favourite character essay was over the turtle from chapter 3.
