I request that my modship be removed.
For because why?
EDIT: Meh, your business is your own, dude. Still though, you were (and in fact are) a great mod, and I hope that you're sure about this.
I feel it would be best, given recent events. That's all. Believe me, I had to think hard about it.
Well, all right, but it's a shame. Still though, I'm glad you have the foresight to make a decision before (if ever) things got problematic.
It's not like I'm leaving the site or anything. And I'm not really needed as a mod anyways, it's pretty quiet here.
I guess... better to have more than enough than not enough, though.
If being a mod is more than enough, and not being a mod is not enough, then what's enough? :-X
It may just be a temporary thing. I don't know. I'll probably know tomorrow afternoon though. All I do know is that right now I've got other priorities, and my obligations here are having adverse affects elsewhere.
Anyways, I suppose we'd better watch the convo posting. Just because I won't be a mod much longer doesn't mean I wanna start breaking the rules.
Yeah, no convo posting. Still though, I wouldn't really call it that, more like clarifying. It's not like we're chatting about the weather.
Speaking of clarifying, I was more meaning that it's better to have too many mods than to have too few.
Aw, you're a great mod shika!
But, if you think it best feel free.
I agree with Tacheon and AliCal, you've been a great mod for us. It's sad to see you giving up your position, but if you think it's best for you personally, then it's probably best. I'm glad you'll still be here, at least, and I bet you that Gamefreak would have no objection to reinstating you if you changed your mind.
I wish you the best of luck with whatever's going on in your life right now.
It's times like these where I wish I actually were up at the time something like this was announced. Otherwise, I feel like I'm just repeating what others are saying. :-*
Anyway, don't worry too much about it if you do wish to leave the squad. As it was already said, you wouldn't be leaving forever (praise the Lord!), and changing your mind is always an option.
But again, you already said you have a lot on your plate as it is. This should reduce the amount of load you have on your shoulders at least slightly. I'll support whatever choice you make.
Well, I'm back from the doctor's, and what she said was that all these stomach pains/vomiting was stress. KP, don't expect near as much work out of me, I'm going to be dropping a lot of things. The game, for one. It's not really the internet stuff that's causing a majority of the stress, but it's occupying my time and making it hard to focus on the real life stuff. I probably won't be on all that much for a while as I try to get things talked out. Stress brings out the worst in me. 8)

GOD DAMNIT I LOST THE GAME
I'm glad you're taking some time for yourself. Just what the doctor ordered, IMO.
Ugh, sounds rough. I'm sorry to hear that. Some time off will definitely be good for you.
I'm not the one who's had it rough :/ I've been snapping at people who didn't deserve it and generally being a jerk at times. I haven't been myself and I've hurt people because of it. All the more reason to get this figured out.
P.S. So I apologize to those of you I've been irritable with.
The game? Oh, yes...
Still, I hope you get well soon, but you should, of course, with a bit of rest and time off. Don't let the past and present trouble you.
Ah, Shika. I read the whole topic. You've done us all a great service.
But you come first, not the forum, so do what you have to do.
It's really not a big deal. I mean, really. The only thing I did with my mod powers was edit people's posts in the Chatboard to cause laughter and the occasional angry outburst. I just don't want to feel like I have extra pressure on me so I can focus on getting back to being myself again.
Then you have my support, and I'm sure the support of many others.

Like me! *Raises hand and waves* Do whatever make you happier with yourself, Shika.

There's... er... there's more to the job than that?
Maybe he doesn't wanna get into too much details over the forum.

Meh, you guys are fully capable of doing all the warning and such.
Don't put yourself down like that, Shika. Sure, you used your power for laughs, but you used them for serious purposes, too, and the forum is better for it.
I'm not putting myself down. I seriously haven't warned anyone for...wow. Almost a year, I would imagine. I basically helped with pranks >.> This forum is too quiet for there to be much need for serious modding.
Whoa now Shika, you gave me an awesome idea.
You know how there are citizens' arrests? Maybe we could have citizen warnings. I mean, if a member sees something that a moderator missed, they could post it in the 'citizens' warnings' news thread and then...
wait
omfg that's what the report a post thing is for isn't it
>:
Epic fail.
We've pretty much thought of everything, Tacheon. ;D

We could still do the whole public humiliation thing.
And to repeat what everyelse has said, take as much time as you need.
I'm definitely feeling a lot better now. My stomach's not bugging me in the slightest, and I've talked several things out with my parents. I've still got a few things I need to clear up, though. Most of the problems were nothing I had to worry about anyways, and I'm finding ways to get out stress. Been taking a lot of walks, too, getting away from all the noise in the house has been helpful. School's actually been beneficial in that way ;)
Ah, good... Very glad to hear that things are improving for you.
Happy to hear you're feeling better, Shika. I hope things will continue in this direction.
Ok, just read the whole deal so I have a few slight comments.
1) You're giving up your mod powers? You always loved them, it seemed as if they got rid of stress and not caused, but.. your choice.
2) I still do not get the game thing.. but I must have lost? I don't even know.
3) I told ya the stomach thing was stress related, happens a lot to people. Stomach ulcers are, well, the direct cause hasn't been found, least it hadn't when I did my project two years ago. They were leaning to stress and genetics though. Or maybe I told all this to Tiff...
He has always expressed a level of doubt in relation to his mod powers, at least to me.
You don't really need to shout that to the world, JQ.
Of course, apparently you have a problem with the whole, 'nondisclosure' thing.

I have a few choice things I could be saying to you, especially to that last little bit, but I will restrain.

1. I've enjoyed having the power, and the mods are great guys, but being a mod kinda made me feel like I had to stay in conversations I'd rather leave or else I'd be shirking my duties. Plus it took away from time I could be using to work out the real life stuff. I might ask for them back later, I don't know.
2. 'The Game' is...well, it's bizarre. I think there's an article on it somewhere. I hadn't even
intended for it to be that 'Game', and I literally meant game in the sense that I was contstructing a computer game for KP to help advertise HA2. Tacheon took it the other way >.>
and he's probably going to pervert the above statement.
3. I read an article about ulcers being caused by bacteria, but I'm not sure whether that's only a certain kind or what. You Can't Take it With You said it was stress, but...well, the play was from the 30's. Science has advanced since then.

I just don't like being the bad guy and warning people, usually. I remember the first time I did there was a huge uproar and the guy went on a very angry rant.

Uhh... When did that happen, again? :-\
It was waaaay back, about a year ago. Can't remember if it was emeralblink v2.0 or what...all I remember is it was just a little casual thing, just a small swearing warning, and he flipped. It wasn't like the member was a jerk, it was just the rules.
Now, situations like Sabata and such I wouldn't have a problem, where the member is a total troll or something. But we haven't really had anyone like that lately...well, except for Quater, but I was gone the whole time that went on.
As a mod, you have every right to warn someone if they've broken a rule, no matter who it is, so you shouldn't worry about being the bad guy. At least, that's what I think.

Yeah, but at the same time, this is a forum where the members get fairly close. Although it's usually not the core members that get warnings. Still, the whole bgrugby ordeal was...stressful.
Anyways, I'm feeling better now. I mean, I puked last night at the dance, but I believe that was due to some particularly undercooked ribs I ate prior to that night, since others in my family have the same sickness. Aside from that, I've been feeling perfectly fine. So...I'm debating asking to have my mod position back, but it's up to Gamefreak.
What do you think I'd say?

I can't have any meat if I don't eat my pudding? [/Pink Floyd reference]
So yes, I would like to have my mod position back if I may, but first I want to clear something up with you via PM.
Oh yes, this reminds me of the temptations of wanting my modship back...
Well, I have no idea whether to say "It was nice having you as a mod" or "Congradulations on having your modship back". Whatever you're telling Gamefreak isn't our business, either, but I'm sure it must be something important if you're only telling him. I hope things really are better for you than before.
Welcome back to the squad, bud.
You puked at the dance?!
I thought you were just worried over your cousin, not sick!!

Yeah, right after I danced with you, actually. So, sorry I didn't dance with you much, my stomach was a wreck. Although yes, I was worried about Scotty as well, but it was a minor thing, just checking now and then to make sure he hadn't curled up and had a meltdown. I'm still puking now, actually. I'm finding out who made those ribs and hunting them down. >:(
I'm glad to know you're feeling better and that you've decided to re-join the mods, Shika. Also, I hope you're not sick any more.
Last time I puked was last night, and it wasn't much. I've been feeling a lot better today, even made it through a fairly grueling tennis practice without losing it. I'm feeling fine now, and I think I'll be alright for my match tomorrow. So all is well.
glad you're feeling better. I've had swimmer's ear since friday, so i had to miss school (but just on friday). and i'm feeling better, thanks for asking. :)
and good luck at that match.
